Who are we likely to lose after this season??
bearpants replied to Nolby's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
off the top of my head, I think there’s three current HCs who went from STC to HC… John Harbaugh is the most well known and accomplished… joe judge for the giants… And I’m pretty sure the Texans current HC was a STC… -

Something that hasn’t been mentioned around here… I wonder if Buck Pierce will garner any interest for a head coaching gig… not sure how many openings there will be next year… Edmonton seems like the only lock at this point… Ottawa and Sask might be possibilities… every other team should be set at HC for at least one more year… -

If Harris is healthy... I could see him back for one more go... two reason: (1) this is likely to be a championship contending team again next year and (2) he'll likely fall just short of the 10,000 yard mark for his career by the end of this season... he could get there with a couple more games played... However, I would think he usage would be 50%, at most... a literal and figurative hand off to Brady... -
Doesn't matter how talented he is... a guy like that would never, ever fit in with this Bombers team...
-
Hey, maybe he'll get completely burnt by Darvin Adams in a playoff game again....
-
Is this for the Riders or the Huskies?
-
I have no problem with fans looking ahead to the Grey Cup... as long as that locker room sticks to the 1-0 mentality... and I'm confident they will...
-
Doesn't make any sense to play Mourtada this week if Castillo can't go right away... Maybe that Ferraro can punt and they'll let Leggs to the place kicking... Either that or I'd give it all to Leggs... Mourtada is a dead man walking.. and as @TrueBlue4ever said, what happens if he has a good game... last thing we need is a kicker controversy in a season where we've had nothing but sketchy kicking...
-
He's gonna be quiet all year... then BOOM... in the West Final or GC he's gonna come down with a huge contested TD catch, clinching a win, and we'll forget all the nothing he did all year... 😁
-
This is true... you were right to call them out on that... then they alleviated your concerns by signing Crapinga... not exactly a game changing signing... but they (and some here, myself included) agreed with your assessment and tried to fix it... Finally... they have properly fixed it...

Calgary could absolutely run the table to close out the season... getting hot at the right time...
-
I completely forgot that we brought back Kevin Glenn for a brief insurance policy a few years back...
-
Of course, he's still a great runner in almost all aspects... but when it comes to pure foot speed, he hasn't outrun a DB in years...
-
I agree with everything you say on Harris… he is still one of the best when it come to finding holes, breaking tackles, catching, blocking, etc… but I disagree with the bolded, especially still… breakaway speed is the only thing missing from his arsenal at this point in his career…

Jets have already lost more games than the bombers this year…
-
Last thing you want to do is take your foot off the gas and just play out the stretch… that’s something the 2001 team did… I’d say get all the back up in only if game circumstances allow it (ideally up by a lot)… only exception is the final game of the season… get the back ups a lot of work in the second half of that one… other exception is any injury to Collaros… no matter how small, take him out
-
It’s funny with everything else going on… we haven’t even argued about this… I was watching and yelling at the TV… how ******* long are they going to let this go for… I cannot believe they let it go for so long after his momentum had clearly stopped… and then he appeared to fumble before breaking the plane… just an odd play that I still have no idea how Edm got two points out of…
-
To answer you first question… those two wins were not luck… the team (mostly offense) didn’t play well in either game but they made enough plays to win… good teams find ways to win… I didn’t say the bombers were guaranteed to score anything… you said the game would be over with 11 mins left and the bombers down by seven… I said there was plenty of time for a comeback… and now you’re asking “why would I assume the D wouldn’t give up more points?”… do I really have to explain that one?… they only mentioned about 700 times on the broadcast how many points the bombers have surrendered in the fourth quarter this season… it’s certainly possible they could’ve have, but all else aside the elks didn’t even pass center field on offense in the fourth quarter… I’d bet on the Bombers D in that one… if you’re dead set on the game is over with bombers down by 7 and 11 mins to play… then I guess I won't change you’re mind… I’m just saying you’re wrong…
-
Fair enough on the first point… but even still, let’s say the bombers lost both those games and are 7-3 and still in first place… are they just lucky to be there? on the blitz stuff… you’re assuming the coaching staff is just going to go “oh boy, we didn’t handle the blitz well… let’s just ignore it and hope it doesn’t come up again”… I trust the coaching staff is going to come up with new plans to counter it… for some reason you’re assuming the bombers would’ve only scored a FG on the following drive… and then not score again… if that play was in the last minute, I’d agree… but again, there was 11 minutes left in the game… lots of time to come back…
-
Your first four points make sense but the last three are very confusing… let’s start at the end… bombers won 30-3 last week and they should’ve lost?!? Interesting take… teams don’t accidentally win by 27 points… edmonton showed how to beat the bombers by losing to the bombers… seems logical… the Grymes pick would’ve ended the game… so you’re assuming the bombers offense would’ve just shut down with over 11 mins left in the game… bombers out scored Edm 10-0 from that point on and should’ve been 13-0… it would’ve absolutely shifted momentum but to automatically assume they would’ve lost is completely illogical… it was by no means a perfect game but you make it sound like this team is on the verge of collapse… good teams find ways to win, even when they have a bad game…

If the Bombers cut Mourtada today... he's already played his last game in the CFL...
-
I think it is still a bit of a crapshoot... but all the ore reason to stockpile picks... you're far more likely to get three good players out of 8 picks than 4 picks...
-
That's a stretch... he's no superstar... but he's absolutely good enough to be a player in the league...
-
Funny thing is the pre-season of 2013 is, I believe, the year we had Rene Peredes in camp... and he was justifiably cut b/c Palardy looked like he was the future...

yes, but what if I "imagined" the ball bouncing in after hitting the goal post??
