  1. I think if you are a completely unbiased observer... and are a fan of both leagues... you could make the case that the super bowl was a more entertaining game... Grey Cup: Bombers basically dominate the whole game... no real drama Super Bowl: San Fran is 7 mins away from holding down the mighty KC offense... then they make an epic comeback for the win However, as a Bomber fan... I enjoyed the Grey Cup much more
  2. Good luck to Streveler... hope he does well there...
  3. he's sneaky young too... it feels like he's been on the team forever and he only just turned 29 last month...
  4. this was actually a decent blog for a young guy... shows more insight and knowledge than most of the beat writers that "cover" the Bombers...
  5. I remember 2016 very well... the team was 1-4 (or about to be)... we were sitting in IGF and I said to my lifelong friend/fellow season ticket holder " I might be done, if this season continues like this, I don't think I'm coming back next year"... this was our 13th season has season ticket holders.... The next game in Edmonton, Matt Nichols was named as the starter over Drew Willy... a couple other changes were made too... Loffler started at S, Bond was moved to G and Hardrick at RT... and that started something different... that was the first day that the team became competitive and we finally saw the results of that last November... Long story short... without Matt Nichols I am confident that Mike O'Shea and Kyle Walters would no longer be employed by the Bombers and we would not have seen the drought end in November... for that, all Bombers fans owe Nichols a huge amount of gratitude... some people did not love Matt's play over the past 12-18 months... which is fair... but you can't deny that he was one of the major reasons this team is where it is today. Thank you Matt Nichols... all the best in the future...
  6. only the first of these three statements is factual... the other two are conjecture...
  7. At what point do we start giving Kyle Walters the benefit of the doubt?... he's been the man for over 6 years now and in that time he has proven to be a shrewd and intelligent cap manager... I see no reason to believe Kyle would sign a contract that puts the team in a bad situation... The best thing about this deal is it gives the team two more years to work on McGuire and (hopefully) Streveler to get the heir apparent ready...
  8. Where did you get this number from? ... I haven’t seen 500k reported anywhere...
  9. sounds like some real shitty work... .... ... .... I'll show myself out...
  10. in 5 NFL seasons (45 games played) he had 67 catches for 852 yards and 5 TDs... decent and effective as a NFL receiver... we'll never know how he'd be as a CFL receiver until we see it...
  11. If Hall were to retire... the guy I wanted to replace him is apparently going to Toronto... so I'm fine with him staying...
  12. I wonder if maybe Buck calls the plays but the overall offense will be a joint effort between Buck, Costanza, and Bourgoin.... gives him an opportunity to add some of his ideas to the mix... I suspect Buck (just a hunch, not trying to claim any personal knowledge) is a guy that's open to collaboration...
  13. I'd love to agree with you... but unfortunately, you're wrong... by the rule, that's 100% an incomplete pass... I remember watching the game and when I saw the replay immediately said "****, that's an incomplete pass"... if we had gone on to lose... it would be the dropped Sayles INT (just knock the f***ing ball down!) on 3rd and 10 that would haunt us...
  14. I didn't see this anywhere and thought it warranted it's own thread: https://www.bluebombers.com/2020/01/21/bombers-unveil-offensive-coaching-staff/ – Buck Pierce has been promoted to the offensive coordinator role while also continuing to serve as quarterbacks coach. – Kevin Bourgoin shifts from running backs coach to receivers coach. – Pete Costanza joins the coaching staff as the new running backs coach. – As well, the Bombers are pleased to announce that Marty Costello will remain in his role as the offensive line coach and will be heading into his fifth season with the team in 2020.
  15. I see on the old twitter that Lirim Hijrulahu has been released for NFL opportunities... seems surprising?
  16. would that be non-non-imports? Integrity? He managed to horse collar a guy and not get called for it... is that considered a specialized skill?
  17. Is that the same company?... I can't remember the source now (possibly the 3Down article) but it said the company is not publicly traded and financials are not available...
  18. I thought I read the company was privately held and the financials were not available?
  19. you're simply mistaken... Campbell is a defensive coach...
  20. This is exactly right.... IF they have acquired a future franchise QB... first overall means nothing...
  21. Also: Brandon Zylstra, Carolina: 6 REC, 96 YDS
  22. No... considering he doesn’t work for tsn anymore...
  23. I'm not sure why anyone would bother getting upset about this... he's just making guesses... outside of the re-signings, I'm sure most of these will be wrong anyways...
  24. Exactly right... if you listen to Milt he always says things like “my bombers” and “Winnipeg, the greatest city in Canada”... but he’s paid to be impartial... if you work for tsn you’re contractually obligated to lick the nuts of the leafs and riders... I’m glad Milt isn’t a ridiculously unabashed homer...
  25. Randle was acquired via trade... but it’s still a credit to our scouting since Calgary wasn’t utilizing him and we saw him as a shut down corner...
