  1. Record producer David Geffen??... "David Geffen School of Medicine" just sounds weird...
  2. I read an article about him recently... the (Detroit) Lions view him as a project and was the same when they drafted him... safe to say they'll probably keep him around for at least a couple years... especially since they traded up to get him
  3. I we got extremely unlucky on the timing... if Collaros played like this last year, or Brown still had one more year at his entry level contract... it would have been much easier/justifiable to move on
  4. I don't think it's necessarily about criticizing him... but more the thought of "what could've been" had the guy given it his all off the field... Agree fully though... in the mid-2000s, after the Khari era ended... Chuck and Milt were the only reason to attend games... and they never disappointed.
  5. I'll admit, I wasn't confident we were going to drive down and score on the last drive... but I sure as hell stayed in my seat til the end (at which point, a seat was no longer required)
  6. Uh oh… Doug might be close to losing his media credentials 😉 Exactly this… dress Smith as the returner/back up RB… he can play receiver in a pinch… replace Johnson with Lucky in the starting line up There’s a bye after banjo bowl… sounds like he’s on track to be back after the bye
  7. I hope we see Ayers start to get more reps on D... Ayers and WIL and Jones at MLB could be a solid combo
  8. Winning a game by a rouge is cheesy... but how did the Riders allow the Argos to get 2 FG attempts in the last 2 mins of the game... that's how the Riders blew it...
  9. Gauthier is good in a limited role... especially in short yardage... but he has no business being an every down MLB... I don't expect to see him much tomorrow night... much like game 1 of the season where he was listed as the starter and played about 5 snaps on D
  10. except that he was born and raised in Canada and played 3 down football until he was 17... so you want to diminish him for being so good he got recruited to play in the US?... I agree, the media attention on him is way over the top... and Tre Ford should also get more praise... but it's ridiculous to call him "not a True Canadian" basically because he was too good...
  11. he's real Canadian... born and raised in Canada... spent the same amount of development time in Canadian football as Sidney Crosby did in playing hockey in Canada... yet no one questions "how Canadian" he is.... Drew Wolitarsky is a better example of "Ben Cahoon Canadian"... so to be clear... your expectation for every Canadian football player is their dream should be to play in the CFL and have no aspirations beyond that?... otherwise they are a fake Canadian?... and the word he used was "unforeseen" as in unplanned... he had hoped to make it to the NFL and didn't so he played in the CFL and excelled... then he had an opportunity to play in the best league in the world and we should chastise him to taking that opportunity?... you ignore all the parts of his statement where he praises the CFL and constantly pick out the one word, then change that word, to fit your narrative... we get it, you think he's not Canadian because he was good enough to play in the US... I can guarantee 100% of the Canadians currently playing the CFL would do the same thing if they had the opportunity.
  12. I don't disagree with what you're saying here... of course teams hire media people to control their message... but how does any of the above have anything to do with media being barred for asking tough questions?... so I'll ask again (because you've made the claim several times) can you name one example of someone in the media being barred from the team for asking tough questions?
  13. you say this all the time... but can you name one example of someone who was denied access to the team for asking a tough question??
  14. Calgary fans now realizing why Winnipeg had no problem letting him walk...
  15. Cole is hurt... and Ayers is new to the CFL... no one is shocked that O'Shea would play a CFL vet over a rookie... Jones is a stop gap for this year
  16. Just what I was thinking... losing 12-13 (or so) man games of Lawler and Shoen is far more impactful than 18 from a special teamer...
  17. you know there could be a ticket drive involved here too... a casual fan (who maybe trusts Farhan's opinion) hears this and thinks "wow, if he's that good I better check out this game"... at least he's drumming up CFL conversation
  18. concussions are a weird animal... we've seen guys miss multiple weeks after taking a body shot... and other guys not miss a single snap after a direct shot to the head.... if the team is clearing him to play, I trust he's healthy.
  19. I think this makes the most sense... take off Johnson, Case, and Thomas (hahaha, I know that would never happen, but one can dream)... and replace them with Lawler, Murphy, and Haba Ayers seems like this year's Cole... I think we'll start to see him get defensive resp as the season moves along... and if that means we have Ayers and Cole as our primary LBs next year... that could work out
  20. This is obviously an absurd take... the only reason I could see his saying this is literally to drum up a controversy and create discussion...
  21. So that's only if Mack comes back this year?.... if kicks around the NFL this season and comes back next year he'll be a FA?
  22. The game was in Winnipeg... but otherwise, you are correct, most didn't see that coming.
  23. Needless to say the west is wide open... no team in the CFL seems like a major threat right now, outside of Montreal... If the Bombers want to prove they still have it... this would be the time to do it
  24. Montreal chooses Alexander... Fajardo goes back to Sask because they believe he's awesome... Fajardo proceeds to suck again... BTW, IMO Davis Alexander is proving with the right team surrounding him and right weapons at his disposal... any decent QB can thrive in that scenario
  25. Don't forget they had a past his prime but still very, very good Ricky Ray not that long ago
