  1. https://www.tsn.ca/with-aaf-struggling-out-of-the-gate-cfl-stands-the-test-of-time-1.1260996 Nice article from the Nayl-gun about the state of the AAF vs CFL...
  2. good for him... always liked him and I'm glad he is able to extend his career... hopefully the Argos fan doesn't expect too much out of him though...
  3. I'm glad we didn't... Walker is great but 285 for a receiver is pretty excessive... especially with no guarantee of success... or a healthy season...
  4. Looking at this... I'd like to see an couple upgrades to our Canadian content... ideally someone like Ackie and probably a couple draft picks ready to contribute... Maybe someone like Filer to add experience to the O-line... and obviously we could use some help at receiver.... overall not too many holes
  5. I wouldn't mind Logan Couture as a 2nd line center for the Jets... but I'm not sure how a 6'1, 200 lb center would hold up in the CFL... I agree with you... but that "one playoff appearance" was also one Grey Cup win....
  6. The numbers on some of the FA receivers are pretty steep.... Ellingson 250, Walker 280, Posey 200... I guess I see why Walters stayed away from some of these guys...
  7. Walker would've been a nice addition... but realistically for 280K you can probably get 2 good receivers... I guess he figured the playoff money would be easier... 5 wins gets you second place in the east and it'll probably take 12 in the west...
  8. Realistically what are his options? BC - no money left (at least not enough for a high end receiver)... Edm - Been there, done that... Cgy - they don't sign FAs... Sask - if he wants to be a celebrity in that town and lose consistently for the foreseeable future... that's a nice option... Wpg - Legit cup contender with interest and a QB he's familiar with... Ham - They're pretty much set at WR... actually, their pretty stacked: Tasker, Tolliver, Banks, Addison, Saunders... but technically still an option... Ott - they should have the money available and need receivers... They're should be in the running... Tor - in the running.... he has history with Franklin too... but not a lot of success to look forward to... Mtl - technically might be an option but again... how much does he want to win?
  9. That's true but who is throwing him the ball in Toronto?... Normally I wouldn't use Nichols as a "selling feature" but in this case they have a history together... so that always helps...
  10. What did Ellingson sign for?... anyone else think Walters will give Walker 250 for one year and sell him on a chance to win it all... I could see it...
  11. I mean, no one is expecting he's going to immediately start bashing the team that just signed him... he just got a fat new paycheque... of course he's currently happy...
  12. I can't tell if this is a joke or not...
  13. yes, that is funny.... but the reality is... who is a better option at this point??
  14. remember when Walters went all in and spent like a drunken sailor on FAs... the people who complained about that are the same people who complain when he does nothing...
  15. I actually agree with you here... for all the **** Bo takes about his attitude/personality... it is very rare for a player to choose loyalty over money...
  16. Ottawa has lost their starting QB, RB, LT and #1 WR.... yikes!... they certainly could be trying to save some space for BLM...
  17. could be... I'm 100% speculating... not pretending to be an insider
  18. How do you know the Bombers are not speaking with these players reps as we speak...
  19. I can't imagine a scenario where BLM signs in Sask... it's likely Cgy or Tor...
  20. Rumour*: Sask petitioning league to move to the east.... *rumour may or may not have been started just now...
  21. BLM might as well sign with Toronto now... he'll get a free bye to the grey cup for the next few years...
  22. BC's roster will be about 6-7 all-stars surrounded by rookies... if the rookies perform reasonably well, it will work... but if not, they will be in trouble...
  23. I actually agree to some extent... after I posted this I was just thinking it's pretty amazing how good our Canadian depth has become... we could potentially lose 4 Canadian starters and we should be able to fill the void fairly easily... In the Joe Mack days if we lost 4 Cdn "starters" we would be down to 3rd stringers...
  24. I don't know how anyone can downplay the loss of Goossen and Chungh... This is a huge loss... Hopefully Couture and Gray are ready to step in and we forget about those two... but right now, this is a big loss for the Bombers...
  25. is this guy saying this like 62 degrees is cold?!?
