  1. If they can convince him to switch to receiver... that would improve their Canadian depth...
  2. I think Adam Vinateri and Matt Bryant would tend to agree...
  3. from someone who was actually at the game... was Calgary's downfield coverage as good as it seemed?... it just felt like there was never anyone open except for the two overthrows (Adams and Harris)...
  4. I'm not sure how anyone can have anything bad to say about Neufeld after the season he just had... played as well as Bond and played all 18 games... he's a Canadian making (reportedly) around 140k this year... I would guess about 8 other teams in the league would've loved to have had him in their lineup this year... My guess is it's Winnipeg or BC... hopefully Hervey screws it up again this off-season and he comes back here for a couple years...
  5. IMO blowing it up now would set this team back... I wouldn't mind seeing some changes in the coaching ranks whether it be coordinators or positional coaches... For me, the only way we replace Mike O'Shea would be if we're bringing in Devone Claybrooks... anyone else would be a poor decision... Kyle Walters needs to do better at the WR position... there's no way to sugar coat that... Calgary loses 3 American starters and still has an all-star core... Hamilton loses 3 starters and and still uncovers a gem like Braylon Addison...
  6. One year too early...
  7. It's just AAF.... Alliance of American Football...
  8. That guy was Odell Willis... so, take that for what it's worth... I suppose it is debatable but he grabs is left shoulder pad and pulls him back.. I believe this was the first year they started to really crack down on horse collars also.. so again, I'm not surprised it was called...
  9. GO BOMBERS! ...I'm not very good at this game...
  10. good to see he's got his life back on track... sounds like it was quite a mess when he was here...
  11. This is so hilariously ironic... only a Rider fan would be stupid enough to make this argument...
  12. I hope the team (or teammates) chips in and pays these fines... the o-line is the heart and soul of this team and sometimes those little extra hits are what makes them intimidating... they don't typically do anything dirty, just a little extra to remind the opponent who they're playing against... And it sure goes against the narrative some were concerned we our more focused on building a team of choir boys... rather than good football players...
  13. I remember being at that game live and being livid there was a flag thrown... the assumption was that Marcellus Bowman was being penalized... the horse collar penalty was the right call...
  14. I'm sure GMs don't get too caught up on that stuff... for example, something Walters might be "kicking his own ass over" would be using a first round supplemental on Garrett Waggoner... we wanted a national LB... well if we had kept that first rounder, there was a man by the name of Alex Singleton that would've been available with that pick... he probably regrets that whole sequence of events but I doubt he dwells on it too much...
  15. Toronto and Montreal, maybe?... or Hamilton and Toronto... two east teams and one of them definitely wasn't Ottawa!
  16. I'm sure the fact that the media knew about his paycut immediately... was purely coincidence... but hey, if I made $600,000 a year, I could probably live with a 10% cut...
  17. sounds like a sweet gig... I'd gladly be paid to go to the games just to stare at the QBs the whole time... but I do worry, as @JCon said, that they will have to throw some flags to justify being there...
  18. If you don't like someone (the metaphorical "you", this comment is not directed at you @SpeedFlex27)... just ignore or block them... some people are starting to sounds like RF mods the way they scream "TROLL" every time someone has a dissenting opinion...
  19. not quite the same thing... but a few years ago in a playoff game between Mtl and Hamilton... there was a FG that went up and looked like it had more than enough distance... only to get caught in the wind, stop and move backwards to fall short of the goal line... I think that might have actually been the potential game winning kick too...
  20. buy them now and dump them if the Bombers aren't in it... worst case scenario is you lose a few bucks on the re-sale...
  21. I absolutely believe the Bombers can beat the Stamps... I'm just not treating it like a foregone conclusion yet... IMO, this year's grey cup is a toss up between the final four teams...any of them could win it and it wouldn't be a shock...
  22. was it the "city" that let them get away or the ownership and poor economic times?... I always cheer for my home town team so when the Jets left I would pick a bandwagon here and there (really got into the Avalanche/Wings rivalry in the late 90s - cheered for the Avs as a fan of Joe Sakic)... but never really found any real passion cheering for a team until they came back...
  23. absolutely... that was the game where "offense" (I'm not sure I can legally call what we put on the field that year an offense) took until the after the 3 minute warning to get one first down... I've had season tickets for 15 years and have seen some pretty bad teams (2005 Jim Daley team, 2010 LaPo team)... but at least those teams put up a bit of a fight... 2013 was utterly pathetic... every game we would just go to hang out b/c we all but expected a blow out loss... I feel like that was the low that we needed to get where we are today...
  24. more often than not, this is the case... you get a few keyboard warriors who ruin it for the rest of them... but I've typically had the same experience with Rider fans...
  25. This one is going to be a tough one, no doubt... don't forget, Calgary doesn't normally choke until the finals... so we're likely to get their best game this week... remember last year the shomoes went in to Calgary flying and got shut down pretty good... when most pundits were taking Edmonton... Actually last year's moes were very similar to this year's Bombers... I believe they won 5 or 6 to close out the season then went on win win the first playoff game on the road... then went to Calgary with all the perceived momentum...
