  1. I'd like to see them go back to what they did in his early days... come in for a short yardage, then immediately go into a no huddle offense and catch the D off guard... would help the offense and give Zach some extra rest
  2. don't know who this guy is but I bet he would make a pretty good OC... please discuss
  3. that's the fun part about power rankings... it doesn't matter the record... it's all about how each team played/looked... if the Bombers fought back in the second half to only lose by a few points... you could easily make the case for them in the top 4
  4. Rose's feelings being hurt is irrelevant ... the reason he should've been rostered is because Biggie had no business being out there (I know, hot take! this is definitely the first time that's been mentioned)...
  5. the issue I have with the roster is two fold... and yes I know this has already been beaten to death in the last two hours but I want to join in... RB is a concern... Augustine is given the start by default, not because he earned it... If Chris Smith hadn't got hurt and stayed around... would the team have switched (very easily, I might add) the ratio to start an American back?... I'm not totally convinced they would have... The DL is a concern... the biggest strength of our D in game 1 and pre-season was the front four, specifically when we played Fox/Woods in the middle... tomorrow night we're likely going to see 1 DL spot occupied but Jake and Schmek all night... and Haba and Willie gassed by the 3rd quarter... who though that was a good idea??
  6. I would hope the back ups would all be in the game up 53-3!
  7. yes that play was incredible and one that he'll always be remembered for... but that was a special teams play and it was also 5 years ago.... there's a reason he's a journeymen special teamer with almost no starting experience.... if he was starter quality, he would've been playing there a long time ago, not making his first start at 32 years old... as an in-game emergency fill in, he's fine... but when you've had all camp to find a new MLB and the best you can do it a 32 year old, journeymen, special teamer with no starting experience.... that's a major fail... I hope is that he's a "starter" in name only... and there will be plenty on movement in the LB ranks throughout the game... I honestly prefer the team rolled the dice on Ayers or Gemmell. EDIT: I should also note, I love Gauthier and think he's a fantastic ST player and one of the leaders on this team... he's just not a starting MLB
  8. I actually agree and have no issue with Kramdi... but if Gauthier really is the starting MLB taking a majority of the reps... we need strength at other positions... I hope to see Cole out there A LOT in many different roles/situations... he can play anywhere in the LB group or even a safety type role... possibly our most versatile defensive players... so really my only "issue" with Krandi starting is I want more Cole...
  9. things I don't like... Thomas, Gauthier and Kramdi listed as starters... things I do like... the number of DL and LB players we have rostered... I am hoping to see a lot of rotation and lots of players getting on the field... I'm really hoping the Thomas/Schmekel is not a set spot on the depth chart... because Cgy basically couldn't run with their starters against Woods/Fox in the middle to start the game last week
  10. people laughed at your original comment because there is about a 0% chance the CFL could get Swifty... and I might be overshooting those odds...
  11. Fair point... but it is practice 1 of week 1... let's wait to see how the roster shakes out on Thurs before the teeth gnashing begins
  12. right... and that's probably why the Bombers kept 2 new DL, 2 new LBs, and 3 new DBs... who did the Bombers release that is a "can't miss" prospect?... I think (hope anyways) a strong DL rotation, including rest for Willie, will do wonders for the D as a whole...
  13. I don't know if Bighill's future is in coaching... given is strong ties/career in the financial industry... but I'd bet he'll want to be part of the team in some capacity for the 2025 season and the home grey cup
  14. you forgot that our 10 slice pizza only came with 9 slices and there's no guarantee Dominos will ever be providing that final slice
  15. I wouldn't hate it if Bighill has an extended stay on the IL... provide leadership and mentorship to the new comers... and saves the Bombers on player cap and coaching cap... win-win
  16. I'm not sure if it matters who "starts"... but a DE rotation of Willie, Garbutt, and Haba is likely the best case scenario for our DL
  17. Are you forgetting they fired Dickenson and hired Mace?.... while it's yet to be seen if Mace will be a good, or even competent, coach... I wouldn't call it chaos at this point...
  18. I don't know exactly how it all works... but if I could get an in-stadium stream with DT and DB on the call for all Bomber road games... I would gladly take that over the TSN production....
  19. this is exactly what I was thinking... in the end, it's going to be Sask... but I find it hilarious that he is even second guessing it
  20. my only concern is that we'll continue to roll out Thomas and Schmekel at DT consistently... rather than use the ratio in other areas... if the team plans to start Ford and Kramdi on D... that's already 8 Canadian starters without a DL.
  21. The problem with Schmekel last year is he had no business on the AR... that's a failure on management for not bringing in a veteran competent Canadian DL to take some reps... or a failure on the coaching staff to not adjust the ratio or take advantage of the nationalized American rule... either way, Schmekel should've been developing on the PR while continuing to "practice hard"... not playing actual games
  22. I would also like to subscribe to the Booch super secret newsletter… So it sounds like the middle linebacker spot is going to be Gauthier, Wilson or Petrishen to start the year… I’ll be a little disappointed if it’s Gauthier because that feels too much like a “we’re familiar with him” type of pick… I hope Petrishen or Moses really stands out and forces the coaches to start one of them game 1
  23. Ford plays corner and Kramdi plays SAM… Kramdi won’t be backing up Ford… I actually think there’s a good chance both are starting
  24. For sure... it wasn't just one play... but going back to the point @Colin Unger was making... despite all the mistakes the Bombers made in that game... it still could've been ended on the spot if we knock down that 3rd and 5 wobbler Same with 2022... despite the poor all around game the Bombers played... they got the ball back with a minute left and only needed a FG to win it... both games were there for the taking
