  2. I'd be shocked if BC or Sask don't end up with a better record than whoever is 3rd in the east... I think - barring some second half collapses in the west - the cross-over is almost guaranteed...
  3. who comes out is the tough decision... that's what he's saying... putting a healthy Dressler back in the line up - especially against sask - is the easiest decisions the coaches will make all year!
  4. definitely... not saying Ham would trade him to Tor... just think that would be the ideal landing spot for Collaros...
  5. I could see Collaros rekindling his career in Toronto... back to a familiar setting with good coaching... Hard to think Ray lasts longer than this year...
  6. Please tell me #1 prospect David Knevel's name is pronounced k-NEE-vul.... as in, Evil Knievel...
  7. C'mon, you haven't predicted the response already.... "The Sask fans have bought 10,000+ tickets for the Banjo Bowl, meanwhile we have generously set aside 2000 tickets at the historic and truly one of a kind new Mosiac Stadium for Bomber fans who have failed to purchase them. That is all that is holding back a sell out right now" - Riderfans, probably
  8. I don't care to go over there... but what are the chances Riderfans are losing their minds over Gainey not being one of the award winners?? My guess: fairly high...
  9. I get that you're just arguing semantics... but c'mon, there's no way you don't understand his point... If the Bombers win: Bombers 16 points; Riders 8 points = 8 point gap vs Bombers loss: Bombers 14 points; Riders 10 points = 4 point gap..... therefore, a 4 point swing...
  10. that's actually an incredible stat line for a shut down corner who gets thrown at less than 5 times a game...
  11. If this was the plan, wouldn't it just make more sense to sit Thorpe and let Flanders continue the role he has been doing?
  12. excellent point... and I was, by no means, saying all he has to do it apologize and all is forgiven... he has shown absolutely nothing as far as responsibility and atonement... and therefore does not currently deserve a second chance...
  13. why not... I'm essentially saying that even if I lose money (which was technically not happening in this case) I'll still be happy that my team won... I cheer for the Bombers EVERY GAME... and I am always happy when they win and pissed off when they lose... sometimes it's just smart to hedge your bets... bet with your brain, not your heart ... I guess I don't meet your standards for fandom
  14. I think we all agree that most people deserve a second chance... if they earn that right... if Art Briles went out admitted his mistake, donated time and money to helping women's groups, reached out to the effected families, etc... if he did ANYTHING to atone for his mistake (not that you can really take back what he did).... I might feel differently about him... but instead, he filed a wrongful termination suit (not sure if this is still on-going) which essentially painted himself as a victim.... that, I have no sympathy for.... Rachel Nichols said it nicely on PTI a few days ago... paraphrasing: "the fact that Art Briles has a job in football and Colin Kaepernick doesn't just goes to show you what we really value in this sport"...
  15. Exactly my point.... you called out people as "not real fans" if they didn't predict a Bombers win... we are all hoping the Bombers win every game but a minimal amount of CFL/football knowledge suggests that will not happen every game... For example: I watched the Calgary game back in week 3 (was out of town so a rare missed home game for me) hoping and cheering for the Bombers... but I picked Calgary in both my pools b/c that was the smart bet... I would've been even happier to be wrong.... does that make me a bad fan?
  16. this is a good point... but the flip-side is if you start at home, you get a better chance to win the first game... realistically, splitting a home-and-home is the most likely scenario... so it's a huge advantage to go into the second game with a win already in your back pocket...
  17. obvious complaints about this list... why does ACTUAL position not matter when they decide these all-stars?... a few of these guys have 3 middle LBs on their list... LB is the most obvious one where it should be a WIL, MIKE, and SAM LB... not just 3 LBs... but it also applies to O-line, left side vs right side... I understand these lists are for fun and conversation... but I honestly question how many of these writers know the difference between all the different positions...
  18. Did you feel that way in 2013 too?... that season I was at every game, wearing my Bomber jersey and cheering for my team... but I fully expected them to lose every game (once the pre-season optimism had died after a few games)...
  19. I prefer not to think about what "could have been" in the 07 GC game had KG played... for all we know he puts up a "typical soul crushing Kevin Glenn" performance... as some here have stated...
  20. speak for yourself
  21. Assuming Bruce Arthur has his facts straight (and he usually does)... it sounds like the league can't block a coaching signing... "The CFL wasn’t sure it could block a coaching appointment; the league can and has refused to register player contracts, but two sources familiar with the constitution told the Star the only way commissioner Randy Ambrosie could block the hire would be if he decided the move brought he league into disrepute. And even then, the CFL wasn’t sure it would hold weight. So they went with old-fashioned diplomacy instead, arguing and leaning and persuading into the evening, and saved the team from themselves. The statement announcing Briles wasn’t coming arrived at 9:23 p.m." http://3downnation.com/2017/08/29/arthur-attempting-hire-art-briles-stain-ticats-franchise/
  22. It makes me cringe when someone classifies it as "everyone makes mistakes"... like this is something that can and will happen to everyone... just disgusting... As for Jefferson's quote... it's not inaccurate as he was a great football coach... just incredibly tone deaf...
  23. To brush it off as "Art Briles a is a good man that was caught in a very bad situation. " is pretty disgusting... I can't really think of a better word for... I'm not typically one to get outraged over things, and I wouldn't say I'm particularly "outraged" about this signing... but I would be embarrassed and disgusted if the Bombers hired a guy like this...
