  1. Personally, I don't think this team will fall for a "trap game"... IMO Nichols and Harris are the best leaders we've had on this team since Khari and Milt were running the show... and I believe O'Shea will not let his guys get complacent... maybe my blue goggles are getting darker every game but I honestly can't remember the last time I had so much confidence in a Bomber team... probably 2001... Not that I'm saying they'll finish the season 16-2... but this no longer a Bombers team that will get walked on by anyone... Calgary and BC better be ready next time they face us...
  2. Alexander and Walker would be my preferred options at CB and HB...
  3. Ryan Fry was in a suit?... Wade Miller was in a suit?.... you were in a suit???.... EVERYONE WAS WEARING A SUIT!?! these are all questions that need answering IMMEDIATELY!!
  4. I agree with the second part... but I'm wondering how you consider it a performance enhancer?... Are you just saying that's how they view it or do you think it enhances performance?
  5. This... I specifically remember a play in pre-season against Edm... our DB had inside position on the WR (I don't recall who the players were but I assume neither made their respective teams) and the WR jumped over top of the DB made contact before the ball was there and knocked over the DB trying to make a play... I didn't care much b/c it was pre-season but I said to my friend "imagine if the roles were reversed and the DB jumped all over a WR like that"... guaranteed PI call... I have to agree with you completely in this particular incidence... Harris, Flanders and Nichols were completely dominating the Esks D on that drive... I believe, fully, we would've scored with a hand off or two... why not save the trickery when the O needs a spark...
  6. I watched some of this game.... it was painful.... but that Ellingson TD secured my lock of week pick, and Ottawa to win in both my pick ems'... so that made up for it, slightly...
  7. Just had a chance to review the two most "controversial" plays of the game... FWIW (not much) these are my thoughts: Watson 75-yard play: I saw no issues with it... the 2 receivers blocking were border-line holding, but they both would've been bad calls... it was just a well executed play by Edm... coupled with poor tackling from the Bombers... The IC call against Heath on the game-sealing INT: by the "letter of the law" that was the right call... from a purely "eye-test" football perspective, that call needs to go away... complete garbage that a receiver can run into a DB and get a call... exact same thing happened against Ottawa... the problem with this play is the way it is called, not the actual on-field call itself...
  8. remember the Bombers comeback against Montreal is also not possible without this rule...
  9. I don't see Okpaulongo going anywhere, it's nice to have the depth.... worst case is he gets 1-gamed for a while... our secondary will hopefully tighten up when Alexander is back...
  10. this is the big take away for me... if we can tighten up on the back end/pass D... this team could be something special...
  11. Funny thing... if Calgary wins tonight... we will be 6-2 and in THIRD PLACE!!!... maybe it's just the recency effect, but has the west ever been this dominant to start the season?
  12. this is another point that I think is hugely underrated... you see the way the O-line reacts when we score... you see the way the O cheers on the D when they make a big play and vice versa... this has to be one of the most cohesive units we have seen in so many years... everybody loves playing for this team and playing with each other.... I remember rumours in and around the swaggerville years when there was always rumblings about the D being upset with lack of O production... not the case anymore... Mike O'Shea has all of these guys on the same page...
  13. off the top of my head... Heath dropped one, Walker dropped one, Loffler had one taken back by penalty, caught one out-of-bounds, and probably should've caught the hail Mary that ended up being an Edm TD... very easily could have been 5-6 picks last night...
  14. Meh.... give Ripper a break... he's still here despite the Bombers being a top caliber team and the Riders being.... well, the Riders... I love ham and eggs... and I love Matt Nichols (in a mostly platonic way)... so it's all good in my books....
  15. Also of note... the Blue Bastard was in attendance last night... he's a friend of a friend of mine... I think he's posted here before... http://www.bluebastard.ca/
  16. It's funny, I heard that "analysis" too and said to myself*... "that's exactly what makes him our defensive MVP"... he completely takes away one side of the field... probably our best defensive player and one of the best (and certainly most underrated) CBs in the league... *my wife was in the car too but I assume she wasn't listening to me...
  17. this is such an underrated point about our media... remember how much the media was harping on the blue after starting 1 and 15 (I don't remember, it was a bad record) at IGF... yet they go on a 10-3 run and no one says anything My guess is when Brandon Alexander is healthy: Alexander - Walker - Loffler - Health - Randle looks pretty formidable... yes but I believe he was also the only guy to pick Hamilton last week...
  18. Greg Ellingson
  19. I'm gonna guess no less than 9 CFL teams have had high draft picks that didn't pan out... the all-powerful John Hufnagel picked Ameet Pal in the first rounds.... and the high and might Wally Buono picked Esa Mrabu in the first round... unless you mean specifically to injury... then these examples are void...
  20. Awesome story... congrats buddy
  21. Before this comment goes off the rails... I will say that I know @Ripper is a life long rider fan... he's not one of the band wagoners.... I think that's why we tolerate him here
  22. What kind of equipment?... I'm always looking for stuff... nothing drums right now though.... looking for modulation and compressor pedals.... or if you happen to have an American made strat that you want to sell for like $500...I'd be all over that too
  23. You know what I think is the most impressive part of that video?... the fact that he's playing with a recording... so not only does he hit all those notes with speed and precision... but he also keeps in perfect time the whole way through...
  24. bacon is clearly superior to ham.... that's not even up for debate... though I had a quality ham sandwich last night... And I know what the term means... I was just bugging you!
  25. Now that Durant is no longer a Rider... he is garbage and they won in spite of him... c'mon, keep up with riderfan flip-flopping!
