Yeah, their run game may have worked here and there, but they used it far too much and made it easy to get stuffed after a while. And when Sunseri -or whoever was in as QB- actually did throw the football, it would go to someone like Schilens or Swain rather than throwing to our main core like Dressler and Getzlaf. They didn't throw to our good WRs enough.

Was away on vacation, so couldn't attend. Sounded like a close game, but as has been a pattern lately, the Huskies can't hold on to the lead in the semis. Tough team to beat though. Bison have always been my dark horse team. Record has been middle of the road, but they actually got a pretty strong team. Beat Huskies and Dinos twice, two of the best teams in the league. Will be rooting for Manitoba in the Uteck Bowl. Would be very nice to see a Canadawest team win the Vanier again soon.

There's been a lot of discussion about this in the past few months, so I'm not too surprised. Not sure that I agree with the move though. BC was screwed from their injuries. Really not much Benevides could do about that. I might have given him one more year. I think any preliminary list would have to include Trestman. I know he is still in Chicago, but there is lots of speculation that the situation might change. Just saw that after I submitted my post. What's Cortez standing on the Riders ? Doug Berry and Greg Marshall reunion in BC ? I haven't been impressed with Cortez lately, but I don't think he will be fired. Even so, I would give him a second chance too. I don't think he did a good job coaching our younger quarterbacks; all he seemingly wanted to do a lot of the time was make them run the ball which clearly wasn't working. But again, he wasn't in control of our injuries, so I will let him off for that. Next year will be a better measuring stick for him. If he is incompetent again, then I say fire him.

ahh the rallying cry of the loser. Sorry but that's just not true. Edmonton won the game by doing just enough to win. I know you're trying to put a positive spin on things, but your team was outclassed yesterday bottom line. Being positive??? Basically saying my team sucked ass isn't being positive. But Edmonton did not play well. Disparaging the opposition and taking the attitude "well we only lost cause we played poorly that's all" is trying to put a positive spin on things. In classic Rider fan tradition, doesn't matter what the other team does, it's all about us!!!! Edmonton's defence WAS good I will say. It saved the game from going to us. But neither teams' offence contributed a lot, and neither would be ANY match to Calgary's powerhouse offence. That being said, solid defence will be a major key to this coming game. But you can't play the "one but not the other" style play against Calgary. It's all or nothing. Even if your defence is strong, if you don't cash it in at some point, they'll get lucky.
