  1. If there is no trade... and yes, this is probably highly unlikely. Just looking to switch things up from the mocks I have seen. 1. Ottawa - OL Pierre Lavertu 2. Winnipeg - OL Matthias Goossen 3. Edmonton - DB Antoine Pruneau 4. Montreal - OL David Foucault 5. BC - DB Andrew Lue 6. Toronto - DL Quinn Smith 7. Calgary - DL Evan Gill 8. Saskatchewan - RB Anthony Coombs 9. Hamilton - DL Dylan Ainsworth
  2. 60 minutes. It's heating up.
  3. If Foucault didn't get the rookie camp offer, I'd say he is going #1... I still think they're fine at C with Krausnick, so I wouldn't be surprised if they still took the risk.
  4. To me, the only team drafting Goossen to play C is the Bombers and mayyyyyyyyyybe Edmonton. Everyone else would be taking him at G. Edmonton signed Sorensen, but could still challenge him. Montreal just lost Flory, and their depth at guard is quite shallow. Plus LBJ is a rock. BC has Matt Norman at C, who they drafted in 2012. Toronto, Calgary, Sask and Hamilton I don't see actively pursuing him unless he dropped to them.
  5. The Lions would be putting him at guard, I would think with Norman at C... Bombers have the more pressing need at C.
  6. I've thought throughout the process that moving up the minimum to $50,000 would be a good start. Increase it by 7.5% every year. That is around $65,000 after five years. I think that is fair. Cap should be $4,600,000 and rise by $250,000 each year. On a five year deal: Cap/Minimum 2014: $4,600,000 / $50,000 2015: $4,850,000 / $53,750 2016: $5,100,000 / $57,500 2017: $5,350,000 / $61,250 2018: $5,600,000 / $65,000 Is league minimum salary that big of an issue though? How many players on a team would you say make the minimum on average? Without knowing any contract info, I'd guess 10% of the league. So about 4-5 players a team. If you make the playoffs, the minimum salary is just a touch over $50,000. Anybody who would have made the minimum on a Grey Cup Championship team would have made a minimum salary of $70,000.
  7. A linebacker who can punt. Versatile.
  8. Trading for Westerman without a contract could be quite detrimental in February. That could be argued it is more of a gamble than selecting a prospect.
  9. That is the difference though. In the comfort of your own home, you are not a role model for thousands of children. On the field, playing under the lights, you are. On Twitter, where thousands can see what you have to say, you are. This is professional sports... as in, be a professional. Think what you want, just don't say it. The whole freedom of speech thing is skewed too... sure, you can say what you want, but there are guidelines and a code of conduct that you have to follow set out by the league. Every player knows that. Maurice Price, Bryant Turner and Arland Bruce aren't the only guys who think these things. Correct. The rest of them have the discretion to not say it out loud.
  10. I would take Goossen as a guard and play him in Week 1. Lions could roll out Olafioye-Goossen-Norman-Fabien-Steward
  11. The Bombers need to win football games. Period. Whether it is 6 or 9. The word mediocre shouldn't even be brought up after a 3 win season. 2011 doesn't come around all too often. win games but set your goals higher than mediocrity. I want to see them build something and a guy who peaks at mediocrity is not a long term solution. I am tired of replacing coaches year after year after year after year, let's hire some quality people who can take this team to the top of the league. I am tired of teams that can't mount a comeback if they fall behind on the scoreboard. MB and his safe approach isn't what I want to see. That is fair. Bellefeuille is a stop gap until someone better is available, I do believe that.
  12. Milanovich cited personal reasons for why Perles isn't joining the team. In 2012 they were bringing over Jon Himebauch from the Alouettes when Milanovich was hired and lost him to the NCAA days after hiring him.

  14. People keep speculating when Bill Cowher and Jon Gruden are going to step back in every time there is an opening. While clearly more money than LaPolice would make, he seems content.
  15. I think Pruneau is going to be a guy that goes a lot earlier than people expect. I've thought out scenarios where he goes as high as 3rd. Agreed. You were one of the first to call his rise back in your March Mock and I saw Dunk has him at #5. One of those guys who can step in right away and doesn't play on the line... quite rare. You don't see him in the blue and gold, or only if they trade down?
  16. I did mean late in the day! I knew it was later due to the draft, but I never remember it being so late in the day. Ah! That is correct. They wised up to the clamours of people not wanting to be at work while it is on.
  17. Sounds like the team's willing to trade up are: Edmonton, Montreal, BC. Edmonton doesn't have a 2nd pick, so it would be tough for someone to want to make that deal. Austin has been on record as saying that they don't have pressing needs but there is one player they covet and hope he is there at 9. I am wondering if it is Pruneau or Lue, as that defence is changing to two Canadians in the secondary, so the depth will be needed. Perhaps he uses those two 2nd's to his advantage.
  18. The ever so feared $500 fine.
  19. First round. They started broadcasting the first two rounds on TSN.ca in 2008 and then moved it to TSN since 2009... due to hockey and basketball playoffs they are only doing the first round this year.
  20. The reaction may just boil down to Rider fans getting an easy opportunity to cut down a Stamps player, and Price is one of the Stamps best players, so they are a little hesitant. But you are probably not incorrect either.
  21. Draft was later because the NFL has moved their draft later. Allows CFL teams a little bit more clarity when making selections.
  22. My favourite memory of Couch was in BC and he had a perfect chance to hit a receiver in the endzone and chose not to and allowed the touchdown.
  23. Essentially the CFL wants to stay status quo ($100,000 increases on the cap and $1,000 increases on the minimum salary)... which allows them to make more money. That's an obvious play. They want an 8-year deal to maximize their profits while giving the least to the players. But to throw out this kind of offer is absolutely garbage and completely disrespectful to the PA.
  24. Well that breaks it down to Ignorance vs Stupidity. You cant do much about the ignorance of a player being anti-gay but you can educate the stupid out them by at least telling them to keep their backwater opinions to themselves. Problem is, these fringe religious types gets worked up that they have to stand up for their "religious freedom" and think of all the people who voice an opposing viewpoint, they will be the one that says it in such a way that everyone will rally to their position. They are always wrong. Ken-yon Rambo was quick to defend him yesterday on the Twitter.
