The Bombers need to win football games. Period. Whether it is 6 or 9. The word mediocre shouldn't even be brought up after a 3 win season. 2011 doesn't come around all too often.

Price is one of their best players, so I doubt they will cut him. Full credit to Hufnagel if he does. Price would easily find a new home, and a couple players coming to his defence proves that. I don't have an issue with what these athletes say... there are too many people out there with the same opinions for me to care. My issue is with them making it public. Just shut the fudge up and play.

Simoni Lawrence made Hamilton's defence so much better last season. Their turnaround started the day they gave him a shot. I thought it would be Kuale, but Lawrence would be a great add.

When I think Marcel Bellefeuille, I think running the football and ho-hum passing plays. Something that receivers like Aaron Kelly can play in... and I know everyone's thoughts on Aaron Kelly. Henry Burris had one of the worst years statistically of his career under Bellefeuille way earlier in his career. He was handcuffed by Bellefeuille because they had a strong running game and a strong defence and won 9 games seemingly every year. Again, look at Anthony Calvillo. Bellefeuille was the starter for one season there and it was Calvillo's worst as a starter in Montreal. Now, Calvillo missed the end due to his wife's cancer scare, but his projections still would have made it the same. Everyone was talking about if Calvillo was going to retire... wife has cancer, his season was bad, he's lost a step... in comes Trestman, boom. MVP. And continued success under Trestman. The situation in Winnipeg isn't as bad as it was in Hamilton, but in Hamilton you had a team who was continually in the basement... 3 wins, 4 wins... what did they need? Consistency on offence to help a team gain wins. Who does that like no other? Yay Marcel! Bellefeuille's offence scored: 441, 449, 481, 481. Even his point totals are consistent. In the past five years the average CFL team scores 25.8 points per game. Teams in the Grey Cup usually have atleast one team that scores 28-30 PPG. How many points per game has Marcel Bellefeuille offences scored in 8 seasons (excl 2013 as a half year)... you guessed it... 25.7. Good enough to win some games, good enough to lose some games.

So he didn't outright say it was because he was gay, but he does imply it. Either that, or he got bad advice that he was better than he was. Ultimately, he crapped at the combine, and ran a 4.9. For a guy who is undersized and is slow, and can only play one way, that's just the death knell. Facts of the NFL.

I would shoot for 27 instead of 41. I'm not all convinced that the man who made that trade for the Esks did the best he could. Acquired that #2 pick in the Ricky Ray trade and then took Pasztor at 4 on the trade down. An all-time blunder.

Bellefeuille is fine for where they are on offence. If the Bombers offence was more decorated, it would have disaster written all over it.

Huh. Interesting. I haven't read a single thing about the guy because I really just don't care and I only watch him play. But yeah, not a chance. Perhaps if he didn't have an absolutely disastrous combine someone might of thought more highly of the guy. Probably the worst area for depth in this draft was on the defensive line... and you combine the fact that he is slow and undersized, you're talking about a guy who is going to be in sub packages playing MAYBE 25 snaps a game. His ceiling was a 5th round pick, and I believe even before the draft, half the league's GM's said they wouldn't take him until the 7th round or not even sign him... not because he is gay, but because he is what he is, and that is not a prototypical NFL defensive lineman. Good for him if he makes it, but I think he will be the most popular 7th round draft pick cut ever. I'll go out on a further limb and say he might only have been drafted BECAUSE he's gay. He's not good enough to make a 53 man roster IMO, but I'm not sure the Rams can afford to release him now. If I am an owner, knowing the support my team is getting by using a 7th round pick on a guy who otherwise has the odds against him, I see the dollar value in the jerseys. The biggest steal in this draft is the money they have made off jerseys, because he may not even make the team and he has outsold every jersey already. At the end of the day it is a business. I believe that is why a team like the Patriots was so quick to cut Adrian Wilson who wore #24... so they could sell Revis jerseys ASAP. Now, Wilson probably doesn't make the team anyways, but the more jerseys you sell, the more dollars. Same thing in Winnipeg with MSW and Nick Moore.

Why would the Bombers trade out if they need OL help? Makes no sense.Makes plenty of sense if you're looking to maximize value.Goossen at 2 is not good value. In a shallow draft trading out is not a good move. You're misinterpreting the meaning of shallow. The top 15 stacks up against most draft classes. It falls off somewhere shortly after that if you ask most scouts. Tyler will probably be able to put a more exact analysis together though. My understanding is that the drop off starts after the first round. Any draft is going to drop off after the first round. Nobody can compare to a top prospect, it is just not possible. But that doesn't mean it gets shallow immediately thereafter. My list I like up until about 25, which is late third round. Obviously it isn't the same talent level all around, I would break it down as picks 1-7, 8-15, 16-21 and 22-25 as my tiers. 1-7 should start and get significant playing time. 8-15 should be full time on special teams and can play rotational time. 16-21 should be full time special teams 22-25 dress in 6-12 games "atleast" - and dress means either reserve (OL) or special teams After that it gets a bit fuzzy, but I think you can find value in the right guys. As far as the trade, if we are talking two Top 20 picks for three Top 15 picks, I don't know how you can't take that trade. Infact, it sounds so ridiculous just typing it up that I almost think it would have to be two for two (2/20 for 5/12 or 14). So you are looking at - I'm just going to go off of my rankings projection for picking the players - and this is the three rounds. 3 for 2 trade A: Goossen, Jones, Mark (Dhillon, Pszczonak) B: Pruneau, Bastien (Briggs would be great), Chin (Menard if you get Briggs), Paterson I won't do it for the 2 for 2 trade, because you can basically form your own take off of the above picks. Bombers need to improve their Canadian depth, and I think the more picks the better. I myself am just not sold on Goossen, which is why I consider the trade an option. Finally, this will contradict what I have said all along, but if you have to pick Goossen, you have to do it. That would be - no trade partner, and you aren't safe picking someone else. For the record, I'm going to re-state my stance on Goossen because I feel like my posts towards him throughout the process could be construed as dislike. It's not that I don't like him, it's that I think he will take more time to develop than a second overall pick should, and I think if you can get someone who can come in and contribute right away, you are better off using that developmental OL with a later pick - that being Paterson, Dhillon, Player, etc.

Anybody who coaches special teams for a living has to have that ability, I feel.

I endorse Evan Pszczonak in tomorrow's draft. Only because you want to hear Rod Black try to pronounce his name. Pizz-on-ack - fairly simple, but yes, Rod would be something like "Pet-ree-zz-owl-ee" -
Seems silly and quite pointless to say given what the thread just talked about, but based on what I have heard sums it all up. Goossen will be the pick if they can't trade out. 1. Lavertu 2. Trade 3. Goossen Trade would be great for the Bombers... I would try and swing 2 & 20 for 5, 12, 14. Not sure the Lions would go, but worth a shot.

Perhaps it's just because of the current news, but it is interesting that it is only men whoever spark the homophobic debates and never women... perhaps I missed it all, but was there this much outrage over Britney Griner in the NBA?

First three seasons Bauman: 96 rec for 1213 yards and 3 TD's Etienne: 20 rec for 276 yards and 2 TD's Make your arguments as you please. If we are comparing high draft pick receivers, Etienne probably falls in with Sisco instead of Bauman... and even then, Sisco doesn't have 10 catches. -
What does may have signed mean?

The day before the draft it leaks out about a tear, and Gill goes into preventative mode. That sounds about right.

He sucked from Week One on. Shoulda listened to the Rider fans on that one, I guess. I'm pretty sure they just hated him because he had two picks in one game against them
-
I would rather have a guy who makes the minimum and can tackle a guy on special teams over a guy who makes $100,000 and gives me the same.
-
Yeah...I can see that. But the argument would be, why should we ignore it? The N-bomb stuff was cowardly losers on twitter. Not one of those people would have the guts to say that to Subban's face. Not to mention that, if they really feel that way, I guess they dont want Malcolm Subban on their team or Iginla etc. Its just cowardly people immediately going to the deepest hole they can to insult someone. Very ignorant people. In Sam's case, forget the lowly losers who no one knows, Im talking the pro athletes on twitter putting their name to their ignorance. Just makes you shake your head. But no one ever got drafted for sports for being a rocket scientist. Some pro athletes. For the dozen that speak out, thousands do not, regardless of what they think. Likewise with those who do PED's or get arrested, etc. The majority will also be those who do the opposite.
