  1. Hopefully Maurice pulls his head out of his ass before then.
  2. Ya cuz it's Chevy putting thorburn out with 3 42 to go down by 2. It's Chevy who puts burmi up with scheif and Wheeler but leaves the one man armia essentially on the 4th line. Yup. The talent is there.... we just got a coach who is stuck in a very old school mentality.
  3. Ya .. Maurice is definitely part of the problem. Anyone putting the game on hutch doesn't understand that he can't score goals. He just saved the Jets asses a bunch of times cuz Dallas had some Grade A scoring chances... But back to real legit problems Why is Thorburn on the ice with 3 42 to go trailing by 2. Why was Burmi elevated to play with Scheif and Wheeler and Armia wasn't? Why is Lowry still on the PP? Why are we rotating goalies.... just ******* play one... Hutch and Helle are being groomed to fail. You can't be consistent if you are in a rotation. So... Thorburn plays against the not very physical team who likes to run and gun? But Connor sits? Just coaching killing this team . The PP ain't working...figure it out. .. switch it up...Buff in front of the net Laine Morrissey on the points... Scheif Ehlers on PP1. No more buff on the point or wheeler who really does nothing on the PP.
  4. Postma is a very capable 3rd pair RHD. Stu Chiarot is just stupidity. Dallas tho is very injured and yeah... but still.... this is an example of why Maurice may not have as much rope as some suggest.
  5. Bob Mckenzie explained it. Bottom line with Lindholm is the ducks don't have the cap space until they make a trade. That's the holdup... they only have 5.4 in space cuz they put depres on ltir but guess what. .. he won't be there for long and there's some talk that he shouldn't even be there now so let's pretend Lindholm gets 5.4 (probably wants more tho ) ducks have 5.4 in space but then depres comes back... uh oh... over the cap. They can't sign Lindholm until he is moved out... plus the 30000 cap space a day? U sure it's not week but regardless adds up. .. they don't have the cap space
  6. Maurice goes long long long before Chevy does and if he keeps playing favorites and the pp keeps sucking and the team keeps taking penalties with no consequences it will be sooner rather than later. This team has skill out the butt... it's gonna take time for them to gel obviously but things like playing favorites... bad PP.. being unprepared to play... in football terms not making adjustments in game quick enough... no consequences for penalties... well it's on the coach. If this was the bombers ppl would want O'shea gone but since it's Maurice and he's a good talker... nope. It's crazy actually. But should ppl be surprised that a coach with a below 500 winning percentage with history of doing the same old same old isn't the answer? Wasn't the answer in Hartford or Carolina or Toronto and then sat for years not coaching.... there's a reason for that.... and it's got a lot to do with the fact that coaches with below 500 records don't get hired.
  7. Stu for Postma is a stupid move as stu Chiarot is a dumpster fire together. Connor can sit a game or 2 but at the same time thorburn sucks so I don't like it. You are removing potential O for what? 5 minutes a game?
  8. Maybe it's a coaching problem cuz it seems like that's been the issue regardless of who is in goal.
  9. So let's just pretend Ottawa offered Erik Karlsson for Trouba? You'd turn that down cuz we need a good defensive d man? I don't think so. The best D is a good O. The more this Lindholm in Anaheim stuff drags on I think it's more likely a trouba plus petan type for Lindholm deal seems likely.
  10. BC has been terrible vs the WEST this year tho, besides SASK, they have the worst record in the west vs the west.
  11. I think you are right... I think Maurice needs to clean up the penalties, i think he talks a good talk but his actions tend to not really go hand in hand with his talk... he's very much like Noel, where i think he's a great interview but perhaps his actions suggest otherwise, It's funny, if you look at Maurices Career as a head coach and this can't just be coincidence cuz it's happened everywhere he's gone but... the team he coaches has a good year maybe 2 and then they nose dive, fall off a cliff, i wonder at times if his message that he sends to the media and fans is the same one he's sending to the players and perhaps eventually the players see through it, I mean, at this point, when a veteran like stafford or buff plays like crap, what happens is they get to play and play and play... but if a rookie makes a mistake, he sits on the bench for a bit... I don't know how well that goes over with players in the long run. It's one to thing to play favorites but... when you constantly do it, perhaps you lose some of the respect from the players.. You got a guy like Buff for example, struggled like lots so far, but theres no consequences to his struggles, he still plays his 25 30 minutes a night.... lowry on the PP? I mean that right there is crazy, i get what they are doing but if they think LOWRY on the PP with the same group who hasn't got it done for 2 seasons is the answer, that's crazy talk... I like Maurice but I'm not sure if he's the right coach for a team who seems to be building towards being built on speed and skill. And his interview saturday night where he was talking about thorburn and stuart, saying it's a tough choice to not play them in the game tomorrow, well, is it tho? should it be? I don't think it should be a hard choice at all, i mean, is the idea to try to win or is it to play favorites? Cuz right now, it almost looks like Maurice is playing favorites and that's not a good thing for a coach to be doing. All of them do it, but when you have a team built right now for speed and skill, why would you ever think of putting thorburn or stuart back in there.
  12. And that's what it comes down to, several more guys should have been there, i mentioned Housely and McLean as 2 others including Arniel but... they couldn't make it. I'm sure they all would have loved to play here but their current jobs take precedent i suppose. Can't have every guy that played for the Original Jets in the line up, cant make everyone happy, personally, I thought they did a pretty damn good job. Would it have been cool if a few other guys who weren't there were? You bet, but for the most part, i think they got the main ones, at least the main ones who didn't have prior engagements elsewhere.
  13. Maybe the Moose will have an outdoor game one day, AHL does it also so perhaps they will honor guys like Keane then. I don't know.
  14. Maybe for a season or 2 but Bottom Line, he's an assitant coach in the NHL and wouldn't have come. Just like Housley and Paul Mclean should have been there also but are coaching in the NHL.
  15. Maybe if the Moose had an outdoor game, but Mike Keane was in attendance for sure, he's part of the current Jets staff. I would probably lean towards NO tho, because quite frankly, for as good as Mike Keane and Scott Arniel were when they played for the Moose, neither did play for our PRO hockey teams, and i get the AHL is considered PRO but... in reality, this was about "Winnipeg Hockey" in the NHL and WHA. Not about a Minor League Team like the Moose. To be honest, when i THINK MOOSE legends, or guys of that nature i think more of Cory Schneider, and guys like that... Fedor Fedorov even lol, Rick Rypien even but the problem with that is they were all Vancouver Canucks property. Arniel? Isn't he busy coaching somewhere and Keane? Well, he might be from here but I'd say he's best known for playing for a team like Montreal.
  16. He will. Sooner rather than Later also. Believe that for sure. Kid is very good, plays fast and plays the style of game the Jets like.
  17. He's struggled this year but... the bottom line is prior to these 5 games, and perhaps it's because he's a very streaky type of player, when Stafford scores, it comes in bunches, he'll go 10 games without a goal but then go 5 or 6 in a row with a goal, but prior to this year, he's been pretty good. I mean, he is an NHL calibre player for sure, it's not like he's sucked his whole career, that's just not true at all, He's streaky. Burmi and Connor was the 4th line? Why cuz Sportsnet said so? Lowry and Tanev were the 4th line, they were just matched up against the mcdavid line later on... but Burmi Connor were and has been the 3rd line, Sportsnet really doesn't have much of a clue when it comes to the Jets and that was definitely made known during the game.
  18. Ok so we lose 2 0 instead of 3.
  19. Stafford in his own zone is a mess. He had 3 or 4 chances to clear and didn't resulting in a penalty to the Jets. Stafford really struggled yesterday and has been for 5 games.
  20. Lowry should be a 4th line center. Hes Big he's physical but he can't score. Perfect 4th line center. Copp has more skill than Lowry. Scheif Little Copp Lowry Perreault for Little right now but when little back... Perreault should move back to the wing where he's more effective Laine Scheif Ehlers Perreault Little Wheeler Connor Copp Dano Tanev Lowry Armia YuP no Mathias or Stafford or Burmi cuz they aren't needed
  21. The history or heritage of Winnipeg hockey was honored. You know what... guys like Hawerchuk or Teemu or Steen or etc might be honored by Arizona but they never played there... maybe Steen did but... bottom line those are Winnipeg hockey icons. You think they'd play In an Arizona alumni game? Nah no chance. What they did happened with Winnipeg. Minnesota did it right... north stars moved to Dallas... they got a team back... called them the Wild... had an alumni game and both North Stars and Wild alumni were represented. It's hard tho for the Jets cuz... what? Should Chris Mason or Antropov been here? No. Kovalchuk? No. He has nothing to do with Winnipeg or its hockey history and this is what it's all about... forget the name Jets... it's irrelevant... they could be called the Moose but when you are honoring the history of hockey in Winnipeg... it's WHA... it's 80s... it's 90s. ... it's Jets but more importantly it's about Winnipeg.
  22. It shows that coaching might be an issue. Laine made a bad play... Oilers scored. He was kind of benched a bit. Buff plays like crap... Stafford plays like crap... they get more ice time. It's an issue and sends an interesting but confusing message. Stafford and Lowry on the PP also sends an interesting but confusing message. Coming out flat every 2nd period is similar to a football team who doesn't adjust at the half. I like Maurice but at times he takes to long to adjust and really favors veterans even if they are struggling big time. But I guess I'll steal a quote from Warren Buffet on success... you can't produce a baby In 1 month by getting 9 girls pregnant. What that means Is success takes time and patience. I don't think Maurice is on the clock but at the same time if nothing improves... pp pk etc by game 25 30... then perhaps we can talk about it a bit more.
  23. Similar to Ehlers I'd say. Had his best game vs the leafs. You also have to keep in mind that he's playing with Burmi.
  24. Buff has been the worst D man every game. Myers was good last game and this game. Goaltending? When we don't get 1 goal gonna talk goaltending?
