Bombers Opener June 24 ... (also Laine Day!)
Goalie replied to IC Khari's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I think this is more on the QB scared to get hit. Same in preseason -
It's a good pick but he probably would have been there at 22. I don't mind it but giving up 22 and 36 is not smart

Nichols at least attempts to go deep. Willy is gun shy -

Willy needs to be benched -
Chychrun might fall to 22 but Arizona at 20 seems likely if he's still there

So be it. I'm fine with Puljujarvi. He's very good. But I doubt that they take him.

Detroit Buffalo NYI Tampa and Toronto have all been linked to Stamkos. Minny has been talking to the NYR possibly about a Derrick Stepan for Jonas Brodin trade or plus their pick even. Minny is at an interesting place right now where they are kind of getting older quickly and don't have much in terms of prospects

I think warrior made peace with vince but I've heard lots of conflicting reports about him and hogan. Basically warrior avoided hogan and hogan did the same. Hogan is a world class grade A BS'r so anything he says... I wouldn't believe. He said he made peace with savage also but savages brother called that a load of crap saying hogan and macho didn't speak for years

I'll just say this and be done with this for now. If the Jets weren't gonna take Laine they would probably try and trade pick 2 to Columbus for pick 3 plus. Since it sounds like they aren't going to be doing that.... all signs point to Laine and much like the trouba trade speculation it's all just media bs trying to get hype and get ppl talking

No.

Jets don't need yet another right handed d man who is making 9 million a year. If there is deal to be made with Subban, It's Edmonton for sure. 4th and Yak doesn't get you a sniff, It's 4th and Draisaitl and it's a done deal from Montreal. That's apparently what they want. Yakupov has no value what so ever, his value is that of a late 2nd or early 3rd.

Yup. If they pick JP... it will be because of intangibles and things of that nature, i think overall he does have higher potential than Laine, Laine is a goal scorer, that's what he does but if he's not scoring goals, he's not doing much else... I think Laine is a huge boom or bust type of pick.... I think JP is safer, little less sexier but picking top 2, you want to make sure you get a player that has some upside, Laine has some, how much? it's hard to say, Puljujarvi has a ton... he really does. The guy broke some records of his own at the World Juniors and Under 18's at Grand Forks... With all this being said tho, still think they take Laine... Just not sure why anyone would be shocked if they took Puljujarvi instead...
-
Thing is Puljujarvi is ranked 3rd.... It's not exactly going off the board, It's just taking the guy that's ranked 3rd 2nd... Scheif was ranked around 16th 17th ish so that was a significant jump there, a 1 spot jump isn't what i'd call going off the board.

Not a chance, they will protect him if he's signed to an extension. Look for the Jets to go the 1 3 7 route and that means one or more of Trouba Myers and Enstrom will be moved. If he signs an extension he will be protected, GUARANTEED. Just let's try this here... Let's just pretend they trade Enstrom... Helle Buff Trouba Myers protected 7 forwards protected... Perreault being one. That's the route they will go, one of the D men will be moved FOR SURE.

Yup. 1 guys opinion there for sure. Trust me on this, The Jets scouts know way more than this guy does. This guy is a good source of information but he's a little number happy all the time. The guy is wrong lots. You need to trust the people who have done their due diligence, this guy hasn't talked to laine or puljujarvi, he hasn't done the due diligence that the Jets have. Perhaps in the end he's right but perhaps he's wrong also and Puljujarvi is actually the better player in the long run. Jets really can't go wrong with either of the Finns, that's what some people are missing... Laine is hyped hyped hyped but Puljujarvi isn't some scrub either, he's a very good player also just like Laine. Laine might have the flair and all that stuff but Puljujarvi is just as good.

A guy on the radio who said he is cousin of the flordia panthers new scout richard pollack.... but... yeah, i'll believe it when i see it. Other GM's can't get a peep out of chevy but some guys cousin can? LOL

Sorry but Friedman is just click baiting people. Not a chance the Jets add 22 to Trouba... Cam Fowler is being shopped and the ducks want 8th overall from Buffalo or 9th overall from Montreal, those are the 2 rumored destinations. Not a chance that Jets trade Trouba plus 22 for 4... If they did, they would be stupid. Trouba has more value than that... LOL at the thought that the Jets would be adding. If you are trading Trouba, which i don't think they will do, It's for a LHD.. not another forward. Chevy has already gone on record saying they are open to moving 22, they are looking for a top 9 forward and LHD... Trading for pick 4 is seriously stupid unless then the plan is to trade pick 4 away... Don't need both Laine or Puljujarvi and Tkachuk. Agreed with Mike here big time.

Morrissey is exempt. 2013 drafted players 2014 2015 2016 are all exempt So Morrissey petan connor ehlers comrie roslovic etc are exempt. Lemieux also actually. Guys like Lipon de Leo are not.

If panarin didn't win ghost would have. McDavid finished 3rd in the voting

Columbus can't afford trouba. Anyone check their cap? It's not possible They don't even have the space to sign Seth Jones. They are screwed. Murray is actually an rfa in 2 years. He was drafted 2nd overall the same year trouba was drafted 9th overall. Rfa. Just signed a 2 year bridge. Most I'd do since it's Columbus wanting Laine over Puljujarvi is 2 plus Roslovic for 3 plus Werenski. If Columbus wants Laine that bad and the Jets feel that the difference between Laine and Puljujarvi isn't as huge as some think... Columbus is the one adding to move to 2... not the Jets
-
Columbus apparently calling leafs and Jets about moving up... Something to consider here To Columbus Pick 2. Roslovic To Winnipeg Pick 3 Werenski or Murray Hartnell as a cap dump of sorts Jets get one of the finns, They get LHD help also. Columbus gets their finn plus a future center PLUs some cap relief. I'd consider it for sure. Puljujarvi plus a legit LHD? How couldn't you. That is worth more than Laine is.

You sure like beating dead horses, Picking Tkachuk at 2 would be an epic fail.. If they traded down and took him, that's fine but taking him at 2 is a huge fail.

I hear yeah there but he just said he plays the game like Ovechkin, Laine is not a dirty player out there, as a matter of fact, you look at his penalty minutes and they are very low, I just think in terms of style, that's who he compares himself too. I don't think thats a huge concern at all... Barkov compared himself to Ovechkin his draft year also and went 2nd overall to Florida and has turned in to a stud.. it's just the style they play, Right handed shooting goal scorer really. The character concerns about Laine would be more like giving his coach the finger a few years ago but... everyone is young and stupid at times and it seems like he's learned and that's all you want from a guy. I trust the scouts to make the right decision, if it's laine, so be it. If it's Puljujarvi, so be it. It's going to be one or the other. I just don't think people should get caught up in the hype of one player so much cuz you know that if the Jets take Laine and in 3 years Puljujarvi is the better player, a very real possibility, then people will be crapping on the Jets saying they should have taken Puljujarvi. I guess people need to remember that without Puljujarvi and AHO for that matter feeing Laine the puck at the World Juniors, he wouldn't have scored as much, without Barkov feeding him the puck at the World Championships, he wouldn't have done as much either. Fine line here for sure. People buying the hype too much but reality really is the gap between Laine and Puljujarvi isn't as huge as people are making it out to be. Laine has the flair, the personality, the confidence, kind of rockstar style... Puljujarvi is more humble and down to earth it seems. Wouldn't shock me one bit to see the jets walk up to the podium and say winnipeg selects from Karpat Liiga... Jesse Puljujarvi. Wouldn't shock me if they walked up and said " From Tappara Liiga, Patrick Laine".

Not as much as the scouts know. Bottom Line.
