Yeah it would be awful to have a 50 goal scorer. For the record, I'm pretty sure this is just BOB and other GM's talking out their butts to get clicks and to hype the draft... but the other part says it's a very real possibility that the Jets take Puljujarvi instead. Personally, I'm happy with either one, It's fine with me whoever they pick as long as it is one of Laine or Puljujarvi, Toronto IS taking Matthews BTW, that's a lock for sure. Jets will have their choice between Laine and Puljujarvi and will chose the guy they feel best suits this organization... Looking at it from a Jets perspective, what do they need? They need a sniper, they have the potential to have a couple already tho in Connor and Ehlers and even Scheif for that matter. All 3 of those guys easily could be 30 goal guys if it all goes well so the head says Laine is the guy. However, the Jets do value character and they have done their due diligence here, Character is important to the JETS, it's hugely important. They have all the answers on these guys, If you listened to Chevy he's mentioned they talk to family, friends, teachers, coaches etc... it's not just as simple as holy crap this guy scored a bunch of goals... it's about the person also, how he fits, what he's like off the ice... I just don't think people who have honestly not seen either of these guys play very much should set their hopes so high on one particular player... The fact is, these scouts know more than all of us combined and have a pretty solid draft history actually, i trust their judgment. It's not my ass on the line, it's not theirs either, I'll tell you this much tho, if the Jets are making decisions based on who the fans want, Chevy and his scouts should be fired immediately. Take the guy they want and see what happens. Puljujarvi isn't some scrub either, he's a legit top 6 talent also just like Laine, he can score, he plays a 200 foot game, he's a set up guy, he can actually do it all, he's a damn good player, just like Laine... damn good player, whoever the Jets take, Likely Laine, just seems likely at this point, then I'm fine with, if it's not Laine and it's Puljujarvi, then that's ok too. They will both be very good players and down the line, 3 years from now, nobody really knows who the better player will be.

Buying in to the hype machine 2 much I see. The gap between Laine and Puljujarvi isn't as huge as people make it out to be. But guess we will see what happens Friday Jets value character players. If Laine has any sort of character issues that the jets are aware of... they won't take him. They will take Puljujarvi. It's not always about taking the so called best player. .. it's about character potential fitting in.... among other things. If Jets pass on Laine it means they aren't convinced he's the right guy for this team. I get this feeling that Puljujarvi will be the better player in the long run. People can believe what they want but if the jets pass on Laine they have their reasons. People probably cried when jets took scheif over couturier or Hamilton in 2011 also but that worked out well. Jets know what they are doing and whoever they pick... Laine or Puljujarvi will be the right choice

Mcdavid didn't play the full season. That's why he didn't win it. If he did win it would have been a joke of sorts. Panarin while not a pro hockey rookie was an nhl rookie and was the best rookie all season long
-
All bob is really saying here is there are some teams out there who If picking at 2 would possibly take Puljujarvi over Laine. He doesn't say that the jets are one of those teams tho. It's speculation. It tells me that the jets are very tight lipped about who they are taking at 2 and rightfully so.
-
FWIW I still think laines our guy but have said all along I wouldn't be surprised if they took Puljujarvi instead
-
Some teams obviously feel he does. Buy hey... great response back.
-
They aren't saying that at all. They are saying the gap between Matthews and Laine is greater than the gap between Laine and Puljujarvi. The Laine hype has got so many ppl who have seen him play 5 times believing he's so much better than a guy they've seen once or twice. Lol. No. Actually sounds like a few nhl scours feel Puljujarvi has higher potential hence them telling bob that the jets might take Puljujarvi instead. Tells me there are several teams who would take Puljujarvi over Laine. Laine was at the world championships so therefore all of us non pro scouts love him and think Puljujarvi sucks. If Jets don't take Laine. ..... they have Damn good reasons not to. Who knows what they are but lol at being pissed at getting 1 of the 3 nhl ready players. God. Some of you buy a Laine jersey already?

What has Dano and Armia done at this point to warrant being protected? It's probably one or the other.
-
Have fun while the rest of the city laughs at you for thinking you know more than pro scouts
-
I agree. It seems like people who have barely watched him play are convinced he's some sort of god. I wouldn't say attitude issues but knee injury concerns and the fact that if he's not scoring goals he's not doing much else. Pulujarvi is the better all around player and his potential is probably greater than laines.

I'd trade Enstrom Protect 1 3 7 Helle Buff Trouba Myers Scheif Wheeler Little Lowry Perreault ( new deal) one of Dano or Armia *whoever has the better year or even both. Lose one of Hutch. Stuart. Burmi Thorburn pretty much Burmi is rfa tho so who knows. But it won't be anyone overly significant Of that group I could see Stuart being taken. Veteran presence and has a decent cap hit to help Vegas hit the floor. If Toby waives his NMC which is possible I'd assume they would take him since 5.75 for 1 year helps them even more. I can't see them protecting 30 something enstrom with 1 year left on his deal.
-
Buff is involved. He has to be protected as does Enstrom right now. . Mt guess.... Enstrom is traded.... Jets protect Buff Trouba Myers As for hutch being sent to the ahl.... don't count on it.... they won't risk losing him and having no goalie to expose in the expansion draft. Bet they try and move pav at the draft
-
FWIW Bobby mac from tsn thinks there is a very real chance the jets take Puljujarvi because of his better 200 foot game.
-
I'd take a 6th rounder if it means "losing" Pavs. He has no value. Overpaid and not good
-
Hutch signed 2 years so he's gonna be exposed. Helle will be protected. Comrie is exempt. Pav is ufa so doesn't qualify
-
Saw The Conjuring 2 tonight. Startled me several times. Not scared but just startled lol. Good movie. Def recommend it
-
Maybe we can get a LHD making big money with 1 year left for pavelec
-
I'll bet pavelec is traded or waived. I think they are done with him. He serves no purpose and isn't very good. He's traded or waived to moose... refuses to report and is then suspended and sent home

Question For Anyone Who Has Purchased Heritage Classic Tickets
Goalie replied to Y2C's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
Lol. I'm a JJ also -
True enough. Just noticed. Interesting. Pretty obvious that this is the beginning of the end for Pavelec in Winnipeg. No way jets risk losing hutch on waivers. Not a chance. Wouldn't be surprised to see pavelec traded or bought out now. Perhaps Calgary and we take back a crappy contract like Wideman
-
Nobody mention the Jets signing hutch to a 2 year 1 way deal?
-
Well. To anyone who questions the legitimacy of the wellness policy.... this should put an end to that. Wonder what he did.
-
No wins or losses either... Calgary Winnipeg Edmonton BC SASK TO HAM OTT MTL
-
Thought Raw was real solid. I know Shane doesn't write or book the shows but when he's on and Steph isn't. .. the show is better.
-
Until he proves it he's just another Vessa Toskala or Jonathan Bernier. Anderson is a good goalie but 5 plus a year? For a guy who has played behind a great Anaheim team who will now play behind a very very young Toronto team? Not so sure about that. And BTW... Helle is our goalie of the future
