Goalie

A vet goalie and 3rd pair D don't matter tho if the structure and effort isn't there. Our last 3 games at home. Blow out. Shut out. Blow out. That game against Calgary was great... it's how this team should play. Strong defensively. But.. they don't do it enough. I don't think that's the youth... I think the Vets are struggling the most and the youth have been our best. Can talk about goalies or 3rd pair D or 4th liners or whatever... it's all irrelevant if the effort isn't there. There are no consequences for certain players. People who know more about hockey and Maurice than I do say this team looks eerily similar to Carolina the last year Maurice coached there.

Getting more than 2 shots on goal in a period is 2 much 2 ask also Go watch the Calgary game. Notice the D zone play. Watch this game again. Notice it's nowhere to be found. They didn't deserve to win. The whole team played like and I'll quote Maurice here "horseshit" 2 shots on 4 PP. Zero shots on the 5 on 3. Yeah. Awesome team effort tonight

If we had a team who had more than 2 shots in a period maybe we win also. Always about goaltending tho. Just ignore the other 5 guys on the ice sucking

It can hurt. It can hurt comrie badly. He's a rookie also. You need a veteran backup not a guy who has played zero nhl games. Maybe once we are officially eliminated comrie gets a few games but it won't happen until then.

It was 3 2 after 1. Jets were in it. Had 2 shots in the 2nd. That's not going to be enough

1 game sample size with numbers. Why you do that always? Just curious because it's 1 game and means eff all. Jets need a better backup. Because helle is a good goalie but is being played way 2 much. You need a capable backup so helle doesn't play 10 of the last 12 games . He's a rookie. He needs support and rest. D zone play was total crap tho

Comrie isn't coming up now especially to backup. It won't happen Helle sucked but 2 of those 3 were brutal giveaways. Hutch tool the loss. Montoya wasn't much better. Jets just had no effort. 2 shots in 1 period and 2 shots on 4 Powerplays is pathetic

2 shots on goal in the 2nd after Maurice rants. Maurice is losing the team if he hasn't already. I don't blame him for his rant but he's losing them quickly. Very little effort shown since his rant. games like this get coaches fired

I think the real reason stafford is playing in the top 6 is to get him going so he can be traded at or near the deadline. He played ok the other game. They are probably show casing him a bit here.

Coaches the goalies. Basically that's the best way to explain it. I know it sounds ridiculous but... yup. I guess you can say in practice he works with them on positioning... on rebound control. They have iPads and watch video of the upcoming team focusing on players tendencies and who likes to shoot and where and pretty much.... name it. As a former goalie I've been to many sweat camps and goalie camps and all that and outside of the iPad... everything I did there Flaherty does with helle and Hutch. They don't need to go far to find a goalie coach... moose have a good one in Rick st Croix Washington has a very good goalie coach who came over with trotz from Nashville. Go check out hotby pre trotz and now. Devan Dubnyk is another example. Really praised Sean Burke who is available actually right now but apparently wants to be more than just goalie coach. The right goalie coach will turn an average goalie in to a very good one... the wrong goalie coach can turn a good goalie in to a not so good one

I'll say this and leave Maurice be. If he's back next season I hope huddy and Flaherty aren't. We need a couple new coaches for sure
