Armia or Lipon would be the 2 I'd consider. Probably Lipon since he had a good camp

Oops typos there... Should have been a space between we and re and a letter a It's actually What We are Made Of. -
LOL ladd with Scheif and Ehlers... c'mon Maurice. That's not gonna go well, guess he wants Ladd to drag down Scheif and Ehlers now too? Perreault struggling so you promote him to the top line? This is ass backwards stuff.. Peluso dressing? That helps how? Unreal. Stuart making tons of mistakes and taking dumb penalties every game is still playing? Awesome... no consequences for playing poorly.. nope, promote the unskilled vets like thorburn and peluso and sit the skilled guys.. Awesome. If these lines don't tell you why we are struggling.... my god, i don't know what does. 8-0 St Louis and the Jets don't get 20 shots on goal.
-
His winning track record is 1 season with the only qb outside of mitchell and harris who stayed healthy all year and a receiving group that was bought in free agency.
-
The problem is... Maurice doesn't treat the players equally, the rookies get a very very short leash, one mistake and they are on the bench or sitting... yet Stuart plays every game, Burmi has played every game, Whats the solution tonight? Play Peluso.. Yup. That is not using the roster properly.. we have tons of skill but... instead of promoting the skill and seeing what happens, maurice promotes thorburn to the third line and peluso is gonna play tonight cuz hey, why try to play hockey when you can just take dumb penalties over and over and over with no consequences. You can't sit them all right but... Heres what i'd do.. Myers,Toby <-- they play well together Buff,Chiarot <-- worked well last year Trouba, Pardy <-- why not Stu sits, consequences, a message needs to be sent that taking dumb penalties and playing like crap is unacceptable... Ladd,Little (why break those 2 up), Petan <-- why not, let the guy play with some skill guys Ehlers,Scheif,Wheeler Perreault,Lowry,Stafford <--- Playmaker Perreault with scorer Stafford and big bodied do all the dirty work Lowry 4th line is irrelevant but... Thorburn, Peluso and Burmi need to be benched to once again send a message that dumb play is not acceptable
-
The other thing is.... If the Jets win the stanley cup one day, Will Ladd or Buff be around? Because with Ladd, with Buff, we are a bubble team, they have made the playoffs once as a team with Buff and Ladd on it, just once... They were basically a .500 team for a long time or just above really.... Does trading Buff or Ladd or both... make us better? Short term? Probably not but in a year or 2 or 3... it probably does.
-
I'll go back to last year with the Buff situation... Jets were very good without Buff in the lineup, Buff was actually suspended for the last what? 4 games of the year last year and we played our best damn hockey at that point... It makes you wonder maybe if the Jets rely on Buff too much, yeah he's good when he's good he's really good but when he's bad, he's really bad and the entire team suffers.

I don't want to be this guy but does anyone ever look at from the other perspective here? I mean, I'm not saying what these guys did in Paris was cool, It's not and it's awful but... do we ever stop to think why they are doing this? Like, what made them hate the west so much? I mean, we got news stations like CNN reporting this stuff 24 7... that's fine but... do they report things when the USA or someone like that goes in to Syria lets say or Iraq let's say or Afghanistan even and drops a bomb on a bunch of innocent people? I mean, I think what ISIS stands for is awful and they are terrible people but are they really worse than the Americans who drop bombs or blow up things in their countires? Who stick their noses where it doesn't belong? Who have been trying to wipe these countries out since pretty much the Persian Gulf War... This stuff goes back a long time, it started back then... anyone who doesn't believe so, you are listening to the american based media a little too much.. They never talk about all the innocent civilians and kids that the americans have killed over the years... they don't talk about americans blowing up schools or things like this, churches... etc... They only tell you one side of the story, I'm not saying that what these "terrorists" did is right, but in a small kind of way, I can almost understand their reasoning behind it. I mean, how would you feel, if you lived on that side of the world and for 25 30 years, you go to bed with bombs dropping on your neighbors.. You know, some days in Canada, we can't go to school because of a blizzard, over there they can't because the Americans or Whoever blew up their damn school. I'm not saying i agree with what ISIS is doing or what they are all about, I really don't but at the same time, put yourself in their shoes for a minute... People make a big deal out of 911 and yeah it was awful but 911 has happened 100's of times in these places every year for 30 years pretty much. And people think going to war with them or dropping bombs is the answer? when in reality, going to war and dropping bombs on them is actually what started all this 25 30 years ago? Mind Boggling stuff really when you actually think about it. I've tried to understand for a long time why people would strap bombs on themselves and blow themselves up and take out people with them.. I think i've finally got it, cuz you know what... For years it's because bombs have been dropped on them, they are going to die one way or the other so take some people out with them i guess is their logic... Think about it... WAR is not the answer or the solution, it's the problem.

I think in the big picture, Drew Willy getting hurt had very little to do with MB being let go, it might be one of the reasons, but if there are 10 reasons he was let go, Drew Willy being hurt is probably reason number 10. I think you need to look at the O as a whole, not just as one player... not just with Drew Willy cuz the O was pretty much at the bottom of the league last year and Willy played most of the games... the production was lacking, in game adjustments were non existent or happened to late to make a difference, conservative play calling, getting away from the run game when at times it was actually working... the sacks, not just on Willy but on all our QB's.. Really don't think Willy getting hurt was one of the top reasons MB was let go, like i said, if there are 10 reasons, i'd suspect it's reason 10. There were a lot of issues with O this year, Willy getting hurt just made it worse than it was and it was pretty bad, even with a healthy Drew WIlly. Let's not pretend that our O was lighting up the league last year with MB in charge either, we were pretty much bottom of the league in terms of pretty much everything.
-
Well, this happens every year it seems... make a list of guys we want and then they are all signed by their team prior to FEB 15th... so i agree it's kind of pointless.
-
Unless LAPO has learned to be a bit more aggressive as a play caller the last couple seasons, Not sure I'd have much interest there... maybe tho, i guess it would depend on what he's learned being away from the game, The tie to Drew Willy in SASK i think is interesting and something that shouldn't be over looked. I'd pass on Berry, he's just past his prime.. Right now i'd be leaning more towards a young guy with potential, a Marcus Brady, Jarious Jackson, hell even Khari Jones type...Maas is interesting but at the same time, i'm not sure if he's just not the product of a QB having his best year in ages and a receiving core that was basically bought...
-
We are weak on the left side for sure... but do have some interesting prospects in the future like Kyle Connor... The Right Side is actually pretty strong, guys like Armia even, Lipon in a 4th line role, Roslovic i believe can play Center or the Right Side... Ladd is a slow starter, has been since he has been a JET really, comparing his numbers from the last several years, he's at the pace he normally is at this point... hard to believe I know but pretty much bang on to his point production after 18 games the last several years... I think the Jets making the playoffs last year has set expectations a little unreasonably high this year... Losing Frolik? Sucks but he's not the reason we are struggling, my friend said yeah 7 0 loss to Nashville, good thing they let Frolik go (he didn't want to be here) but... My response was basicallly, yup, instead of 7 0 it would have been 6 0. Jets as a team just look like they are lost, Maurice altered the system from last year a bit and needs to get back to what worked last year... The D is pinching too much, when they all do it, it's not on the player, it's on the system, the system is telling them to do that, could they pinch at better times? sure but... One player doesn't make a difference, altho i'd suspect the goaltending be awful isn't helping... if one position does make a difference, it's the goaltending... Hutch is 915 save percentage, not bad but not top of the league like last year for a stretch, Pav is 901.. that's ugly and back to his career average. I guess this is what happens when PAV has a career year last year, he has come back down to reality this year... the reality we are used to seeing from him, I'm not blaming Pav or Hutch, but... 901 save percentage by PAV is not good enough.
-
LOL. No they don't, they definitely need a top 4 LHD or 2 even but RW? I don't think so Wheeler,Ehlers,Stafford. That's fine. RW is not the issue, the team D is the issue, the systems are the issue... Maurice needs to go back to what worked last year cuz it's pretty obvious it's not working this year...

Don't need Simmonds. He's a RW and that's awful for the Jets
-
Well said.
-
Who do we add cuz no way Philly does that... Burmi plus Postma might be enough. Or Chiarot
-
Honestly, I don't think they have played a full 60 minutes in any game this year. And that right there is the concerning part.
-
Sure, why not. Whatever. WWE Network and Wrestlemania

10 years since Eddie died? Wow. Time flies. Remember that one pretty good actually. That one saddened me -
I'm not gonna go after the rookies cuz quite frankly.... they aren't the problem. The entire D is the big problem and none of them are rookies. Ladd turning pucks over constantly... he's not a rookie. Stafford doing nothing the last several games... he's not a rookie.... Perreault even... not a rookie. The Jets have much bigger issues than Ehlers Petan and Copp who all actually look pretty good most nights... Petan with Scheifs and Wheeler last night looked real good in the third... that was the line creating chances or at least keeping the puck in Nashville Zone.
-
"Superstars" rarely to never make it to free agency. You have to draft them and hope they turn in to one. As for this forum will turn after a couple wins.... I'm not sure about that. When was the last good 60 minutes the Jets have played. It's been a while. Quite a while. Hutch was the reason they beat the Blackhawks... Hawks outplayed them big time. The team has looked bad since their loss to the nyi... just got a couple wins because of good goaltending. Since losing to Montreal they have looked awful and have gotten worse. 7 0 is irrelevant... it's how they played that is concerning. Very little effort. 3 guys show up most games... little wheeler and Scheif... not gonna win with only 3 guys showing up. I'll throw in ehlers too... these 4 guys are trying night in night out... the rest tho look lost
-
Random news eh. Ok. Ronda Rousey got ko'd tonight and lost to Holly Holm.
-
Petan actually looked pretty good when he played with scheif and Wheeler. I'd keep him up. Have him play with some skill guys and see what happens
-
Nobody wants the full team traded. Just some core pieces left over from Atlanta who appear to be part of a problem. Ladd. Buff. Toby. Stuart. Trade then if you can and do it now. We aren't contenders... we aren't a bubble team. Right now don't care what the record Is... we are the worst team in our division. Outscored like 30 13 in last 5 games. That's just awful and change needs to happen. Real change. Time to send a message that this isn't acceptable. Benching Chiarot or whoever doesn't send a message... trading buff Ladd or others does. Firing a coach sends the message that it's not the players that are the problem. It's time for a culture change and it begins with moving guys left over from Atlanta. Little and Wheeler are the only 2 I wouldn't consider moving cuz at least they show up and try on a consistent basis. What 5 or 6 of our wins are against the East? Couple losses too but 5 or 6 of our losses are against the Central and LA

I'd move Myers in a second. His great contract is what makes him attractive. Barrie would make up for the loss of Myers
