Not sure i really agree with that, Chicago isn't a huge team, Minny isn't either... Nashville? Not really, Colorado is built on speed, St Louis? maybe but they have some issues of their own... Size is somewhat over rated, it's how you play, Peluso is a big guy but... i wouldn't want him on the ice for more than 5 minutes a game... Perreault isn't a big guy but... he knows how to position himself and he's strong on the puck... Petan looked the same really, not a big guy at all but... puck possesion and hockey IQ go a long way... When you think about it... Ehlers,Petan,Copp (let's just throw him in there),Burmi They are replacing Frolik, not exactly known to be the toughest or biggest guy, just strong on the puck, good defenisvely... Stempniak, not a big guy at all... Tlusty, again not a big guy at all, Slater... sure he banged some bodies but that's because he was chasing after the puck lots when he was on the ice... It's all about puck possession and these fancy stats that i don't really care about too much... i still think the eye test is the best way to judge a player but... if you actually look at fancy stats like puck possession for example, Jets were top 5 last year... They had the puck more than they didn't for the most part... You add some skill to the lineup and hockey IQ and I wouldnt' be surprised if they were top 5 again this year.

The Raffl decision would be a lot easier to make if he was 21 22 25 and not 29... I think they sign him tho.
-
Except of course for the fact that... the organization has changed quite a lot in the last couple years.. Miller,Walters... these guys weren't the guys who hired and fired 2 coaches after extending them. Eventually, you need to stop looking in to the past and start living in the now or looking to the future. What a different president and GM did 5 years ago, is not the same thing they would do now. Stability is important to this team and we haven't had that in forever. Extend Oshea and can MB and move on.

Well, Harrison on waivers.... and based on what we've heard with Raffl, heard a bunch of different things... so not sure exactly what that means. Raffl probably can and will accept a 2 way deal... There is also the possibilty of them putting a guy on IR... Pardy being the most likely one... Maurice mentioned that Pardy had surgery in the off-season and still looked like he needed some time to recover, he could go to the IR.

Is Khari much of an upgrade if any over Bellefeuille tho? I get the Khari love, and he'd definitely be on my list of possible OC's but i'm not sure if he'd be number 1 or even 2 on that list. Really not sure who is out there but... I'd talk to Howell,Khari, maybe a guy like Damon Allen... Lapolice would be of interest if he was willing to be OC here, where he lives. Khari is probably 2 or 3 on the list... I don't think he'd be much of an upgrade over Marcel. Also will need a new special teams coach.... the guy i'd talk to for that... Noel Prefontaine, helped out here in the pre-season. He'd be a guy on my radar for special teams coach.

Ladd,Little,Petan will start the year as a line. You can pretty much bet on it.
-
Did you watch any games? Petan is a wizard on the ICE, he was probably one of our best players... that Penticton tournament, it's a good idea but.. in reality, it means absolutely nothing in the big picture. It's basically just to get the rust off, It really means nothing. Petan was one of the Jets best players in the pre-season, he's gonna probably start with Ladd and Little on the top line, that's where he's played the last couple games and has not looked out of place at all. Calling it a tournament is also somewhat of a joke as their is no winner of the tournament, there is no trophy given out... Penticton is a good concept but.. it truly means nothing at all. Basically, like i said, it's to get the rust off and for some of them to get ready for the main camp... don't get hurt is the main thing, the rest is just irrelevant really.

Good Luck getting an OC to come here then.

Ohhh for Alberta but Showing Promise

I agree with the OP. Not really surprised at the responses tho. -
He was 16 of 19 to start the season, 6 of his last 13 tho... so something happened there.... not sure what.... perhaps it's something at home, i don't know but... you don't just go from being 16 of 19 to 6 of 13 for no reason. Guys a good kicker, must be something going on there.

I'm not convinced anyone picks up Pardy or Harrison on waivers, theres been better players than them on waivers that's for sure and none have gotten a sniff. I'd waive Harrison, cuz i feel that he wouldn't get picked up.. 2 players to get down to the 23 man roster... Raffl is one for sure, Pardy or Harrison is the other. It's up to Raffl really tho, he accepts a 2 way deal and he probably starts with the Moose, if not... that decision is made for them and it's only 1 of pardy or Harrison that will be waived or traded.

I see a team who hasn't given up yet... they have played pretty well the last 2 weeks, they aren't quitting on their coach that's for sure. This week will be interesting because it's a very important game, we win and we have the season series with BC and are tied in wins then too, BC still has a game in hand tho but as crazy as it sounds, if we win this week vs BC we still have a chance, this is basically the season, a loss and it's next year ville, a win and who knows, stranger things have happened... could 6-12 get them in? It just might... and that's crazy... I'd give MOS an extension this off-season, but 1 with a condition and that condition is to fire Bellefeuille either during our last bye week (if we are eliminated by then) or the minute the season ends. Really does seem like it is the O that has been holding the team back a bit, the D has been good, the Special teams, they are good and they are bad, theres improvements there, the O tho, it's really the same stuff since last year... square pegs in round holes, not using our guys to the best of their abilities, no run game, not even trying to establish a run game even and when we do try too, it's the same run up the middle and get stuffed type of things... Give MOS an extension, Fire MB... release picard and bucknor this off-season, along with Brohm and a few others... and go spend some cash on at least one olineman and see what happens. I don't think we are as far off as some like to think we are... i think you change the OC and you see a huge difference. It's Montreal 2007 all over again.

Lipon sent down the hallway to the Moose. He will be called up a few times tho.
-
Buff prob 4 years 24 million. Nobody will give him more than 5.
-
NFL kickers struggling this weekend too. Big time. NOLA Vs Dallas game insane
-
Yup. Why should I care when they don't. Becoming immune to these. The Sandy Hook one tugged at the heart strings... nothing changed. It never will so now really. .. they get what they get because they didn't do anything about it. Next week or month when it happens again... same old ****

I gotta ask you, have you seen that blowout-loss team, since the backup quarterbacking has improved? Tracker and a few others have had an agenda for a long time now. Facts be dammed man.
-
Except it's not the entire team. One player can screw things. Lirim makes a fg or 2 yesterday and we win. That's on Lirim and Lirim alone. Agendas be dammed

Problem is Burmi looked the same as he did a few years ago. I don't know if it's because once every 40 games he made a nice play or what but the Burmi that was here before was the same one that didn't do much in preseason. Is it cuz he was a high draft pick? He wasn't good. He wasn't very good when he was here before either. I really don't get the Burmi love from some. Good defensively for sure but that's all. He's a 4th liner. 3rd if there's injuries. Just shows you how far this team has come in a couple years. Few years ago Burmi is top 6. Now he's bottom 6. Probably bottom 3.
-
He's at the bottom that's for sure.Believe he was signed when there was no helle or comrie or Phillips. He's probably gonna be a career ECHL goalie. Doubt he gets an AHL action unless Helle is called up. Even then he'd probably sit on the bench
-
His game is and always had been east west. Jets play north south. He doesn't really fit. Unless he changes I don't see it lasting long at all. Too much depth on the team.
-
If an NHL goalie gassed 5 shots between his pads there'd be accountability as he'd be sent down to that team's AHL farm team. But like voodochyle says he'll be allowed to trot out & keep on kicking ..errrrrr.... missing..Nah. He just wouldn't get the start next game. One bad game doesn't mean he'd be sent down. Lirim is odd tho. Started 16 of 19. Since is 6 of 13. Makes you wonder why. Wonder if the holds are off a bit. Guy is mentally strong. He's dealt with lots in his life. Wonder if changing holders would help. I do think you have to dress Castillo next game tho.
-
I think they have and always will have about a 20000 give or take season ticket holder base. If the team improves that will go up but I seriously doubt it drops below that 20 K mark.
-
I don't think so. I think those who do are setting themselves up for disappointment big time. If Burmi can score 10 goals that's a good season for him. I don't think he's a jet for very long tho. Agree that it's more like Petan replacing Frolik. Burmi will be a bottom 6 player. Possibly 4th line to start. Really it speaks more to the depth we have now more than anything. Really not sure why some have this attachment to the guy tho.

It's time for the Riders to start sucking ...
Goalie replied to IC Khari's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
That Rider D is something really awful, they might be in trouble for a few years... Not sure you can fix that D in one off-season, very little canadian depth too. Taman won a cup yup but... man he might have screwed that team for a few years now. Lots of older players too, 4 or 5 players making over 1 million bucks a year, close to 1.5 million probably.... That team is in trouble going forward. one of the oldest if not the oldest teams in the league. Things aren't gonna be pretty in riderville for a little while i think.
