  1. I don't think they will make their decision based on if ehlers needs to go to the Q or not, They will make their decision on which guys are ready... maybe both Ehlers and Petan make the big club, maybe one does, maybe neither do... We will have to see but... I hope they aren't basing that decision on If Ehlers isn't on the JETs he needs to be in junior or europe. That's not good. I think one will make the team and it will be the one who is ready, regardless of his age or his junior eligibility or not. If Petan is better than Ehlers then he makes it and Ehlers goes to Europe or back to the Q. Some of my friends have went and have made a couple interesting comments, one being Petan definitely is the most NHL ready guy on the ice, They then say It's not Ehlers who is next, It's Brendan Lemieux, They say Ehlers has struggled a bit, probably hasn't skated in a while but... They all definitely say that Petan and Lemieux are the guys who are standing out big time. One even said, despite his size, Petan is a man amongst boys. I wouldn't be surprised if Ehlers is sent back to the Q or Europe for another year, Jets won't rush him if he's not ready. He's a good prospect but... Petan might be better. Ehlers gets all the hype but a few people have mentioned that he's put on some weight this off-season, he's apparently 14 pounds heavier than last year... It seems to be hurting his game on the ice a bit... It's like Morrissey last year, Lots of people thought he'd make it, he came in looking huge, looked pumped really but... put on the weight the wrong way and it messed with his game, From all accounts Morrissey has looked very good because he's dropped that weight he put on or did it a better pace this past season. We will see with Ehlers but it wouldn't surprise me if he's not on the Jets and Petan and Lemieux both are.
  2. It was 17-7 really when Brohm was put in, It's the CFL... stick to your game plan but unfortunately that game plan seemed to include no running game cuz when willy was in, we weren't running it either. No running game = You are done really. Especially when your backup who got like no reps during the week is in the game, help him out, put him in a position to be a success out there instead of having him stand back there throwing pass after pass after pass after pass.
  3. Hit in the head of any kind on the QB is a penalty.
  4. I actually agree with this fully. Brohm isn't good at all but he wasn't the reason we got destroyed
  5. Why. Whats it prove really. To appease a bi polar fan base? If we win next week a of you will be jumping for joy and doing cartwheels. It's one Damn game.
  6. What's being pissed prove? Yup they lost. So be it. It's one game. Maybe O'shea lit in to the team in the locker room where it belongs. Why do it In the media? Cuz the fans? Well pardon me here but **** the fans and what they think. These are the fans who get giddy after a win and want ppl fired after a loss. Like Paul Maurice said he could make you cry in the locker room. In public you don't throw ppl under the bus. That's Tim Burke ****
  7. Last year we were what 5-1 6-1 at one point and finished 7-11. When willy comes back. Probably miss 1 game we are 2-1 or 1-2 and people say it's next year country? Seriously? Slight over reactions. Willy might be out 1 or 2 games. Durant and Reilly are out the season really. Perspective people
  8. MB goes way b4 O'shea. The play calling was the issue with brohm last night. It really was. No run game at all. MB rthrew Brohm out in the deep end without a life jacket really. New QB comes in and all you see is pass pass pass pass pass. Should have been more of a hell 50 50 mix even of run and pass but was more like 99 to 1 percent. The O play calling did Brohm no favours at all. He wasn't good but at the same time his OC was just awful. Willy got the head shot but imo MB and Hall had concusions b4 the game started
  9. I don't think anyone is a Marve hater. I just think some people don't think he's ready yet. Yeah he should have got some reps but he didn't. So whatever really. The issue I see with some is Marve can do no wrong. Even when he messes up there's an excuse. He deserves more reps but this love ppl always have for the backups is getting ridiculous. Let him develop properly. Learn to make more than 1 read b4 he takes off cuz that won't won games either. He has potential for sure but he's not some saviour
  10. Petan could make the jump. He stands out always. Wouldn't surprise me to see him on the Jets this fall. So much skill. Maurice talked of a few guys who might be ready now. No doubt petan is one of them.
  11. He takes penalties for sure but I think that can be coached a bit. He's a tough kid. Sticks up for his team mates. 4th liner ideally but him and Lowry together on the third might be interesting
  12. Hate to say this but when the bombers went for 2 and Marve was in. Yikes that was ugly. Ball slips out of his hands. Saved by a penalty but that one pass he did attempt did not inspire much confidence at all. If anything that was pretty much the worst attempt to throw the ball I've ever seen. I like Marve but he's nowhere near ready
  13. Fire Richie Hall? LOL wow, Mike Kelly had a point really.
  14. ha. Probably but... I would have liked to see Marve get some reps, i mean, try something different for sure... but.. i understand the reasoning in keeping brohm in the game. He needs the reps too.
  15. Ticats and Riders for that matter didn't really seem to be going after Hurl so much, they were going more after Bass or Randle, Randles 7 tackles indicates that a lot of plays went his way actually... I know in the rider game, the riders rarely to never ran at Hurl, they for the most part ran at Bass. Just cuz Hurl is the MLB, doesn't mean he's the guy missing plays.
  16. Plus Minus needs to be put in to context a bit, it's not the greatest stat cuz... really, let's put it like this... I'll just use current jets players for this example.. Ladd,Little,Wheeler, Toby,Myers are on the ice. The puck is in our zone.. Wheeler goes to change let's say and while that is happening, the other team gets a scoring chance and eventually puts it in the net but wheeler gets to the bench b4 the puck goes in and Perreault comes on to the ice, well that minus wouldn't go to Wheeler, he was on the bench, it would go to perreault, even tho he just stepped on to the ice and was nowhere near the play. Plus Minus is pretty misleading... Lemieux has some skills, he's probably a bottom 6 guy for sure, ideally on the 4th line... Probably take him over Thorburn and Peluso every day cuz at least the guy has some offensive ability.
  17. I would have liked to see Marve get some reps in the 4th but i'm not kidding myself in to thinking he would have done much different, I mean, last week what worked was a balanced attack, 25 passing, 25 running, now i kind of understand we were down but even b4 that, it was all passing, not much attempt to run the ball at all really. The play calling was suspect from the start, the way to stop a team from blitzing all night and Hamilton certainly was blitzing quite a bit is to run the ball a bit, even a tiny bit, just establish a bit of a run but we couldn't do that, heck we didn't even try too, part of the reason Willy was killed was because it was pass pass pass pass pass pass pass, you get the idea. Brohm comes in and i'm thinking ok, hopefully MB changes it up a bit and goes to the run a bit more, did he do that? NOPE... he let brohm sit back there and get killed on almost every other play too, pretty tough to throw when you got the other teams Defense in your grill all night long and for the most part, that's what Hamilton did. They backed off a bit but, not really.. i mean they went for 2 to get to 56, they weren't exactly calling off the dogs on O or D, Collaros played until like 4 minutes left, Hamilton was playing to win and win big, they did just that. I don't really care if people want to see Marve play but there are a few people here who have made it abundantly clear that if he fails they will be calling for Davis to play. This is insane really, I don't get why people want to ruin promising young qb's.. Marve should have got some reps, at least the 4th or a part of it but... Brohm is the back up and he is the back up for a reason, it's not cuz he's dating bellefeuille or he's MOS's best friend, it's because well, it is what it is really. Marve is in his second year in the league, the constantly calling for the backup and some people even admitting if marve failed they would be calling for the 4th stringer is pretty nuts really. If marve came in and failed, oh my goodness, this board would explode. I remember a few people last year mentioned maybe shutting down posting for 24 hours after a game is over so people can actually think rationally instead of well, basically see the first several pages on this thread, I'm starting to think that's a pretty good idea. Talking about Brohm and Marve? While Brohm wasn't exactly mr consistent last night, he was far from the biggest problem. People seem to be totally ignoring the fact that Hamilton moved the ball at will against us all night long... from start to finish and seem to be ignoring the atrocious ridiculous really bad, let's get all our QB's killed playing calling from our OC. I guess last week was the really good MB, this week, was the really bad.
  18. The D line is the biggest issue by far and the schemes. Honestly I'd say the scheme is the biggest issue
  19. Lots of guys had good college careers and failed up here. Coaches saw those guys everyday. 90 percent of us saw a YouTube highlite video.
  20. Regardless of intent or not it was a head shot. Plain and simple. They call that a penalty 99 times out of 100.
  21. It's cuz hall has them playing 5 to 10 yards off the receivers. It was pitch and catch last night all game long. Too easy for Collaros
  22. I'd try Washington at Sam. Move Randle back to corner. Sit Bucknor and start an American at hb
  23. Pretty tough to blame dbs when they are playing 5 to 10 yards off the receivers. That's a scheme thing
  24. Willy was by the tunnel. Probably didn't wanna cause a distraction
  25. Or there's always the fact that this isn't Richards first time. Stoll is not employed by them either.
