Last thing I'll say about Frolik cuz i was pretty convinced he was gone the second he could be, Losing Frolik in my opinion, it might hurt us in the short term, then again it might not but in the long term, This team is built around the kids really plus a few vets like Ladd,Little,Wheeler but for the most part... it's all about the kids, draft and develop from day 1, we got frolik for next to nothing, we lost him for nothing.. it is what it is, the writing was on the wall when he signed a 1 year deal last season... it was obvious he was gone then.. .guaranteed if we weren't fighting for a playoff spot he would have been sent packing last season near the deadline but we were so... you win some, you lose some really and we move on with the youth movement really that has been happening since day 1 of the Jets rebirth really. Was Frolik a good player? for sure, was he the difference between contending and pretending? Nope not at all, on a good team he's a 3rd line winger really... Maybe some Jets fans think he's better than he actually is but... reality is, he's a good 3rd line winger on a good team and a PK guy... If he's in your top 6, you probably aren't gonna be going very far... With all that being said tho... if his wife wanted to leave then so be it, what can you do.. Is it too cold here for her? Boo Hoo really... not enough to do? I want players on this team who want to be here not because there wife said its ok but because they want to be here.. I want guys like Little,Wheeler,Ladd etc, Perreault who have all signed new deals since the rebirth of the Jets, People totally forget that Ladd signed a new deal with us in 2011 don't they?

1.Calgary - last year is irrelevant now since there is so much roster change year to year however... 2. Winnipeg - Did anybody but Bombers fans actually expect us to win? and do it by moving the ball so easily really (25 pass, 25 rush) 3. Toronto- Did anyone regardless of the injury to reilly cuz they were dominating them even when reilly played expect this? 4. Ottawa - It pains me to put them here but i have to have the winners of week 1 first 5. BC - they didn't play, they haven't lost 6.Hamilton - best of the losers in week 1 7. Sask - Didn't get as owned as... 8. Edmonton - they looked terrible 9. Montreal - they did too But on a side note, the rankings mean nothing at all. It's just something to get annoyed with really and honestly, don't think the rankings are worth getting annoyed with even.

52 points for a 40 year old player ain't so bad. Guy obviously had skills, probably decided that it's not worth his time to come back another year and play for less than what he made this past year. I think St Louis was probably a guy who didn't get as many (if he got any all) offers and the ones he did get (if he did get them even) were for way cheap. Demanded a trade to NEW York only so really if the Rangers,Islanders and even Devils had no interest (not sure any of them would have) then yup, makes sense as to why he would retire instead of maybe take a deal elsewhere. I'm not convinced that St Louis had many if any teams wanting him tho, 40 years old. Good Career tho but man, what a brutal way to end it really... Always thought he was a classy player on and off the ice but the demanding of the trade and then the whole issue with Team Canada there (which lead to his demanding of a trade really) were definitely some low moments for St Louis. I look at St Louis and i see a good reason why the NHL should probably make No trade Clauses and things of this nature a thing of the past, he really did kind of put Tampa in a tough spot, they got lucky cuz Callahan but... These guys are making millions upon millions of dollars and are saying " i only want to be traded here". That's ridiculous, that and guaranteed contracts are 2 things i would love to see the owners get rid of next lockout, even if it means missing a season, and there will be another lockout for sure... salarys are getting out of control again.. Not for a while but there will be one again.

I think Froliks wife had a say in this. His one quote about having a family now leads me to believe that he was gone and there was nothing the jets could do besides massively over pay him that would change his mind. Oh well. One less allan Walsh client to deal with
-
Buff to Philly makes little sense for Philly who is stacked with d prospects. Islanders or maybe Washington or even Florida make more sense
-
Dano will be very good. Chicago got a very good cost controlled young player plus
-
4.3 for a guy who ideally plays 3rd line is Def an overpayment IMO. Maybe the fact that it's a 5 year deal makes me think overpayment. Is Frolik top 6 in calgary? Hudler Monahan Guedreau Bennett. Hmm. Ya probably second line. Maybe not a bad deal but I think he's a 3rd liner on a really good team. 4.3 on a 5 year deal is steep
-
Buff would get you a nice package for sure. I hope they move him. I like buff but I'd move him yesterday if I were the jets. He'd get a ton back. A first a prospect and a roster player for sure.
-
No doubt. What a silly thing to say really. That one made me go hmm for sure. Honestly trading buff is probably the best move for the long term of the franchise. Keeping him and letting him walk for free tho. Yikes. Decision needs to be made on buff b4 start of season.
-
Frolik and Mike Green are the only over payments. That's what happens tho when the fa crop is garbage for the most part. Sekera might be too. He's good but he's not elite however I'd take him at 5.5 over green at 6

Lipon Burmi Thorbs
-
Let's try... Ladd Little Stafford Ehlers Scheif Wheeler Perreault Lowry Burmi Not sure about 4th line but Armia Petan Copp are all options as are Thorbs peluso and Halischuk. So is JC Lipon who plays very much a 4th line energy type of game. Also need to remember maybe we aren't done yet. Maybe a trade is made. Buff being most likely. There's also the option of Burmi as 4th line center too. Natural position really. Armia could move to third line. Chevy mentioned Armia specifically today so he's gonna get a shot. He's a 2011 draft guy like Scheifs and Lowry
-
3.25 per year. 2 years That ship was probably never even In the Jets lake or even close to it.
-
It's time for the armias lipons petans ehlers copps to take over.
-
Every free agent frenzy some fans get worked up because this guy got let go or this guy did too. Better get used to losing bottom 6 guys and fringe players cuz our prospect cupboard is stacked and gonna have to make room for them. Those Atlanta drafted prospects are almost all gone now. O'Dell was one of them had his chances and never took advantage. I liked him but he's a fringe nhl player. That's all. Pretty much career ahl guy.
-
That draft and develop model seems to be working. Scheif trouba Lowry. Helle gonna be good so will many others. This has been the plan since day 1 really.

[MERGED] July 2 Game Thread (Depth Charts included)
Goalie replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Neufeld moved to one game IR. Leggett will be back starting tomorrow as wright was moved to the PR -
It also tells me no team sees O'Dell as an nhl regular cuz he took a 2 way deal.
-
Depth this year will be the younger guys. 3rd or 4th line plugs need not apply. Slater is gone. He's a plug. Don't need those career plugs taking time away from the kids
-
Ladd will sign long term. Just a matter of a few days. Buff could be moved if he wants too much. Ladd is the captain and face of the team. If jets could only sign one it's Ladd every time. Not to mention the whole trouba Myers top 2 RHD thing
-
Just like Frolik wanted to go elsewhere the same can be said for Hamilton. He wanted 7.5 x 8 from Boston. They wouldn't do it cuz they couldn't. He took a lesser deal with Calgary. Fro didn't wanna be here either. Lol at the no depth statement tho.
-
1.5 and 1.6 for Burmi. It's all over twitter
-
Ehlers and Burmi can play either side
-
Guess he didn't wanna be here. Happy wife happy life
-
They like Winnik. He was close to signing last season. Be a good pk guy to have. Jets won't overpay but they might sign a couple guys. Watch them sign a guy to a cheap deal similar to Perreault last year. People will be like wtf they doing then as the year goes on that signing will be the best value signing of the season. Weak class tho.
