Penton: Bombers are "talking to" Lin-J Shell (update: added to PR)
Goalie replied to Mike's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Meanwhile Vega signs in Toronto as does Whittaker and we talking about us signing a washed up player? Wow. -
No wins or losses predictions so we'll just go... Calgary Edmonton Winnipeg Sask BC Hamilton Toronto Montreal Ottawa

There is a crazy rumor going around that have the Jets trying to trade up to 3 to grab one of hanifin provorov or werenski, all d men. The rumor is by a guy on the Jets site who is pretty damn bang on 99 percent of the time and it involves one of our picks in this years draft, josh morrissey and a unknown prospect (possibly burmistrov) to Arizona for 3rd overall. I think it's far fetched but the guy is pretty much right all the time so who knows. AZ really likes Morrissey lots and apparently the Jets really want an NHL ready LH D man, they really like Hanifin apparently.

It's time for the Riders to start sucking ...
Goalie replied to IC Khari's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Wright too probably for a game or 2. Bass too no? We probably got about 5 or so rookie starters. -
Theres about 40 players on the ice so i'd imagine it's b4 the game and i don't see that many empty seats. Wild draw really well.

I think Burmi is over rated severly and was a huge reach when Atlanta picked him.

Odds and Sods.....X2 Game, Hamilton at Winnipeg
Goalie replied to do or die's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Marve has gotten the garbage time in pre-season bro, he's playing against guys who are no longer on the teams he played against. To suggest Marve played in more demanding situations is complete BS really... Marve has played against the other teams 3rd stringers for the most part, he's been the qb that got the reps in the 3rd and 4th quarters, more so the 4th quarter. As a matter of fact this past week, he was the last guy in the game playing against guys who were just cut by Hamilton. I like Marve but... i would suggest you seem to have a little bit of a love affair with the guy... I'll take the pros words over the Joes anyday of the week and twice on Sundays. This is what i'll never understand on these fan forums, we are fans, that's what we are, yeah we have some knowledge but, our knowledge combined is nothing compared to what the guys who actually do it for a living have. I think sometimes, we may forget that and think we have all the answers when in reality, we have very little answers. We base our thoughts on what? 10 15 30 plays? The pros base their thoughts on hours upon hours upon hours of film and practice reps.. videos, all sorts of things, just cuz a guy goes out there and moves the ball, doesn't mean he's doing what he's supposed to do... 15 20 30 plays... vs hours upon hours of film and practice . -

Only thing I'll say about Marve is the guy has tons of potential and definitely brings a spark to the team, he's a good change of pace QB however, with that being said, if you want to ruin a prospect QB in the CFL, you play him before he's actually ready. Marve isn't ready yet, he might be soon but he isn't there yet. What JBR said is true, teams now have film on him, he won't surprise them anymore, he needs to learn to pass first, needs to go through his reads, not just the first one but all of them, then if nothing there, go ahead and take off.. but for the most part, it's one read and then run... yeah it's exciting he gets a 15 20 yard run, awesome but if he went through his other reads, maybe just maybe he would have gotten a 20 30 40 yard pass out of it. The worst thing you can do is rush a qb before they are ready, that's the way careers are ruined.. You want him to be a good one in the future? You develop him slowly and let him learn the game and learn to become a CFL qb, that means reading the D, standing in the pocket, going through all your reads... He's exciting to watch but... i feel these run first qb's like Marve is right now are doomed to be carted off the field one day... who was the hamilton qb last year? Was it lefevour? or someone else? not sure but the guys season ended because he'd basically look at one read and then take off... got caught doing that and was carted off the field. But really isn't it just the winnipeg way really... the backups always get all the love... I'll never forget that game in the mike kelly year there, fans were booing qb's off the field left right and center, kelly i guess being insane decided to actually listen and used all the qb's and they all looked like total crap cuz none of them were actually ready, all those guys are now gone and selling cars somewhere. The worst thing you can do is rush a qb, the guy is a CFL rookie pretty much, 1 year under his belt, takes longer than 1 year for QB's to develop in the CFL that's for damn sure. I'm not comparing Marve to him but... didn't people say these things about Brian Randall too or whatever his name was? -
Actually with his agent Liut and he's talking contract for sure, remains to be seen if that is a contract the Jets will want to sign, depends what his demands are and depends who even put that rumor out there, it might be the Jets trying to see if anyone is willing to trade for him. Honestly, i could care less if Burmistrov signs or is traded, I don't think he's as great as some think he will be and i don't think he's as bad as others do. I see him being a good bottom 6 player, that is all tho, bottom 6 plus PK but.. if his attitude hasn't changed and that's the big question, i see the Jets trading him even if they do sign him, I think a signed Burmistrov gets more than a non signed Burmistrov.

If you manage to pluck someone off a PR, you would have to place them on your 46 man roster. That's pretty much what i thought so i don't see the bombers doing that.

Oilers Fire Primary Scouting Staff Five Days Before Draft
Goalie replied to Rich's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
The reality in this, regardless what Oiler fans who always seem to be in some sort of form of denial about their team is, outside of the first round picks the oilers have had, none of their draft picks are really worth anything. Outside of the consesus can't miss but apparently they have missed on some picks, the Oilers have found nothing. Now someone will wing off a bunch of guys who at best are 4th liners or 3rd pairing d man, but... it's the truth. The scouting staff was fired cuz quite frankly outside of the top picks, they have basically found nobody at all yet. There is no depth, none what so ever, that's why the oilers are forced to go out and over pay for free agents. Getting rid of that scouting staff was long over due, Oilers have made some good moves this off-season so far, They are actually my next favorite Canadian team outside of the Jets so i hope they do well... but, you can change management, you can change coaches over and over and over, you can change the scouting team but until you actually go out there and change some of the guys on the ice, same old same old. I hope the Oilers actually do make some moves at the draft, they are the team i'm most interested in seeing what they do at the draft cuz they got some holes to fill, big ones too. -
Gordon is also 21. Veltung is older no? Gordon has more potential than Veltung due to age.
-
Nobody really interests me other than Saunders as a replacement until Stouds is healthy again. Plucking guys off other PR's, i just don't see it happening, that guy would have to agree to it first of all and second of all, would a guy agree to move from one practice roster to the other? cuz none of these PR guys mentioned are really ready to be on the active roster yet or they would be with their current team.. I don't see guys saying yeah ok ill leave for example Montreals PR for Winnipegs. No problem. Haidara? Why both, dudes obviously a huge bust, i mean really... why not call up Jordan Sisco or Etienne for that matter and give them a shot. Seriously, he's a bust, i know some people had a love affair with the guy but all indications are he is a bust.
-
Argos add Jason Vega to the PR.
-
Stewart? Nope wouldn't touch him with a 10000000000 foot pole, guy shows up once every 20 games or so. He will get more elsewhere, doesn't seem to be the type of player the Jets want or are looking for. Someone will over pay and think he will finally reach that potential he had years ago but.. he won't. He's a bust free agent signing if there ever was one.. Justin Williams? Might be interesting, wants to go to a team who has a chance to win tho, not sure that is the JETS. We are a bubble team, very much a bubble team, that doesn't change this season either, it's not like we are gonna go from being a bubble team who barely makes it to some dominant contender in a year, might even see us regress a bit this season. Gotta stop thinking the JEts are gonna be big players come free agent day, the free agents this year is the weakest group it's been in a very long time, you don't build your team through free agency, maybe we sign some depth, maybe we don't sign anyone at all. People make a big deal out of the free agent frenzy thing but really, Being a Jets fan, we shouldn't cuz we will never ever be active on that day. It just won't happen, Chevy will not overpay for these guys and that's what some people will do. Perhaps this year people won't overpay cuz the free agent class is so weak.. I like Frolik and wish he would sign here for a reasonable amount and length and be relegated to the third line where he truly belongs but someone is gonna massively over pay to get him and i doubt its the JETS, basically when Frolik is one of the top 3 or 4 free agents out there, it's a weak class, a guy who on a good team should be playing third line and penalty killing, yup.. weak class this year, honestly, not even gonna watch the free agent frenzy this year, it's pointless, Jets won't be involved in it at all. Maybe we sign a guy like a Perreault last year and people go oh god, what the heck type of signing is that but in the end, it's a good value signing. 3 million a year for Perreault. That's good Value. Not gonna find that type of value this year that's for sure, weakest class in ages.

CFL 2015 Week 1 Preview And Predictions
Goalie replied to USABomberfan's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Als Esks Cats Bombers. Side note... the ticats have been to the last 2 grey cups. They are very good and should dominate in the east and give lots of problems to teams in the west. -
Or maybe since 2 are new to the team and our Sam is our best dB we are willing to give them a chance first?

Def making the playoffs will be remembered. The white out

Kptn. You seem to love to toot your own horn..seen 2 posts from you today and both are about how you can basically see the future. Fun fact about Collaros tho. We might have wanted him but he didn't want to come here -

Argos gonna sign Whittaker. Milo really likes him. -
It's been sad before but needs repeating cuz some don't get it still. The preseason means nothing. It's about evaluations. Let's see what happens now and who steps up. We got some new talent in adams bass Westerman even and Darrell Johnson who might surprise some people. Veltung even. Not to mention couple PR guys in freeman and Gordon who have potential too.

Wright could be a Sam candidate when moe is healthy and you go.... wright Hurl Bass with Randle Washington Johnson and Adams. Right now I see 8 starting Canadians. Perhaps Bucknor is replaced when moe is healthy and they go back to 7
