Not surprised about any of them really. To get better you need better players. I don't think Harris takes Washington's spot tho. I think he's the vet dB like Shell was. Not convinced Harris makes the team. So who so we go after... obviously medlock or waters. I think A Harris is a lock. Be nice to get Messam too. Gotta get another receiver... maybe smith from sask. And gotta go after some DL. Capicotti or Laurent would be huge.

Ehlers is on pace for about 45 points. As a rookie that's pretty good. Armia isn't 19 tho. He's 22 or something. But with that being said... I don't get how Burmi does nothing but is on the third line and Armia who showed signs of improvement playing with better players is on the 4th. Ladd Lowry Armia would be better in my opinion but I'm not the coach. I think Armia deserves a chance to play more and has more potential than Burmi does. Bogo Kane Burmi were the last 3 Atlanta draft picks. Well first rounders. 2 are gone and I'd suspect soon... all 3 will be. I'll say this... if the Jets are around in 2010 I don't think they take Burmi. I'm not convinced they would have picked Kane or Bogo either. Just based on their criteria which seems to be based on character and hockey sense.

You need to understand that Frolik didn't want to be here and Frolik or Stempniak or whatever guy people wanna throw out from last year who isn't here this year doesn't make this team go from tied for 2nd last to a playoff spot. The team has bigger issues. Jets were rumored to have actually offered Frolik more money than Calgary did. He didn't want to be here. Hey. Look we are tied with Calgary for 2nd last. Armia is a good player but those 2 fins are better and have higher upside. It's just reality. I like armia but.... those 2 Finnish kids are way better overall. Whole package there. You do also realize that in 19 games armia has 3 points? Not exactly lighting it up and I get he's not playing with good linemates but 3 points in 19 games isn't good.

Agreed with Ducky thar Burmi is a 4th liner at best. Sorry but he has no offensive finish at all. He's a good checker tho... but has zero finish. Same with Lowry. Belongs on the 4th line. Right now I'd trade Burmi for just about anything at this time cuz the guys just not good. Yeah he can dangle but so what.... he can't finish.

This team needs a rebuild of sorts. Move Ladd. I'm torn on buff cuz even with him gone... Trouba Myers are there plus Hamonic preferred destination aka only place that he will accept a trade 2 is here. Rhd is stacked. Torn cuz I love buff but... I think a rebuild is necessary. Someone mentioned that this team crumbles without him. Well... this year they have crumbled with him. Would love to sign him tho but... at the same time I think there needs to be significant change. Scares me that Chevy wants to sign both cuz IMO he doesn't recognize the problems that exist with this team

Some thoughts that with Ladd and Toby taking a "maintenance day" today that the real reason is Chevy is close to a deal with someone. Not sure I'd trade both for just Hamonic tho. Maybe Enstrom for Hamonic. Throw in Burmi if need be and Ladd to somewhere else. Hamonic would be nice but I don't think I'd do both Ladd and Toby for him. That's an overpayment for a guy who rumour has it will only accept a trade to Winnipeg

Nope. That's not it at all. I like Ladd and was hoping they would have signed him in the off season. But am now glad they didn't cuz he's definitely not playing like a guy who deserves more than 6 million a year long term. I also think with Ehlers Connor and even Perreault that Ladd is easily replaceable and in a way has already been replaced. LW depth isn't that bad here. I'm fine with Ehlers Perreault and Connor next year. Where does Ladd fit? Especially for 6 million plus a year. He doesn't.

Not really. Dub is just average, he's come back to reality again. Minnesota is in trouble, just like a few of the central teams in a few years time.

Plus Minus is nothing, it means nothing, Goal Differential, it's irrelevant too. Ideally you want to be scoring more goals than you are giving up for sure, that's how it works, you score more you win, after all hockey like football and every other sport is about who scores the most. However, with that being said, Giving up empty net goals makes no difference, you are losing regardless. Like i said, 4 3 loss in regulation is the same as a 5 3 loss with an empty netter or even a 10 0 loss in regulation, it's all the same. You get zero points. The idea is to get points, ideally 2, at the least 1, in those games that we have given up empty net goals... it's irrelevant cuz if the score was let's say 4 3 and we pulled the goal and the other team made it 5 3, when the whistle blew at the end of the game, the game ended up 5 3. We didn't score to make it 5 4. The only time i think Empty Net goals are relevant is when you actually score after the other team has scored on the empty net... Like for example, yesterday, say dallas scores with 40 seconds left but then the next shift we come back and score to make it 5 4. The difference would then be the empty net goal but in most/all case this year, that hasn't happened. Yeah so let's say we have given up 20 empty net goals (bet it's around there if not more actually).yeah our goal differential might be closer if those goals didn't go in but... the reality is, we still would have lost all those games. We aren't losing games cuz the other team is scoring on empty nets. That's really the bottom line there, we are losing games cuz we aren't scoring enough goals to win. 1 empty net goal here, 2 there, a loss is a loss is a loss really. Yeah without those empty net goals maybe our goal differential isn't as lopsided as it is but... we'd still be where we are in the standings regardless of giving up empty net goals. When have we scored when we pulled the goalie this year? We haven't i don't think so, regardless we still lose, we still get no points, our goal differential might be closer but... the points total which in the big picture is all that matters is the same.

I also have to laugh but for a different reason. I'm laughing cuz all the talk here seems to be about singing Macho Harris but ignoring the fact that they signed a pretty damn impressive sounding defensive end who they have wanted for a while. I think when it gets down to crunch time, nobody is gonna be talking about Harris and people will hopefully be talking about Green, I think this Green guy has a ton of potential to be a very good player for us.

Stafford is a stop gap, I'd bet if Frolik was willing to sign a 2 year deal like Stafford he would be here too, he's just here filling a spot until someone else is ready to take it. Stafford is ok, but he is what he is, I'd actually rate him pretty decently in the O zone but really poor in the D zone, yeah he scores goals but plays he makes leads directly or indirectly to goals against us also. He's a vet also so he's not gonna get any better. I guess maybe, people prefer the devil they know to the devils they don't know? I don't know lol. But the thing with the ELC guys, they are gonna get better and better and better and better, Stafford, he is what he is and that's what he will always be now. I think the Jets trade him at deadline next season and i think they probably get at best a 2nd round pick back.

Last thing... @FrostyWinnipeg You need to get over this idea that empty net goals actually matter, they don't, goal differential is really irrelevant. It actually is totally irrelevant. Yeah they give up a ton of empty net goals but you know what that actually means? It means they have been down a ton with a minute or so left in the game, if you lose in regulation, losing 5 3 is the same as losing 4 3. It's a loss and you get no points.
