Ticats blaming it on injuries and roster bonus's. Say what you will but to me it sounds pretty believable, ticats had tons of injuries last year to several players.

I think game 2 is going to be a gong show, subban should have got suspended, he's not going to be so the sens will take matters in to their own hands really. Not suspending subban was probably the dumbest thing the league could do, cuz now if/when game 2 gets out of control, since you didn't suspend subban, how could you suspend another player for doing something similar. This is on the league, Quintal was a former montreal player, surely that didn't play a role in the non suspension did it?

Ehlers scores OT winner in game seven against Shawinigan
Goalie replied to Mr. Perfect's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
Slightly. Guy has 25 points or something and the mooseheads have scored 35 goals. Been a part of 71 or so percent of their scoring. He's too good for junior -
The way to take both perry and Getzlaf out is simple. Hit them hard and often. Hit the ducks D men every chance you get especially lindholm as he is normally the guy feeding passes to these guys
-
The Ducks aren't as deep as people like to think, like the article or blog said, outside of kesler, getzlaf and perry, they don't have much scoring. Perry can easily be knocked off his game, Kesler too, The Jets have a deeper roster, scoring throughout really, they might not have a bunch of 30 goal scorers but they have a few 20 goal scorers and lots of guys who scored 10 or more. Jets do need to win 1 in Anaheim, preferably game 1 actually. If they do, I think they take it in 6. There isn't much difference between the 1st seeded ducks who played in a division where they got to play edmonton and arizona a bunch of times and the 8th seeded jets who at 99 points could easily have been well over 100 with some luck or some late game gaffs, that goal pav let in vs st louis, that late goal they let in vs san jose, thats 2 more points right there, Should have beaten Colorado too, This series is closer than some people want to admit, I can see why the Jets are being picked to win by lots of people... It's all about history, ducks choke in the playoffs, you take out one of perry or getzlaf and that team doesn't really have the depth, they have 3 high priced scorers, you remove 1 and they aren't that big of a threat... Bruce Boudreau is known to choke in the playoffs too. I dunno, i just don't see how any team in the west could be considered a favorite or under dog, they are all really good teams, all of them, Jets played in the ultra competitive central division, all teams finished with 90 points or more.. Ducks played in a division that had 2 of the worst 5 teams in the league.. Jets easily could win this series, easily. Ducks could too tho. The fun part about playoffs, what you did in the regular season doesn't matter anymore, it's a new season really. First team to win 16 games wins it all... Jets played meaningful games down the stretch, ducks did not, ducks have actually played like garbage the last month or so, that matters a bit.. i realize i just said what you did in the regular season is irrelevant now but.. you do want to be playing your best at this time of the year and reality is, the jets have been and the ducks haven't.

Round 1 - Game 1 : Jets @ Anaheim

First place as a result of playing Edmonton and Arizona a bunch of times -
Slater is a 4th line center, copp is cheaper and will be better in the long run, I just don't see the Jets signing slater.
-
Frolik,Stafford,Stempniak,Tlusty,Slater Let's just pretend slater gets 1.6 million for one year, doubt it, but let's just use that number because that's what was said earlier in the thread.. Well that's 1.6 million you can't give to Frolik,Stafford or Stempniak, Personally i think Tlusty is as good as gone, i just don't see him sticking around to play 4th line minutes... I'd take slaters 1.6 and give it to any of those other 3 over slater any day of the week. Slater is good at faceoffs? Sure but that's about all he's good at really, people talk about the PK but.. really he's not that great at it, he's just average as our entire PK was just average really and he's an older player, if you have younger guys who are ready, you always take that guy over the over 30 year old 4th liner.. Personally, I'd let slater go and i'd take the money he'd get and give it to one of stafford frolik and stempniak, Hell bet you can get stempniak for less than 1/6 and he brings more plus is also a very good penalty killer. Copp wouldn't have been signed if they didn't think he was ready.

I think Hamilton is the team to beat in the east, I think Montreal comes down to reality, I think Crompton isn't as good as some people seem to think. I see Hamilton finishing first in the east and easily. Crompton won't have Deron Carter there to bail him out anymore, they are an older team too, stamps ain't the same as he used to be, that receiving group isn't that impressive really.. I'm not sure Montreal even gets in as i think Ottawa will be improved, but by how much? I'm not sure.

Round 1 - Game 1 : Jets @ Anaheim
Goalie replied to FrostyWinnipeg's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
Ducks played in a much easier division getting to play teams like Arizona and Edmonton a few more times, we played in a division where every team, EVERY ONE OF THEM, finished with 90 points or more. Ducks were killing it earlier in the year, running away with it, thought they'd be presidents trophy winners at one point but something happened there, they haven't played as well recently, their goaltending is just as questionable as ours, Gibson hasn't been so good this year and Anderson is hot and cold, Who is even starting for them? They don't even know. I think we match up well vs the DUCKS, we played that playoff style, tight checking hard hitting, good D game most of the season, ducks didn't... Ducks tend to choke in the playoffs and when the going gets tough, guys like Perry and Getzlaf are known to become hotheads and get out of control doing more harm than good for the DUCKS. I dunno, head says Ducks win but.. Heart says Jets shock some people here and take it in 6 games. I dunno, this is gonna be a good series and i'm gonna predict that the winner of this series goes to the western conference finals regardless of who wins between calgary and vancouver, If we win our next opponent would be the winner of the calgary/vancouver series. Get by the ducks and we could easily make it to the conference finals vs one of Minny St Louis or Chicago I'm guessing. Part of me thinks us and St Louis are destined to meet in these playoffs and the only way that happens is in the western conference finals. -
Gonna say it. Who cares really.

Honda Centre in Anaheim says Thursday and Saturday -
Slater is done for sure. Copp will be 4th line center. Doubt they sign slater
-
The away jerseys are just nicer in my opinion. Whiteout has nothing to do with jersey color
-
The Hawks are built on star power tho. Toews and Kane are gonna be making 10 11 million a year starting next season. Each. Hawks are in trouble with the cap big time
-
Hawks are gonna be in Cap hell. They already are.
-
I don't think the KINGS are as good as they were last year, there is a reason they missed the playoffs, it's not because of the last 3 games either, it's because the entire season they just weren't as good as 8 other teams in the west... Time catches up with some teams, Confidence might play a role but i would expect the kings to make some changes this summer, they can't go in to next season with Richards and that contract taking all that cap space.. there are some teams and the kings may be one of them who are tight against the cap and may have to shed significant amounts of salary just to actually be at the cap next year, Hawks are another, Bruins are one too, I believe the Flyers might be also.. Theres actually about 5 or 6 teams who are going to be in cap hell, they don't have much room to sign guys unless they dump some salary first really... This is gonna be an interesting off-season to say the least in the NHL. Penguins are another team who might have to make some changes... It's gonna be interesting for sure. Some of these teams have like 2 million in cap space and need to sign like 6 7 8 guys still for next season, The tides they are a changing a wee bit... Believe someone on here or elsewhere asked whats the likilhood that both the jets and flames get in and the kings and sharks don't... Moving forward, i'd say its more likely the Jets and Flames get in than the kings and sharks...

True North actually trademarked Whiteout in Canada... ARIZONA and whoever else, MIAMI heat for that matter can use it all they want, if someone else in Canada did it tho, They would have to pay True North.
-
Someone can wake up Floyd, they added another d lineman today.
-
Myers/Toby is pair 1 and they were when Buff was healthy and not suspended If you want to get all techincal in terms of d pairings 1 2 and 3... Buff was playing with Pardy the last few games aka pair 3 No doubt about it It's gonna be Myers/Toby Trouba/Stuart Buff/Chiarot or Pardy <-- could see one guy play one game and the other the next even but personally i think a healthy chiarot gets in over a healthy pardy. Just my opinion but.. I think it makes more sense to play Chiarot than Pardy.. If you only gonna play pardy cuz he's good at penalty killing, I don't like it.. You play your 6 best d men and imo, those are Myers/Toby, Trouba/Stuart and Buff/Chiarot The easy way to avoid having to kill penalties is you don't take any and honestly from watching playoffs in the past, you gotta almost kill a guy to get a penalty, refs aren't gonna be calling chincy penalties anymore, it's gonna have to be blatant and obvious.

Nashville has been on somewhat of a downward spiral the last 20 games or so, not looking so good recently. I think that skews the votes for Laviolette, I think the media is pushing for Hartley but... Maurice and Vignault would also be good selections too. If the sens make it, does Dave Cameron get some consideration? Or IS half a season not enough?
