  1. T bay event center apparently not going to happen
  2. We aren't re-building really, to re-build means you get rid of the older core, that's why toronto's rebuild don't start until they move on from kessel and or phaneuf even, There was no rebuild going on here, they were restocking the depth shelves but in order to rebuild, guys like Lad,Buff,Wheeler,Little, Toby,Slater, etc would all have to be long gone by now. I don't get this year 4 stuff, it's not year 4, it's year 4 of the Jets but for the most part, this core group of players outside of Scheif,Trouba,Lowry,Myers and the rentals like Stafford,Frolik even and Stempniak, have been together for 5 even 6 years now. To re-build means you have to get rid of what you had before, we didn't, we just tried to add to it and for 3 4 seasons now, they have been close but not close enough. EVENTUALLY, if this keeps going, you do have to re-build and that means building around the younger guys like the scheifs, troubas, lowrys, myers etc. You know, there are only 3 guys the Jets have drafted that are on this roster right now? Scheif,Lowry,Trouba. That's it, That's not a re-build, that's just the team had no depth when they came here and now they kind of do.
  3. Mateas didn't even compete at the combine did he? Not sure he's going 1st overall to be honest, could see a guy like Chung going first, from what i've read, he seemed to have had a very strong showing. Really, i think the draft is a crap shoot, I still kind of get the feeling that teams in the first round will take non OL guys knowing that several will still be there in round 2, obviously some teams will take OL, BC i think is a team that will take an OLINE, probably SASK too but outside of that, i could see the first round being a bunch of WR'S, LB's and DB's and then OL going in round 2. I've also seen some suggest that they think Walters will trade pick 2, or is wanting too, Reading the new blog by cameron the bomber site, i don't think that's very likely but why would you trade down? I mean, if there is a guy there at 2, Let's just say It's Demski, why not just take him? Why do you have to trade down to take him? If he is the guy you want, why not just take him at 2, Does it really matter where the guy is picked? I don't get this trading down stuff in the CFL draft, I get trading up, i don't get trading down, If there is a guy you want at 2, it's likely he's going to be there so why wouldn't you just take him and avoid the risk of someone else taking him. If he is the guy they want that is?
  4. Like i said before, I'd take 6 Tobys over 6 buffs any day. Yeah D men that produce points is nice but... D men who play D first and concentrate on D first help you way more. It's a tough decision with Buff, It really is. He's at that age where it might make sense to move on from him, Honestly i think these last 6 games are very important to guys like Little,Ladd,Wheeler,Toby,Buff,Slater,Thorburn, Pav, not gonna call them the Atlanta core but that's pretty much what they are. Next game is very important, let's see what happens. Do they come out and prove they belong or do they fold under pressure like they have for 4 seasons almost now. It's gonna be interesting to watch. Hoping for a big big win tomorrow night, but part of me thinks that the team is gonna come out and crap the bed.
  5. No Buff really isn't, It doesn't matter who he is playing with, You get the good with the bad, It's what Makes Buff buff really... It don't matter who he's playing with, he will jump up in the play and get caught and not hustle back regardless of who he is playing with. He is a good player but he is more of a forward playing D. He doesn't come back to help, all other D men try to get back to help when they get caught, Buff floats back, I don't think that is debatable really. He is what he is, I'm glad i'm not Chevy, the smart thing might be to trade him, then again, if he is willing to sign a short term not huge money deal, how can you.
  6. I'll say this, I don't really consider myself an expert, actually I'm not, i don't think any of us really are... What we tend to do is look at these incidents and think how can we stop this from happening? as a non expert on the situation who has only been on a plane like twice my entire life, ok 5 or 6 times if you count ones that weren't flying , I don't know what to do. Leave it to the experts really. They know best. Reality is, if a pilot is crazy and wants to end it, theres nothing anyone can really do, instead of talking about what to do with the plane, the discussion should be.. how can a guy with mental problems be allowed to fly an airplane? It's not about reinforcing doors and putting bathrooms in the cockpit, it's about how the heck can you make sure that your pilot isn't insane really cuz you know what, can do what you want really but if the pilot or copilot wants to end it all, they can and theres nothing anybody can do about it.
  7. i'd probably use at highest a 5th round pick on him. Maybe even a later one actually.
  8. Reality seems to be if Dana didn't let Ronda do what she wants, she would probably go right to Vince and say... where do i sign? Cuz she's a big big wrestling fan and you know if she wanted too, and eventually i do see her getting more involved with WWE, Vince would be all over that in a second. And you know what, WWE routinely mentions UFC on tv several times, it's not like Vince hates it, he just doesn't see it as competition. I think Dana and Vince are both businessmen first and foremost and both know good business when they see it, UFC has no issue showing heyman, lesnar, undertaker in the crowd at UFC events, WWe has no issue mentioning UFC and even using some of their workers, heck this goes back to Ken Shamrock, DAN "the beast" Severn stuff, WWE and UFC i bet have a very very quiet business relationship. People may think Vince hates UFC but... i get the feeling that vince and dana have a great relationship and they have cross promoted each other several times over the years. Several times, so many to count even. UFC isn't competition in Vinces eyes and i kind of agree with him, UFC is a real legit sport, WWe is more entertainment with some "sport" mixed in, They definitely have a relationship of some kind for sure and i don't think theres any doubt about it.
  9. I think he deserves a chance and if he was still there later in the draft, i'd take a chance on him if i were the bombers.
  10. and One more thing I will say, Everyone seems to love Buff the Offensive threat but his D zone play is non existent, was last night apparently, the guy floats back, just reading through some comments on hfboards and lots of people are saying, yeah buff scored 2 goals but his d zone play left lots to be desired. I'm not sure what to do with Buff, he's a good offensive d man but d men are supposed to also play D and he doesn't do that very often, if buff pinches and gets caught, he's not hustling back to help out. That's a problem. Listen, Karlsson from Ottawa is a good Offensive D man but the guy is horrible in his own zone, similar to Buff, great offensive D man but not so good at playing D. I'll take 6 enstroms over 6 buffs any day really. You need D men who play D first, not guys who float out there, I get it, i love buff too, he's a great personality and one hell of a player but... he's not perfect and if he wants to play D, well, he needs to actually start playing D. The way i see it, Buff might be listed as a d man but when he's on the ice, you pretty much have 1 d man out there with 4 forwards really. Trouba and Myers play better when they get more time on the ice, They are younger, they are better in their own zone, they are legit d men, they bring some offensive threat but... for the most part they are good d men first, buff is more of an offensive threat than a good d man.. In My opinion, i want D men who can play D first.. Would i trade Buff if the right offer came along? You darn rights i would. Would i try to re-sign him first? I probably would but i would want him to commit to playing D first, not just being called a d man but to actual concentrate more on playing D instead of always trying to jump in the play and become a forward out there. When Myers or Trouba (apparently had a rough game last night) jump in, they hustle back to help out, Buff does not, that's a problem. I'm not sure i could justify paying buff big big money when he is a liability in his own zone.
  11. Buff is in the east, AZ is in the pacific but... i don't really see teams tanking as the reason why the Jets would miss the playoffs. If they miss the playoffs, they had a good season but... it just wasn't good enough. It's really that simple, no excuses really, it's hockey, Jets could beat any team in the league on any given night, any team could beat anytime on any given night, even the tanking teams, not even sure i'd call it tanking, those teams just aren't very good really... but... 2 teams "tanking" have no real bearing on the Jets not making the playoffs. Heres how it works, You take care of your own business and you will get in, what other teams are doing doesn't really matter, you have no control over that, you only have control on what you are doing.. If they finish with 96 points and miss, They had a good season but it just wasn't good enough.
  12. Not the first time Ronda has appeared on WWE tv or PPV, she's been on before, big fan, think dana lets them do what they want in their spare time, Rowdy Ronda Rousey, the Rowdy is in tribute to Rowdy Roddy Piper and she even asked him if she could use the "rowdy' tagline. She's a big fan, she was at Summerslam for steph vs Brie Bella or whatever it was.
  13. I like the Jets, i think they play a great fun style but... reality is, if you look at the ROW number, we wouldn't be in the playoffs or even in a wild card position, the team is getting better but they aren't there yet, still some glaring weaknesses for sure. I don't blame Pavelec one bit but... goaltending is an issue and it has been for 4 seasons now, 6 or 7 or even 10 good games don't change that, Hutch is just a rookie, one who has struggled recently, goaltending needs to be fixed, penalties is an issue, some are iffy bs calls but they are still an issue, that's not a lack of skill problem, that's a mental one, stuart covering the puck with his glove? That's dumb, Buff elbowing shaw in the head? That's dumb... there is still some dumbness to the team really lol, they aren't perfect but they are getting better and you know what, can say what you want but they went all in to make the playoffs this year, they still might (probably will) but... if they don't, it's going to be an interesting off-season. Ducky says buff had a good game so we should trade him sarcastically, well... buff only has a year left, who knows what he's thinking really... you do trade him if he doesn't want to sign an extension, personally i think he does sign but if not, you HAVE to trade him, it's not even about wanting too, it's HAVE too or you will lose him for nothing and that would be awful. Really need Little back and playing Perreault on the 4th line over slater was just a bad move, not sure how long it lasted but, didn't like it. I'll end on this tho, most people when the season started figured this team would be in the mceichel sweepstakes, they aren't, they very well could miss the playoffs or they could sneak in, but... regardless, they have exceeded expectations this season, not gonna pretend they are perfect, they aren't, but... they have definitely exceeded expectations and if they finish with 96 98 points and miss the playoffs, well jesus, what can you say really, most years 96 they say will get you in, Jets sitting at 90 with what? 5 games to go? They could run the table and finish with 100. Who would have thought that at the start of the year? Really sucks that they have lost 3 games in the last 30 or so seconds now, cuz you make it to ot and instead of 90, you have 93 points right now.. Man, it would suck if they missed by 3 or less, which if they do, it probably will be less than 3 points seperating the 8th and 9th place teams and that will really sting actually. I hope they make it but if they don't, i hope they miss by more than 1 or 2 points cuz yup... that would definitely be tough. But still, finish with 96 points or so and you miss? what can you say really.
  14. Quick Thoughts here Pre-Show Tag Match : Cluster truck but i thought it was a great match that probably should have been on the main show. Really like CESARO and Kidd. Battle Royal : Big Show winning annoys me because he's old and sucks but was nice to see mizdow finally turn on MIZ Main Show: Ladder Match : Love ladder matches, not sure how they do some of those without getting hurt, spot of the match goes to harper and ambrose for the power bomb through the ladder. Bryan winning was obvious but i like him lots and having your most over face as IC champ can't hurt Rollins vs Orton : figured Orton would win and he did, thought it was a great match with one of the best RKO endings i have ever seen, Rollins truly is the man and that move was 99 percent him. Amazing finish there. Gonna be honest, the announcers really didn't mention the MITB briefcase that much, if at all so i thought, he's going to cash in tonight.. HHH vs Sting: First of all, shocked it was on so early, do agree that the match was overbooked with the involvement of DX and the NWO, thought it was kind of like the final "we won the war" moment, but... it did insult fans intelligence for sure, not the first time they have done that tho, in WCW, Sting was ANTI NWO, he never joined them, they wanted him too, he never did, they had a fake sting, but the real one never did join them but.. i understand HHH winning. Divas Match: Solid really, really good match and the right team won, can't stand the bellas but they are better in the ring than people give them credit for, aj and paige tho are in a league of their own Cena vs Rusev: Not a fan of Cena going over but knew he would, Cena should have lost in my opinion but that doesn't happen very often, again having one of your top faces as US champ can't hurt, but really would have liked to see Cena lose, then snap and then go away for a while, come back and be angry with the fans and america and eventually attack and go after Hulk Hogan setting up what in my opinion is pretty much a given for next years mania, Cena vs Hogan. Rock/Rousey Steph/HHH moment: Funny stuff, Rock is very entertaining... dragged on but... was pretty good stuff actually Taker vs Wyatt: Taker looked good actually, was obvious he would win, was a good match, not great but good. Taker vs Sting next year?? and Finally Brock vs Reigns: Brock is a beast, he owned reigns for the most part, actually completely, had a sick feeling reigns would hit him with the punch and spear and win but.. was very happy to see Rollins cash in the MITB and walk out as champ, it's been a long journey for the former ROH star Tyler Black and the guy has been the WWE MVP for the last year really... He deserved his moment and i was happy to see it, say what you want but Rollins is one of the best performers they have, he's like BRYAN really, guaranteed to have a great match. All in all, thought it was one of the best wrestlemanias in recent memory from top to finish, no real bad matches at all, even the divas match was good and better than expected.
  15. Great mania. Rollins winning was awesome. Sting Hunter was over booked but if it was 2002 again it would make sense
  16. I watched mania too lol but I kind of agree with Mr perfect. That's 3 games now that I remember lost in last 30 seconds or so of the game. Team deserved a better fate it seems but just don't really get it. Hutch lost to Chicago last game in winnipeg too.
  17. More like Tlusty Lowry Perreault
  18. I'd go Demski at 2. OL at 11.
  19. Believe Chiarot also will need to be signed. Rfa I think
  20. Except Ottawa lost to Toronto
  21. Toby is our best defensive dman
  22. 85 is centering 15 and 22 tonight aka the 4th line. O'Dell out I guess
  23. Ridiculous comparisons and you know it
  24. Buff gets you way more than Stuart does. Not to mention Stuart is a left handed D and we aren't exactly loaded with LHD men.
  25. Tell that to the broadstreet bullies. They would hack whack whatever a guy anywhere they could. Hockey was like a blood sport back in those days
