Petan will be ahl eligible this coming season. Ehlers is either jets or junior
-
LA lost so we are 2nd in the wild card standings. Big win. Played very well against a good Tampa team. Team showed heart and fight.
-
It will be an interesting off-season for sure.
-
Varga will be in the NFL for a while if not for his career, I'd pass on Varga. Demski or Durant at 2, I'm thinking Ottawa might take a receiver tho.. I'd go Demski at 2, OL at 11 and later and a positonal player like DL or LB at 15. Don't need to get 2 OL's at 11 and 15, Could get a project OL later in the draft, like a quinn everett type.

Younger guys who will get better over time, You don't build your team around almost and soon to be 30 year olds. NHL is a young mans game. Would i trade Buff? If he balks at signing an extension in the summer, you damn rights. Would i trade Ladd? same thing, damn rights if he didn't agree to an extension this summer. The reality with the Jets is, they are building through their youth, Some people have this idea that guys like Ladd Buff etc will be around forever, they won't be tho, It's guys like Scheif, Trouba, Myers now, Petan,Ehlers, Morrissey, this is the future of the Jets. You can't lose Ladd and Buff for nothing, Their value will never be higher than it is this summer. Yeah i'd trade them because even with Buff and Ladd in the lineup, we are at best a bubble team. You trade them and you get some decent young pieces for them and we are actually closer to being more than just a bubble team. I don't think losing ladd and buff would be the end of the world considering what you'd probably get in return for them. Jets aren't and never will be a cap team, Johnny Boychuk with the NYI just signed a 7 year deal worth 42 million, Buff will want more guaranteed. Signing buff to a long term contract is suicide for a team who will never spend to the cap. Trouba,Myers are 2 young RHD, Buff doesn't really fit in that age group and we'd get a big haul for him. Yeah i'd trade him cuz reality is, we aren't winning the cup anytime soon and when we do (if we do), Buff won't be around to see it. Trade him while his value is high.

They don't need a miracle. They just need to win most of their remaining games and hope LA CAL or VAN start struggling. Not a miracle but close lol
-
Filmon? Too young to really remember but everyone I've talked to who is says he was awful
-
It normally doesn't happen with a minute left in the game. Seriously there is no justifying that floater
-
And just like that we are on the outside looking in. LA winning 3 0 with 3 minutes to go.
-
Jets are middle of the pack in man games lost to injury. Anaheim is first. Injuries are an excuse. Superstar goalie is irrelevant if you play the right way. B4 the ASB They were, not so much since

Tickets for potential Jets playoff games won't be cheap
Goalie replied to FrostyWinnipeg's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
Uh oh. The wheels are falling off. Jets playoff tickets will cost nothing this year. -
Common sense don't exist in lots of people these days

We gotta win 10 of 14 probably to give us a legit shot. Maybe 8 at the least. I love the team and hope they make it but head tells me they are finished. Mentally they look beat.

Hutch made several big saves tonight. Jets got owned by a Team who isn't as good as they are. After the heart breaking loss to St Louis the team came out in the first and laid a big fat egg. Remember that pre all star break team who would play string d and win games 2-1 because of it? Me neither. They have gotten away from that and it's been since the all star break. The team is just not good enough. Injuries or not, this team loses at the worst times. You gotta wonder about the leadership from the vets. Did Ladd play tonight? Cuz he was invisible
-
This team isn't good enough as it is. Change is part of the game. 3 4 seasons probably now of not being good enough means it's time to move on from the older core and pass it off to the younger guys or you can pretend the team is just struggling cuz of injuries but really it's been 3 almost 4 seasons with no playoffs. Trade buff and Ladd while they still have value
-
No playoffs probably now. Too bad. Hutch was fine. No chance on all 3. Jets just haven't played the same since the all star break. Need to win 10 of 14 to get 98 points. Not happening.

Budaj sucks in St Johns this year. Terrible. He isn't in the jets plans

Odd statement. saying it's not about pav vs hutch but then saying hutch wasn't good enough. He wasn't but... Pav let in a goal that pee wee goalies stop every time. It's not about pav vs hutch tho right? Pav haters? Lol i don't think anyone hates pav, if they do, they need help for sure but... why do people always have to make it about one player? Like that entire second period was a disaster, the third? The jets got lucky and tied it up, false hope really cuz we didn't deserve a point that game. We got owned pretty much and got some lucky goals of our own, I just don't get why you'd say it's not about pav vs hutch but then proceed to say hutch wasn't nearly good enough. Well, guess what, hutch didn't get the loss, Pav did? why because he let in a floater from center. Listen, i'm not one to blame the goalies that often, the fact is there are 5 other guys on the ice but jesus man, that shot was from the frickin red line, that was a brutal goal and that cost them the game, whether you like it or not. Yeah i don't think they deserved the point but fact is, if Pav stopped that 1 floater, they more than likely get 1 point.

Wonder if they were the best qualified for the job in the tendering process, or simply the best they could get with union affiliation. Yeah, it makes you wonder.

It's not so much the design that is flawed, the design is fine. People need to get that out of their heads.. It's the work that was done that is flawed or even the work that wasn't done.. That's the builder not the architect. LOL, builders build to the specifications, somebody is naive for sure, builders build to get it done on time, they set an unrealistic timeframe for completion and tried to cut some corners, This happens when designing buildings quite often, from houses to skyscrapers to stadiums, it happens more than people think. The only design flaw, if you want to call it that is there is some puddling on the roof it seems but you know what.... that's not even a design flaw, that's a builder flaw again. It's so easy to point the finger at the architect here but all he did was design it, he didn't build the thing, he just designed it. These issues that were pointed out aren't exactly design flaws, they are quite simply cuz i have no other words to describe it, They are CRAPPY workmanship. Concrete concourse is the main thing it seems, that's not a design issue, that's a crappy job by the people who poured the concrete. Just a simple question, how do we know the builder followed the architects specifications? Maybe they didn't actually, maybe they decided to cut some corners and get it done when they said it was supposed to be done, that's the biggest issue here, the timeframe, looking at that list, those aren't really major issues outside of the concrete in the concourse, they are minor issues but theres enough of them to make them seem major. But really, not backfilling the stands? how is that an archtiect issue? That's a cut corners to get it done on time issue, the crap concrete? the architect didn't design the concrete, weather stripping? seriously lol, that's lazy workers really, the water on the roof, maybe they didn't build the "rafters" to the proper angle that the architect specified. This is all just a guessing game by people here, has anyone seen the blueprints for the stadium? I haven't, so without seeing them, who can honestly say that the builder followed the architects plans to a tee? Maybe the problem is they didn't and they got caught now.

If David Clarkson and that albatros contract could be moved, Pav could be too. Many teams would take a chance on him if they didn't have to give up much in return. I don't think we'd get much for him but... Off the top of my head, Carolina,Edmonton,Buffalo even would all probably have interest in Pav. It wouldn't take a ton to get him.

If helle is ready. Who cares how old he is. He might and I'd say quite likely he is better than hutch
-
I think it's more likely you might see Helle up here next season, The guy has been nothing short of phenomenal in St Johns, I like Hutch but Helle is the goalie of the future for us, there is no doubt about it. Who says you need to have a vet goalie on your roster? Look at Anaheim, for the most part they have gone with Anderson and Gibson, 2 youngsters. If Helle is ready, he might just be, then he comes up to the big club next season. Comrie will be AHL eligible so he takes over for Helle. You could also, thinking of teams who might take a flyer on PAV, Edmonton is one that comes to mind, Apparently the Jets and Oilers had talks this past off-season about a Pav trade, well, I know he's a UFA but you could trade Fasth to WPG for Pav and then sign Fasth to a one year deal and go with Hutch/Fasth. Or you just go with the 2 youngsters and Comrie does what Helle has done this year and becomes the starter in year 1 in St Johns/Manitoba/Wherever. I'm less and less convinced every game that passes that Pav will start another game for this team, I don't know, there is a back to back, Edmonton/Vancouver game coming up, I'll say this, if PAV doesn't start one of those games, he won't start another all year unless Hutch gets hurt.
-
Pav probably will be moved this off season. Writing on the wall for him.
-
Trade Pav in the off season for a late pick and be done with it. However the guy made several huge saves last night. He did let in one brutal goal but he made several pretty great saves. It would have been nice to get to OT but... Jets weren't good as a team for 2 periods
