This is what happens when you go from having no money to tons of money... Kind of half reminds me of the Native guy who won the Lotto 649 several years back, he won 50 million dollars, bought all his friends and familly new trucks and houses, bought a new house not far from my parents house actually, not that big of an expense actually, definitely not over a million dollars, probably closer to 500,000. Not bad but... 50 friends x 50,000 trucks... plus 50 friends x houses.... adds up. Years later, the guy ended up dying and was broke when he died, had nothing left cuz he drank it away, used drugs all the time... had nothing left. Similar situations here... not saying that Johnson and his parents are similar but.... in a way, when you go from having nothing to an unlimited amount of money, you go crazy with it, always think it's gonna be there but what you don't realize is that it goes pretty quickly actually.

From my understanding, the wrong number was posted on the website for 1 day... Not saying that is ok but they obviously noticed the mistake pretty quickly. Yeah the person posting it should have double or even triple checked to make sure but... sometimes mistakes happen. That's all this was. In the end tho, the winner got his money and that's all that really matters.

From the Twitter feed there, it sounds like lots of this compensation talk is media driven, I'm sure Ottawa are being douches here too but.... how much? who knows, It seems like guys like Madani, Lawless even and the sorts are sort of pushing this compensation talk a little bit. Funny cuz the NHL just got rid of compensation for coaches signing with other teams. Gotta admit tho, Never cared for Ottawa and their whining baby QB and now this to an extent, makes them pretty easy to dislike. Not to mention, their GM is a huge ****** too oh yeah and the whole REDBLACKS thing too. YUP. Pretty easy to dislike them. Gonna make it a whole lot sweeter when they basically suck big time next season.

Gonna go ahead and say it, Stamkos hasn't been the same since he came back from his injury a couple years ago. Somebody is going to massively overpay for him in the off-season if he makes it to free agency and be hating themselves in a couple years.

Doubt Malkin waives for Edmonton. Plus Nikitin doesn't really help Pitt. It would have to be Schultz or someone else like that. Plus i think Pitt is so close to the cap that the cash coming back from trading Malkin would have to be equal or less than what Malkin is paid. Not sure RNH at 6 million and Nikitin at 4.5 million is worth it for them. I'm looking at Nashville and I see a need for a top line center and i see a ton of D men on Nashville, I think those 2 teams are a match.

Personally, I think it's time to move on from the current core and transition to the younger one. Keep Wheeler and Little around since they are on friendly somewhat long term contracts, Think you need a few vets around. Give Wheeler the C. Transition tho to Scheif,Ehlers and the younger guys. Bring up and play Armia and Lipon, Maybe De Leo, who is having quite a good season with the Moose, Trade Buff Ladd,Toby even for picks (1st round 2016 picks) and prospects (almost ready or even ready prospects) preferably a LHD like Theodore or maybe Pouliot from Pitt. Go get Hamonic from the NYI, if it means you have to trade Myers plus Burmi, do it. Build around Wheeler,Little but more so Scheif,Ehlers,Lowry,Copp,Trouba,Hamonic.... I think after 5 years and 1 playoff appearance, it's pretty safe to say that the current veteran group just can't get it done, they will never be more than a bubble team with the current veteran leadership of ladd and buff, they show up when they want too... I'd still try to sign Ladd but i wouldn't give him 6.5 million a year, if he would settle for 6 x 6 i'd do it.. or even 7 x 5 i'd do it... but anything more, Nope. Trade him. Buff needs to go. Stuart? not sure, he's married to a true north employee but... he should probably either be benched or maybe transition to a coaching role or a 7th d man role. Time to move on. Pav = traded or bought out this summer. I'm not suggesting we tank for a top pick but... if we get the top pick in the draft or a top 3 pick... that helps too. Imagine Austin Mathews, Jacob Chychrun (LHD) or one of the other top picks on the team... throw in Roslovic who lots of people feel is just about NHL ready and Kyle Connor and you have a pretty good young group to build around.

Copp should be promoted to the third line, guy has some skill and basically is the reason the 4th line is as good as they are (they are pretty good, they just don't play enough). Put Copp with a guy with some scoring ability like Ehlers and perhaps that helps. ??,Copp,Ehlers <--- 3rd line. Maybe Lowry on the left side there since he and copp seem to have some chemistry. Bump Burmi and Thorburn to the 4th line. Make a decision on Ladd and Buff sooner rather than later. Offer Ladd your best offer, if he doesn't sign, trade him. Same with Buff, offer him your best and final offer, doesn't sign, Trade him.

Ehlers is 1 of maybe 4 guys actually producing chances this game. People are 2 hard on the jets and for that matter moose kids. The vets on both teams need to step up

Something to consider... this isn't a normal b2b game exactly, the hawks played last night also in Nashville, most b2b's so far the team we were playing didn't play the night before. Probably plays a role in who plays and who doesn't. Wouldn't be shocked to see Helle play. Hutch hasn't won in a long time now.
