Burmi could only play this year if he signed by December. He didn't. He's a rfa tho when his contract in the K is up this season. Jets property
-
3rd rounder at most. But in 2 weeks when we are out of the playoff picture. Who do we move? Frolik? Slater? They are UFA. Stafford too? It's a question that needs to be asked
-
More wrong this game than just pav. In 2 weeks Jets won't be in a playoff spot.
-
12 shots through 2 and about 12 penalties
-
Jets only have 24 ROW too. Non OT or Shootout Wins. The teams behind them have more. 27 for LA for example. That's the first tie breaker if teams are tied at the end
-
Pav last 7 games 3-3-1 911 save percentage Hutch 3-2-2 893 save percentage. Pav has been slightly better the last 7 games actually. Big fan of Hutch but this surprised me a bit when i read their records and save percentage over the last 7 games.

Apparently Bergenheim has fallen out of favor in Florida, The Coach Gerald Gallant apparently is not a big fan of his. Apparently Bergenheim doesn't always give 100 percent at all times, Not sure how true this is as i watch zero florida games but i'd suspect Bergenheim could be had for pretty cheap actually. Lebrun also reporting the Jets have interest in another Florida UFA to be, Thomas Fleischmann. Trades like this, I'm all for, you won't have to give much up and these guys are UFA's at the end of the season so they can walk really... and it's not a big deal really. Postma plus a late pick might be enough actually. Winnik, apparently leafs want a second for him, if Winnik could be re-signed, i might pay that but.. I'm not sure he would be willing too. Maybe but... Doubt i'd be moving 2nd round picks and prospects for him. Our prospect pool is looking ok... Morrissey,Ehlers,Petan,Copp,Armia,Lemieux,Comrie are all some pretty solid prospects but after that.. It does get a little bit bare. I wouldn't move any of those guys out for a rental that's for sure. We are a bubble playoff team at the moment, the teams behind us are catching up... don't look now but LA has won 6 straight... we have played more games than the teams behind us too, they have games in hand on us, We are a bubble team for sure... would really suck to go all in and then not make the playoffs... but give up something that could help us in the future. This team seems to be built for sustained success, not just have 1 good season and that's it, they want to be good every year, be a legit playoff contender, not a bubble team fighting it out until the end of the regular season really.. I'm not sure it's wise to move prospects we are high on for UFA rentals at the moment. If we were having a year like Nashville has been, sure go for it but reality is, we are very much a bubble team right now and for as much as i want this team to make the playoffs, i'm not selling off the future when reality seems to indicate that for as close as we are to making the playoffs, there are teams behind us who are just as close as we are... I don't know. Jets need to go on a roll and win win win otherwise in a week or 2, we may be on the outside looking in.

How bout no trades? Ladd little wheeler Frolik scheif stafford/buff Bottom 6 tho needs help. Calvert and Winnik both fit Doubt they trade for a top 6 winger. Not one with years left on his deal at least. Maybe a rental but really not much top 6 rentals out there. Vermette is a center. He isn't what we really need. Reality says Chevy has made one player for players trade in his jets gm history and it was kind of forced. What makes anyone think we are gonna make another big name trade? Seriously. Not gonna happen. Eberle lucic guys like that. Not gonna happen unless they are available for cheap which they aren't
-
Postma won't get crap by himself. He's a throw in for sure. Postma Burmistrov together might get you something tho
-
Armia had a maintenance day actually. Not hurt
-
Wonder if the jets now just stand pat since it's unlikely they can contend for the cup. Not sure this helps their playoff chances. Doubt they are willing to give up 1st rd picks in a strong draft year. Especially not for a rental which vermette would be

It's Twitter. Who cares. It's all in good fun and quite honestly, i have enjoyed some of the tweets that pro sports teams send out to each other. All in good fun. Only people who are offended or don't like this type of stuff are people who are way too sensitive. Man, not knocking the topic cuz i like it, it's a neat discussion but... what's the world come to when topics like this exist. What's happened to peoples sense of humor. Man, guys like George Carlin and The legends of comedy would just be crapped on these days. It's pathetic actually when you think about how sensitive the world has gotten.

Darrin Bauming. I like DB and take his word as the truth but.... sometimes these guys are just guessing too.

Kind of irrelevant now with the Brohm signing. Here's my 2 cents tho on Kevin Glenn, just do this one last time lol. This Kevin Glenn stuff pops up every off-season it seems, always so many pages devoted to Kevin Glenn it seems. Here we go, Back in the day KG was a good quarterback, he was never great, he was just good, he was never in the Ray Burriss Calvillo category, I don't think I'd put him in the durant or lulay category either. He did have a very good season or 2 several years ago now, the season we went to the Cup final and you know what, he showed some fire but that was a long time ago now, many many years ago now. Something happened to Glenn over the years it seems, He got older, he got slower, he started to turtle more, He became just another average QB but he is an average QB with a name people recognize. I mean, Give me tate over glenn any day, give me Trevor Harris even, give me Brohm even over Glenn. I guess, eventually you just need to move on from the past, you can never really go forward if you keep going back to the past. Couple years ago, gladly would have taken Glenn, I'd have taken Glenn over Pierce and Max Hall and the crap that we have had since really trading Kevin Glenn but now we got ourselves a solid stable of QB's, Drew WIlly could be very good and could be very good for a long time, Brohm showed some flashes, Marve looks like he could be a good one... Portis? Who knows really but... Think it's time to move on from old KG... Few years ago, sure gimme glenn because an average Glenn is better than the crap we had but... today? moving forward? No Thanks. Glenn is just not the same QB he was when he had his 2 or so good seasons a few years ago. Guys had chances to win the big games too and have failed.. it's not all on him that's for sure but... eventually you do wonder if maybe just maybe, Kevin Glenn just can't win the game that matters. Has he ever won the game that mattered? I'm not sure he has. He generally stinks it up come November doesn't he. Doubt a guy at his age will turn it around. Let the Riders or Als have him really. I liked Glenn when he was here in his prime but... his prime has come and gone now.

Which reporter responded back? Cuz i mean if it was Jim Toth or someone like that, not sure i'd take that very seriously. If it was Penton, maybe i would. He seems to be pretty in tune with what the bombers are doing.
-
Not sure they do want to trade Calvert but CBJ is one of those teams who have lots of prospects knocking on the door, could be that. Could be that he's an RFA after the season and maybe they don't want to sign him. I dunno, gonna be honest, the guy that reported the Calvert interest was Lawless so i guess, gotta take that with a bit of a grain of salt also.

New Impact Players This Year: Our Scouting System
Goalie replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I think one of the biggest things that scouting staff will have had this year is TIME. I mean last year they were pretty much brought in pretty late, not sure how much legit time they had to check out players and all that stuff, heard walters talking about consistency in the staff and that includes the scouting staff. Time, they have had a year now together, Time is a big one i think. -
Odell doesn't really fit what maurice likes in a player, while he did have a few good games a few seasons ago now, the guy has been a journeyman AHL'r throughout his career, started off with the ducks i beleive, couldn't crack the roster, signed with the jets, couldn't consistently crack the roster, jets waived him, picked up by the ducks i think again and couldn't crack their roster again, waived and jets picked him back up, couldn't consistently crack the Jets roster. There is something missing with Odell, i think he's one of those players that shows flashes at times but not enough to be an everyday NHL player. Reality is, they could have called him up several times this season and haven't... Logic tells me that he's just not really in their plans. As for Armia, apparently part of the reason he didn't play for the Sabres that much is because he's played in Europe prior and had to get used to the differences over here in North America, Ice Size being one of the major ones actually, Dude has done pretty well on a not so good Rochester team too so, we will see what happens but like every young player, he will have his ups and his downs, he will show flashes at times and look lost at others, Scheif, Lowry, even Trouba all went through the same ups and downs when coming to the NHL. It's normal for young players to do this. Armia, a finnish player coming over to play in North America the first time, welll... the differences are enormous, I like what he brings tho, he's a big RW and i think if you give him some time and not write him off after a game or 2, cuz it does take time to get used to the system the Jets are playing, he's going to do some very good things. Young skilled scoring winger, might just be what the Jets are missing. Let's just say it this way, If Armia is called up and looks like he belongs, what that means really is Jets have a decision to make on stafford or Frolik, won't sign them both, it will be just one probably. If Armia comes up and craps the bed and it looks like he needs more time in the AHL to develop, well then. Who knows. As for why he couldn't crack the sabres roster, it's all about the TANK.

Hate to say it because I do like Benny but every team has a similar d man like him on their team and he's the guy who plays 3rd pair minutes. Myers is better and will get better too. Guy did win the Calder a few years back. Myers gonna be here a long time.
-
Weird. Every d man got 20 minutes plus of ice. Every d man except stu and Chiarot and Chiarot actually had the least amount of ice time. Chiarot is easily replaceable actually
-
Jets do a little player of the game thing now where that guy wears the fighter Helmet. Tonight's guy was Tyler Myers. Guess the pros know more than the Joe's
-
Not gonna crap on the new guys. Jets dominated and deserved the win. Edmonton goalie was lucky and good.
-
Myers is 10000 x the player Chiarot is. And Chevy Will not move him. Just stop with that talk there. It won't happen. 3 games with the team. Jesus. Give him some time. Takes time to get used to a new system. Chiarot is a 5 or 6 d man. Myers is top 3 at the worst. Weren't some people saying the same about clitsome when he played with buff. Take Chiarot away from buff and he struggles hard. It's a fact. Ridiculous to say Chiarot is better. 3 games with the new team.
-
Chiarot not so good without buff. At best he's a 5 or 6 d man.

Jagr wants to play out east, Bergenheim is interesting but his compete level seems to be in question. I'm not sure the Jets are after guys with compete issues. It's more likely they go after guys like Winnik or Calvert, guys that probably at best would take 3rd round picks. Jagr would be nice but... he wants to stay out east.
