Nobody has trouble with the concept but as fans, we are allowed to feel a bit slighted when a guy signs elsewhere. Fact is, we drafted him, we developed him, we let him go early to try the NFL... and his way of saying thanks, which is perfectly fine was to sign with another team. WE ALL GET IT. Some of us just don't like the way it turned out.

Versatility is key with Petan. Could be argued that our 4th line was our best line last game and part of that was becaue of Petans play.. Guy is a wizard with the puck, seems to win every puck battle, proving his size is irrelevant, it's about positioning. He's also able to play on the power play, he can move up and down the line up, he's going to be a very good player. I like him with Ladd and Little, Ladd and Little are very smart players, Petan just adds to that. The hockey sense on that line now is off the charts. Burmi didn't look that good with Ladd and Little so hopefully Petan does. Top 6 Ladd,Little,Petan Perreault,Scheif,Wheeler in a perfect world really. Might be tempted to try Ehlers,Scheif,Wheeler too.

As fans we have the benefit of hindsight and replay. Not sure MOS had that. I mean to most people watching it was a good catch. 5 seconds later. Ball is snapped again. Maybe 10 seconds. It's easy to sit here and say he should have thrown the flag but... in the heat of the moment it did look like a good catch. I'd have been more surprised if he challenged it and it was ruled not a catch. The replay officials haven't exactly inspired confidence this year. I think if they review it they call it a catch regardless of what it looked like on replay.

Would have liked to see him here but... the D is not the issue here... the O is. I'm kind of surprised he went to the als tho... strong D but not a very good O either. I'm honestly not sure how he makes a difference in Montreal
