Trouba will probably get a bridge deal, that's what the Jets do. Buff at 8 million? Not really, maybe 7 but really that's only 1.5 or so more than it is now, You are gonna have guys like Ehlers Petan Morrissey and the little known center from Michigan Andrew Copp coming in to on Entry Level Contracts. It's not a lot of cap.. And regardless what anyone says, Bogo is not the third pairing d man, he's at worst a top 4. Actually he's playing top 2 minutes right now with Toby. Trading a dman who is not in his prime is crazy talk. Teams are built from the net out. What it seems to be is some people (maybe just one) wants the Jets to mortgage the future, but the future looks bright and their are ways around the cap.. Don't re-sign slater, move Thorburn or Postma, Stuart even... Is frolik gonna stick around? rumour has it he wants close to 5 million or so a year for 5 years. Do we need him with prospects coming up? You don't trade top 4 d men and that's what bogo is, for forwards and we don't need centers really. We have many of them. Jets are looking for a 3rd line right winger, they don't need a top 6 winger right now and with ehlers and petan coming soon, they want need wingers for a while. Hey but i got an idea, let's trade a top 4 d man (that's what bogo is) so then when people get hurt, we can call up ellerby or play pardy.. Great idea.. Let's just totally disrupt the obvious chemistry this team has cuz i mean we are totally in rebuild mode right now anyways, we aren't 5th overall in the western conference and only 2 points back of both Chicago and St Louis, Let's trade a top 4 d man for an easily picked up winger that we really don't need right now. Makes no sense at all really. Forwards are a dime a dozen, we don't need centers, we have one that nobody has heard of that the Jets are high on in Andrew Copp, we have 2, could argue 3 centers already in Little,Scheif and Lowry (who could easily switch over to the wing) and Copp takes his center spot on the third line. Wingers? Hello Petan and Ehlers. Why would we even think about moving a top 4 d man right now.. it's crazy talk and it won't happen, It's more likely we move Buff than Bogo in my opinion only due to the fact that Bogo is still yet to reach his prime and Buff is in his right now. Want to talk realistic trades? It involves these guys here (Frolik, cuz he's not signed after this season, Postma,Pardy,Harrison probably,Slater,Thorburn,Peluso, Halischuk, Prospects not named Hellebyuck,Comrie,Morrissey,Ehlers,Petan,Copp) That's about it right now. You gonna see a postma/burmi type of trade for a 3rd line winger on an expiring or cheap contract. That's it. No big deals to be made here. Why? the team is playing well and looking to add, not subtract.

Just one more thing, Anybody still want to trade Bogo for Eberle? Like that was ever going to happen? Since returning from injury,BOGO has been a beast, this is the Bogo everyone has been waiting for. The guy is a young d man still trying to find his niche and these last few games, i think he's found it. He's not gonna put up tons and tons of points altho he does have more points this year then he did all of last year but the guy is a reliable shut down d man who can score from time to time and still young enough to get better, hasn't reached his prime really. D men take longer to reach their prime. You don't trade guys like Bogo, you build around guys like him. Our D is scary and when Trouba comes back and Harrison more than likely goes upstairs, what team is gonna want to face Buff/Chiarot,Bogo/Toby and Trouba/Stuart. What a luxury to have these guys. This is how winning teams are built, from the goaltender on out, not sure why anyone would want to move a guy like Bogo really. D men like that don't grow on trees, Bet Montreal is kicking themselves for moving Ryan McDonough and i know if we moved Bogo, in a couple years, we would be doing the same. And especially not for a winger or someone like that from a losing culture who can't play D. As much as it pains me to say this, and it does, cuz he's a beast, if you are looking to move a d man, i'd look at Buff, he'd bring the most back... but ideally Buff Bogo and Trouba are all around for a very long time and we just find a way to make it work. I'm guessing that's what they will do too. Find a way to make it work.

Blake Wheeler has become the unofficial captain of the team really, not sure why anyone would say he seems disengaged, 12 goals 23 assists for 35 points. Third lead scorer on the team behind Ladd who is the leading point getter and Little, Those 2 benefit from having Wheeler on their line big time. Wheeler is also a plus 9 so he has played very good defensive hockey. The guy is a beast out there most nights, goes through some tough times like they all do but is noticeable in a good way probably 9 out of 10 games. The guy is the future captain of this team, It's only a matter of time. Maybe not the captain but the guy will be and is a big time leader both on and off the ice. It's no coincidence that he got an A this year and the team is much better. Fun Fact.. we only have 2 forward with a - rating and that's Thorburn and Galliardi. I know +/- don't really mean much really but... it's interesting none the less. Ladd, Little,Wheeler all plus 9 on the year.

This is good news, the bad news tho is it probably means Carcillo doesn't get suspended eventho that shouldn't matter but apparently it does. Probably miss Phoenix Columbus and hopefully the All Star Break allows him to heal up and be back either the game after or shortly after that one.

Deep bruise or something. If broken would have been taken to hospital

Don't forget these dbs can probably play SAM. -
You're right. People get too up down about the goalies which is why some of us joke about it. Here's hoping Hutch is sensational tonight It don't really seem like jokes
-
Hate to say it but hutch has played in 19 games this year. We are playing game 46 tonight. Unless pav was injured that would mean he's played 26 games so far. Tonight is Hutch 20th game. Seems to me Pav is playing so not sure what this hutch is the starter thing Is about. Reality is they both are playing. Last night Pav played. Tonight Hutch. Sunday probably Pav. Wednesday Hutch. Pav is the starter some games. Hutch is other games. Talking a year or 2 from now? Who knows. Maybe Hellebyuck is the starter. Hutch needs to prove himself this year. Has come back to reality a bit the last few games. I like Hutch but a year from now he could be in the ECHL like he was at this time last year pretty much. He might be some NHL all star too tho. But right now for as much as some think. He's not the starter. They both are.

Shawn Lemon of Calgary to be released so he can sign with the NFL Steelers

[Blue Bomber Talk] Early thoughts on 2015 CFL Draft

Really think we go oline at 2 this year now. -
we are 2-0 vs Chicago this year, why win and we're a playoff team? right now we are a playoff team, actually we are the 5th best team in the entire western conference.
-
Hutch's sample size is still too small to say, Really he's played 20 career NHL games so far, I like the guy but the fact is, who knows what Hutch will be like in a years time, He's under contract next season for 600,000. What do you do with Pav when/if Hutch is ready to permanently take over? Many things..Buy him out, Bury his contract in St Johns, Trade him.. Believe it or not, you probably could get something back for him, his numbers are better than lots of goalies in the league right now, Minny just traded a 3rd round pick for Devan Friggin Dubnyk.. You could probably get something in return for Pav.. not sure what? But wouldn't shock me if they trade him in the off-season if they feel Hutch actually can be that guy and Hellebyuck is ready to come up and back up. Or you just keep Pav around one more year, Make some tough choices elsewhere, Ladd and Buff are both due for new contracts? do you sign both of them? let them both go? sign one only? You also have guys like Ehlers,Morrissey,Petan,Copp probably coming in on ELC's not getting paid much. Theres ways to balance this out but.. right now as much as i like Hutch and think he does have what it takes to be a good goalie in this league for this team, right now, he still is kind of unproven. 20 games or so in his NHL career so far, Let's not get ahead of ourselves yet with Hutch. Trade Kane? Don't re-sign slater? Lots of options really but it's too early to worry about what to do with PAV in a year or 2 when Hutch needs a new contract cuz who really knows what happens between now and then.

Every goalie has a few bad games at times, Heck Even guys like Price Rinne and Lundquist suck crap at times. I think it's more about how the team in front of him plays too then it is just about the goalie. Last few games Pavelec has played, the Team itself hasn't played very well either. Over 40 shots vs Anaheim too, The Arizona game was a gong show. I understand Pavelec does steal the odd game, plays spectacular and then goes back to normal Pavelec numbers but lots of goalies do. Not sure why i'm comparing him to those top level elite goalies anyway, He's not being paid like they are.. Reality is... Pavelec at 3.9 million, well... He's half as good as the guys i mentioned and is being paid half as much. Pav will never be a top tier goaltender in the league, not many guys are tho. You look at how much Pav is being paid and compare it to guys who are being paid as much as he is and it's remarkably similar numbers and percentages. He's not Rinne, Lundquist,Price but he's pretty good value at 3.9 compared to guys like Mike Smith in Phoenix making way more or Rask this season in Boston making as much as Price,Rinne and Lundquist are.

If the team plays like Last night, Hutch will be in for a long long night. It's more about the team in front of the goalie than just the goalie himself. Last night was, well, let's just say if you leave your goalie out to dry like that most games, you aren't gonna win. Pavelec stood on his head the entire night, That was the best goaltending performance this season probably by any goalie on any team, Games like that are not gonna happen very often. You just expect your goalie to make the key saves and keep you in it for the most part, not steal the game. Jets need to show up tonight, if not, i don't care if it's Hutch, Price, Pavelec, Rinne, you aren't gonna win much if you play like that. Need to stop making it about the goalies and making it about the team as a whole, last night? sure, Pav won the game but to expect the goalie to do that every night is just unrealistic and for the most part this season, the goalies haven't had to steal the game, they just needed to make some key saves. Last night was the exception, Dallas had damn near 100 shot attempts, That does not happen every night and if it happens tonight, I highly doubt they win. Jets need to show up as a team tonight, if not, it's a guaranteed loss, regardless of how well Hutch or whoever is in net plays. Part of the reason, the main part really why Pavelec was so amazing last night was because the team in front of him absolutely sucked the last 2 periods.

Dallas did own us for sure, from the second period on, but.. from Dallas's perspective, their season was on the line really, win and they are 5 back, lose like they did and they are a long way back, 9 points now, that's a lot, Stars have been streaky this year, Jets have been consistent... It's crazy how consistent actually.. 45 games play, 18 points after 15, 36 after 30, 54 after 45... 18 points every 15 games it seems, That's some consistent play and considering they just got Toby,Bogo and Stuart back and Trouba is still out, Jets have been very consistent this season.. Another point to ponder is that in their last 38 or is it 39 games now, the jets have only lost 10 games. Jets started the season 1-4. Since then, they are one of the best teams in the league really... 22-10-8 since that little tough stretch to open the year. Amazing really and considering a good portion of that was without their top 2 lets say top 4 even D man and Kane missing time, pretty darn impressive. Jets are for real. They got owned for sure but...like i said, Dallas was basically playing for their season last night.

Pav was amazing. Him and Scheifs line stole this one. Pav needed that

Pav standing on his head so far

Sears is 6'1 193 pounds so this guy is 3 inches taller and 2 pounds heavier... Sears makes it work. Light? Maybe but.. it's all about how athletic he is, I hear Bryant is a bit slow tho, not fast... not the quickest player in the world... That would be the more concerning part than how tall or how heavy he is. Needs to be able to keep up with these speedy receivers up here, can he? Benton seems like a beast tho. Definitely a MLB candidate there. Also interesting to note but on the Official Bomber site, Quinn Everett, OL is listed on the roster. -
TBrack would look good at safety and Mo Leg could either move up to play a DB position or become a LB, I like his size and hitting ability.. Having a guy like Mo Leg closer to the line of scrimmage could only equal good things. Not sure Tbrack tho is someone we'd have much interest in.. I'd offer him a deal but i probably wouldn't go crazy. We have bigger needs to fill elsewhere. That being said, If we have the cap room, heck, go for it.

It's kind of a huge blow to Nashville. Their AHL goalie has been playing well but... It's Hutton time now. I guess if you want to do a comparable here.. and I'm not saying they are equal cuz Rinne is the best goalie in the world but.. Rinne is to Nashville what Hutch is to the Jets and Hutton to Nashville is what Pavelec is to the Jets. Pretty big drop off there in terms of numbers, that being goals against and save percentage and wins for that matter. The only silver lining for the Preds is i believe they only play Eastern teams until the all star break. I believe their schedule is rather soft the next few weeks too.

I guess i can understand the reasoning behind the trade, Henry needs someone to throw the ball too, But giving up Simmons for Price is just brutal really.

Smith eh? was he rostered by the Cowboys? Or was he on their PR? if he was on the PR, i'd suspect it's just a matter of time before he is let go, Thought we let him go because of injury concerns the Cowboys were having, Thought they brought Smith in as an injury replacement, Not sure tho, Don't really care for the Cowboys too much.
