  1. The love of KJ as a coach comes from the love we had for him as a player, KJ was balls to the wall, like BUCK got killed by a crappy oline and maybe hanging on to the ball too long at times. That's my opinion at least. Plus having both Buck and KJ as coaches can only help The young qb's develop. Both were pretty smart guys, obviously very good with the x's and o's of the game.
  2. Great idea just no time around this time of year. Awesome idea tho.
  3. Punk is actually a huge jerk, he will tell you that he is also. He is a prick, a son of a *****, he beats to his own drum. It's what actually made him great, all the big wrestlers had attitude problems from stone cold steve austin to shawn michaels to bret hart to hulk hogan and the list goes on. Punk is a huge prick, he let's that be known. I won't watch him in UFC but i think people writing him off might be a bit surprised at what he is able to do. The guy has legit skills. I'm sure you will see them displayed when he gets in there and fights.
  4. Pav is 3-0-3 in his last 6 starts i believe. Not terrible exactly. Didn't receive any help at all, the harrison/kane giveaway was awful and the buff/chiarot miscue in OT was brutal too. Pav did make some big saves last night, IMO he was the reason the game actually made it to OT as Philly absolutely dominated the Jets in the third from start to finish really. But i do agree that Hutch does seem to make the big save and does seem to look like he has the ability to be better than average, which pavelec has been this year, better than average. Pav seems to play better on the road and i wonder if maybe playing Hutch at home and Pav on the road would be something they look at doing. Regarding trading pav, there were rumors floating around about Edmonton having interest in him. What can you get for him, who knows but.... I'd imagine maybe a Pav for Fasth trade might help both teams out. For some perspective tho, the Jets are without their top 4 D and have picked up points in basically 10 of their last 12 or so games. Not bad really. Yeah they probably let one get away by not really playing to win in the third last night but for a team down their top 4 D men, if they can keep getting points, which they have been doing, they should be ok. They do have a little bit of a cushion as it comes to a playoff spot right now and reality is only about 5 or 6 points out of 1st in the division, If they can even go .500 the next month or so until everyone is healthy, they will have a very good chance at making the playoffs.
  5. 2 shots in the third was the reason. 2 giveaways. Tying and winning goal both unassisted.
  6. Bogo for Eberle? I don't think so. Buff will move back to forward and Halischuk will drop to the 4th or one or both party and clitty on waivers or traded. Pardy
  7. When's the last time wally won consistently.
  8. Solid trade actually, Harrison is like a better version of adam pardy and grant clitsome really. What this might mean when everyone is healthy is pardy going down to st johns.
  9. I'm thinking it's because Brohm probably wants a chance to play more and probably won't get that here with Willy and even Marve showing more potential. Willy is the man here. Brohm will probably end up in BC or SASK or even Montreal.
  10. I'd honestly rather they go with the young guys and see what they got. Chirot has looked solid, without toby and bogo getting hurt, chiarot wouldn't have had a look. Bring up Kichton or one of the guys from St Johns, see what happens. If it doesn't work out, then you can look at the trade route but the team seems to be doing alright as is, is stuart a big loss? sure but he's not as big of a loss as toby trouba and bogo were and the team was doing just fine without them.
  11. Hall was the defensive coordinator in sask last year, sask like us were ranked in the bottom 3 in points given up. Not sure i like Hall, Benevides? on the fence really, if it's him cool, if not that's ok with me too. Really do want to see what some young minds can do, Claybrooks is definitely interesting. People talk about bringing in guys with no experience but really who was the last guy we gave a shot to that didn't have much experience? Creehan? And that was under tim burke so really... prior to that? I can't really think of the guy. We seem to have gone a bit of a veteran DC route before, more so rookie head coaches. Burke, Etch... both experience DC's. Regardless, Creehan was the only guy that wasn't. I don't care if the guy has experience or not, sometimes experience is a bad thing as seen with etch, sometimes it's a good thing. Sometimes being a rookie DC is a bad thing, sometimes in the case of guys like Thorpe,Steinhauer,Washington it's a good thing.
  12. Good god almighty this again.
  13. Don't think the players on D were the issue, the scheme i think was, We got a pretty solid DB group, Pretty damn good, Dline lost a guy who people seem to under rate but the minute he went down, the dline play did too, zach anderson. We lacked a middle linebacker too, a real one at least, Wild played the position well but he's best suited to the outside. The players are fine i think, It's the scheme that cost them more often than not, it's the lack of caring about the run game, it's the perceived lack of caring about tackling and instead of wrapping him up, try to strip the ball from him, these are all coaching things, Etch things. The players were only part of the problem. And really, A middle linebacker, a defensive end or 2, and some better depth and we should be fine.
  14. Don't see a trade happening, roster freeze is tomorrow, so Jets are gonna have to go with what they got right now. Little xmas break coming up, not much of one but still... all star break soon after, has to be, Jets might get lucky and have enstrom back in a couple weeks. Until then tho, It is what it is, totally sucks but.... what can you do. Either go with what you got or call a guy up from St Johns. Don't see trades happening, teams don't want to help out other teams.
  15. or how many of them are playing the media and fans who are too quick to always jump the gun.
  16. The #Bombers have extended the contract of QB Josh Portis! Details: http://www.bluebombers.com/article/bombers-extend-contract-of-qb-josh-portis Tells me that Brohm may be moving on.
  17. I'd suspect we'd just call another guy from the ice caps up. Don't see them making a trade by tomorrow.
  18. Stats don't tell the whole story obviously but an interesting one is that we were 9th in the league, dead last in terms of points against. On O we averaged about 22.05 points for per game, on D we average about 26.7 points against per game. There were 4 teams who scored 400 or more points for, Calgary, Edmonton,Toronto and Hamilton <-- in that order too of points scored per game The rest goes SASK WPG BC MTL OTT Sask had 399 points scored, Wpg 397 points scored. Our O was kind of middle of the pack really, Our D tho was dead last.
  19. I went with Claybrooks, heir apparent to stubler, a year under stubler, Calgarys D was very good and i wonder because BC has had such a strong D for a long time, if it's more the players than the coaches, BC was very good this year and Washington was the DC. I dunno, i'd rather give it to an up and coming young mind than going for a guy who was just fired. In related news tho, bombers were granted permission to speak to Hall by sask.
  20. So etch gets canned but MB not being canned is the popular topic. Bombers dammed when they do and don't.
  21. Oilers out shot 26-6 last night in the second period. Coach gone players still have no heart or compete level. YUP its the day the coach got fired but most teams wouldn't respond like that. Oilers players are a big part of the problem regardless what some think. Management and above is the biggest tho.
  22. Burmi is playing in a tournament in Sochi. Turns out the twitter source joe blow sports is as credible as Eklund
  23. Claybrooks because new blood is needed.
  24. There will be some changes, Not sure exactly what. Perhaps they go after an oline or 2 if guys make it to free agency, I'd suspect if a couple of the guys make it, they will offer them a pretty good deal, will those oline take it? hard to say actually. Takes 2 to make things happen. Bombers could go after both Holmes and Heenan and both might sign elsewhere. Who can honestly say. Will they even still be available come Feb. Change 50 percent of the roster? That seems way too high, you just can't do that i don't think, 50 percent of your roster is half your americans and half your canadians or all your canadians and none of your americans or all your americans and none of your canadians. That seems like crazy talk. I think 25 percent is about average in what i'd expect them to change over from this past season. Maybe 10 or so guys different from this past season. Think that's more realistic.
  25. unless ofcourse he wrote that blog yesterday and it was just posted today.
