There are not a lot of teams in this league that have the Oline to eviscerate our defensive scheme. Saskatchewan is one of them. We have a defence that matches up pretty well against 75% of the teams we will face. I could even argue that our defence matched up pretty well against Saskatchewan. Their offence scored 6 points the first time we faced them; 13 points last Sunday. 19 points in 2 games in the CFL. If our offence put up something that putrid we'd be losing our minds over it. Taking a step back and looking at our defence in the big picture, I see no reason at all to blow anything up. We've made our share of mistakes and can be better. We will need to be better. But I understand what OShea is saying when he says this is not a problem. Specifically to Kromah and Kuale, I didn't see Kromah do anything on Sunday that screamed this is the man for the job. He was adequate, not much more. Kuale, well considering this defence is based on speed, I don't see what his qualifications are for the job. He's not particularly fast, not in CFL terms. He's a kill shot artist more than anything, and that's not what we need right now. In a traditional 4-3, having RBs get funneled into his lane and blown up might be fun to watch. That's just not what we are this year. All good points. All noted, Kromah did have a forced fumble though. But for the most part, I agree with you here. Definitely correct when you say we match up with with 75 percent of the teams in the league, That's very true and true enough about the only allowing 19 defensive points in 2 games.

I'm pretty sure he stripped Sunseri on the QB sneak. There it is, That's the one. YUP. So, he did make a pretty good impact there. Just cuz he didn't have 1000 tackles didn't mean he didn't play well was my point
-
What would SASK have to send back... 1st RD pick, a qb (so likely Sunseri), a receiver( Taj Smith probably).. Does that get it done? Or does SASK have to add. I think SASK would have to give up too much to get Burris.
-
Kromah was actually the player that caused one of the fumbles by the riders in the game, punched the ball out, recovered by sherman i believe or dunn but pretty positive Kromah had a forced fumble last game. Looked good to me when he was in, Not sure why people expect this Defence to have a dominant MLB, it's not set up that way, Linebackers are basically put in to positions to fail for the most part in the ETCH D. We aren't gonna have a MLB with 100 tackles, not while Etch is around. Be great to have a Bighill or Elomimian but reality is, Not gonna happen.
-
Why would sask trade for Burris. That makes no sense really, sure receivers in ottawa are part of the problem but IMO, the bigger problem is Burris. He looks like he's done, He's not very accurate, He's not really a leader, I think he's Ottawas biggest problem right now. Say what you will but the guy hasn't thrown a touchdown at home and his players look uninspired when he is on the field, Sure it was garbage time, whatever that is, but Demarco a few weeks back scored an offensive touchdown, Something Buriss hasn't done at home all year. When Demarco came in a few weeks back, the players seemed inspired. Not so much with Hank at the controls.

Max Power's HOT TAKE of the day: Welcome to Morning Big Green
Goalie replied to max power's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Think what makes this site my go to site for talking football is the fact that other teams fans come in here at times, not that other sites don't have that also but i tend to find the other sites have more trolls. I don't mind duressler, he seems to know his stuff, people can crap on him all they want but hey man, 14 years old, Think what you were like that at that age, I know i wasn't as respectful as he is. Don't care for the other guy too much after he came on here and basically crapped on everything bombers but.. I get it, It's all good. It's nice to hear other teams perspectives, Not that it really matters what any of them think, but it's just nice to have a wide range of people on here. 14 year olds to probably 65 year olds. Pretty good stuff. I'll take 10 duresslers over one road griller any day of the week. -
Iso is probably having an anuerysm right now. I'd be surprised to see him post in the next few days

There was at least two illegal blocks on the Stoudemire return if one wants to play that game. Could make the argument that it wasn't called cuz stoudemire is a former rider
-
Said it before, Will say it once again. Honestly, don't care if they don't call holding or offsides, or Pass interference or whatever penalty you can think of, I don't care. What bothers me though is when one team is getting all those calls and one team isn't and that's happened more often then not. Miss the dressler holding call on the return, whatever right but then the next penalty on the next play really is.. Holding Winnipeg. That pisses me off. If you are going to call it on one team, call it on the other. I don't think the refs are being bias, i think they are incompetent but when you get moments like that where they miss a blatant hold on the return but then call holding on our oline the very next play really, taht pisses me off and it does make you wonder at times, if hmm, is it rigged? lol, it's obviously not but moments like that definitely make you go hmm. I remember that one, in the chat, someone said it would be hillarious if that call was holding winning and sure enough holding winnipeg. Call it for both teams or don't call it at all. It honestly seemed for a second that the refs were trying to purposely piss off the fans at IGF and it worked, boo'd off the field, pretty sure it was booing the refs too.

Actually most are okay with Sunseri. There is no replacing Durant but the Riders are a veteran team with a tonne of talent. Tino doesn't have to force anything. Is it really the case that "most are okay with Sunseri" or is it, You don't really have a choice other than to go with Sunseri. Well, we have no choice but most are confident that Tino will do "okay." He's not Darian but he'll do fine. and when he doesn't do fine?

You have no choice so a whole bunch of you are jumping on his bandwagon. Take it from a bomber fan, Your rookie backup will suck. He might have one good game, but then he will break your heart by having a really awful game.. Joey Elliot style.
-
That's too bad about durant, it's too bad it didn't happen in the first game we played vs them, just kidding but i think honestly we would have won those games if durant was hurt earlier. But unfortunate to lose 2 of the best qb's in the league the same week-end. Sunseri? Didn't look that impressive actually, don't get the Willy comparisons by the rider fan, guess it's cuz Willy isn't a rider any more. To be expected i suppose. What happens if Sunseri gets hurt? I do think teams will start to focus on stopping the run vs SASK and make Tino beat them with his arm, I'm not sure he can do that, Rookie QB's will make mistakes and say what you will, he's a rookie. Beating Edmonton last game of last season isn't that big of an accomplishment, they were almost as bad as we were last season. It will be interesting to see what happens, I think the riders have a strong oline and strong running game, you take that away though, like teams will do and i'm not sure what they have.

This seems to be a trend with you a bit here man, You always either suggest we sign someone or trade for someone... Seriously the last several weeks, I've seen you make trades for Tim Brown and sign every free agent NFL cut out there... Surely you can't be serious with this still? Do you honestly think trades or signing free agent nfl cuts is going to happen? Trades? It takes 2, The NFL cuts, it won't happen.

NFL update on players potentially of Bomber interest
Goalie replied to Mr. Perfect's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Matthews probably didn't make many plays because he was hurt for most of the year, He stuck around Winnipeg when he was hurt too so, I don't think he quit on the team, he could have gone home like other players did when they got hurt but he stuck around. If you wanna know who actually quit on the team, Look at the roster from last season and then look at guys no longer here... or guys who were released in the off season. Those were your quitters. Goltz, Simpson,Couple Oline i'm sure, Mainor, Stewart, Johnson, I'm sure a few others too but those are the guys i'd suspect "quit" on the team. -
Why do women in high heels scare you? I think high heels make most women look great. lol, maybe he's short.

Mitchell Victim Of Homophobic Slur By Esks Patrick Watkins

Heat of the moment, things get said, it is what it is, i'd suspect if the mic didn't pick it up, then NON ISSUE. -
lol, 99% will believe exactly what the media feeds them. I don't think so. I think it's probably closer to 10 percent. I don't think you are giving people enough credit actually. I think most people can see through the BS that the media is putting out there. I think it's become quite apparent the last couple years to most people that the media don't know as much as they like to pretend they do. Most people don't like to be told what to think or how to think it or who to cheer for and who not to cheer for, Sure, theres a percentage of people who will believe the media until the cows come home but i think that percentage of people would also believe the media if they told them the sky was green and the grass is blue. You are always going to have people who believe the media, but you also have people who thought that MH370 plane was on the moon or abducted by aliens, Those people are few and far between i think. Okay, maybe not 99%, but most people will 'eat up' the whole 5- 1 start to 1 - 4 tail spin because only wins and losses matter at the end of the day. I dunno, if you have 30,000 bomber fans in attendance and polled 30,000 bomber fans, you might get some different answers than you would from those who claim to be fans but really aren't. You see those people on the WFP comments section all the time, They like to think they are fans but can't even tell you 4 players on the team. I'm not sure it really matters what the "masses" think here when it comes to the bombers, it matters what bomber fans think and i think for the most part, bomber fans are smart enough to know that the media are morons.

He's a total piece of crap and that video of him knocking out his girl was disgusting but... just saying, don't want it to happen, don't think it should happen and don't want it to happen, did i say don't want it to happen but... there is a poweback of sorts who just came available today.. Ray Rice, released by the Ravens, suspended indefinitely by the NFL, guess that means he can't play up here but... he would be the type of back some are wanting. Wouldn't he?

Factions? Is this pro wrestling? If so, I want to be part of the NWO or DX.

I think the smart fans and Winnipeg i think has quite a lot of knowledgeable sports fans can see passed the media's agenda and i think sometimes, even get sick of the media's agenda here. I think there is a reason why less and less people are buying newspapers, i think there is a reason why they give the Winnipeg Sun away for free in most areas of the city... It's that people are catching on to the media, instead of reporting news like they should be doing, they are making it up and most people see this. The media is trying to tell people what to think instead of letting people think for themselves. I don't know about anyone else but.. Not a big fan of people trying to tell me what to think. I have a brain, i have eyes, when it comes to football i can watch and listen and form my own opinion and i don't need the media to tell me what they think either. Most the media are "opinion writers", sure some fall under the category of sports writer but reality is, They are all just opinion writers. There is no difference between paul wicek and joey joe joe shabbadoo posting on this very forum, only difference, one guy gets paid to write his opinion, the other guy is posting it for "fun" really. I'll be honest, I learn more from posting on this forum than i ever have from reading a newspaper article thats for sure. The best paper in Winnipeg right now, It's the Metro. It cuts out all of the bs opinion pieces and just focuses on the "news" really. And if anyone tries to tell me otherwise, just wait until election time when the papers tell you who to vote for.

Not using it as an excuse but i agree, that bye week can't come quick enough. Just to let our guys heal up, most are probably battling through little nagging injuries. A week off completely would help them, also probably refresh them too.
-
I agree with this, I'm just saying on the chat it's the same people every time so a temp ban on game day would work to eliminate them lol.

Wasn't McCune a guest coach for the Stampeders? He's probably done playing football.
