There is a guy on our PR, they have him listed as a DE/LB.. 6'5 250 pounds. He was in training camp and just brought back. Has the size to play MLB, Willy Moseley.. Any chance we see him in the line up?
-
Did TSN show it? I never saw it. They didn't but apparently at the stadium they showed it cuz O'shea on CJOB after said on replay it looked like the rider play took a dive. So they must have shown it in house, not on TSN though.
-
Cut one of our better Canadian players because the sask player took a dive? I don't know about that one. Canadian depth is a problem for us right now.
-
pretty much what o'shea said regarding the Kohlert UR penalty too.

Seems like there's some people who think you get a point for every yard of rushing. In their minds Saskatchewan scored 196 points yesterday. If football was really scored that way I'd be crazy depressed too. The reason OShea says it isn't a problem with the exception of about 3 plays, the defence succeeded in doing what it was trying to do. Saskatchewan doesn't get bonus points for first downs or rushing yards. They got in the end zone once. In makeable field goal range twice. This is what the defence is. It held the defending Grey Cup champs to 107 yards passing and created multiple turnovers. If the opposition getting lots of yards rushing and lots of first downs and not being able to turn those things into points makes you angry, you're not going enjoy playing Calgary either. Their Oline will also push our Dline aside. I agree but just want to say, we had more first downs, almost double really well not almost but close to almost and about a minute more in time of possession. -
I've gotta figure out how to use AdBlocker to block people in the game day chat. or.. the mods could just give a temporary ban to those handful of people maybe for 24 hours, the day of the game so they can't ruin it for the rest of us. I don't come on to chat often for that very reason. It's the usual suspects over and over again so not sure why it wouldn't be warranted. I understand the site seems to be against banning people but.. temporary bans just so the folks who actually want to talk football during the game on chat can actually talk football on there without the usual suspects throwing in their pointless 2 cents every 10 seconds. If any mod wants to know which guys it were, you probably got about 15 of us who can tell you who those i'm gonna say 2 were. The op was one, the other.. think everyone knows who that was. Crazy stat here, time of possession, winnipeg 30:38 SASK 29:22 So far all that running SASK did, The bombers still had the ball longer, not by much but they did. Rushing, riders had a 6.3 yard average.. Bombers had a 7.2 yard average and 18 less carries, Perhaps a game where we didn't run enough ourselves actually First downs. Winnipeg 23. SASK 14 Grigsby had just 8 carries for 66 yards, over an 8 yard average, We didn't run the ball enough. Had 3 catches for 32 yards. Total = 11 touches for 98 yards. We definitely didn't use Grigsby enough this game Can talk about our RUN D all you want but... On Offense, we didn't run the ball enough. Hell, Grigsby didn't get enough touches, 11 friggin touches for the guy and he averages basically 9 yards a touch and we only use him 11 times? Brutal. -
Howard played well today and the last couple games for that matter, I think he will be a good one eventually. Plays with a mean streak, gotta like that part of his game, the rest is just coaching really, Not gonna call out howard anymore cuz it's not just him, if it was just him messing up, he wouldn't be playing. It's the entire line really at times. Most pressure today came up the middle it seemed. Anyway though, what are we missing In My Humble Opinion - That dominant defensive end who can get pressure on the QB constantly (hello alex hall) - a MLB with size so we can push WILD (when/if he is healthy out to the WIL spot) - A defensive tackle, perhaps that dominant defensive end is in house already but he's playing the wrong spot.. SACK Anderson is that guy maybe but.. need a big DT so anderson can move to the outside more.. Dude is a beast and should be playing DE. is there a trade to be made with hamilton here? Hamilton lacks an oline, maybe jones or swiston and a pick (not 1st) to hamilton for one of their Canadian DLINE. they have a plethora of them. - The oline looked good today and seem to be getting better, sask has a good dline, bombers gave up a couple sacks and a couple hurries but..not as much as some other teams have given up vs sask... Think we still need a guard though and a better tackle, January ain't getting much younger or better, seems to get a free press here though - Better Canadian depth, that won't happen this season though, that's a long term fix, when we have 7 legit starting Canadians........ - Wild to be healthy, We miss him badly.. if he is going to be out a while, a long snapper is needed.

Liked the als jerseys, didn't like the MTL though on the helmets. Look bush. Great game actually, turned out to be one hell of a game. Alouettes are also called larks, those wings on their jerseys made sense.. They are a bird of some kind after all. -

It wasn't a late hit Tom - again, you're off. Proves what you said last week as well (about the non PI call) that you really don't know what you are talking about. I heard the whistle live. However, none of the players did. I've seen this kind of thing in the past - usually in the NFL the umpire and referee (as they are the ones close to the LOS) will both wave their hands and blow their whistles if the players continue to play - and if a player (QB usually) is hit when they are doing that, they WILL throw the flag for Unnecessary roughness. I heard a whistle but did not see ONE official - and I only heard ONE whistle, until AFTER the hit, then we heard them blowing it again. Too bad for Darian - but he kept playing if had just stopped and stood there chances are he'd be trotting off the field with the rest of his teammates. He kept playing, so did the bombers. It wasn't the CFL's fines moment but it was the OFFICIAL's error, not the players, hence no flag. Late hit - are you smoking crack when you're watching the game? The play is dead when the whistle blows. It doesn't matter who hears it and who doesn't. Hit the QB after the whistle has blown and it should be a roughing play. EVERY SINGLE TIME. BTW: It's Terry, not Tom. Only the large majority of the players didn't hear the whistle, and obviously neither did Bradbury or else he would thrown the flag. Not a difficult concept. Quite frankly, if we lost Willy on a similar play after the whistle had blown, everyone around here would be rightly blowing a gasket. Chamblin can pretend he heard the whistle and you can pretend you did too with that supersonic hearing that the tsn announcers didn't even pick up but fact is.. nobody heard the damn whistle so just give it a rest with the same posts after every game crap. It's getting old

I'd understand articles like these if we were blown out every game but our self inflicted mistakes were basically what cost us each game, people can go on and on and on about the running game and yeah it's an issue but.. riders only scored 1 offensive TD.. the time of possession was very close also, so the riders might have ran lots but they didn't do much else and those running yards let to like what? 1 td and 2 field goals? 14 points really, 1 single. Self inflicted mistakes these last few games with the riders, we hung in there with them, they are a very good team, they aren't as great as some make them out to be, or if they are, not sure why the bombers get no credit considering they hung in there every game and could have won all of them if not for some self inflicted mistakes on our part. The sky is falling for sure with the media and articles like this and a few fans, but really, think the average fan knows this team is on the right track, think the average fans understands we have been competitive every game this season minus 1 (the esks game), think the fans are being entertained, the fans are in to it.. they have come a long way in one off season and sometimes i think people (media and a few fans) forget exactly how far they have come in one off season. Do they need to upgrade some spots? You bet, Will they? probably not this season, we are what we are now but.... what you are seeing is a young team continuing to grow and showing heart, never giving up until the final play of the game. I'll take that over what we had the last couple seasons for sure. How many media guys expected them to win 6 games even? how many of the "fans" complaining the most expected 6 wins? I'd wager to guess, NONE of them. You had fans and the OP is included in this group on the chat during the game going on and on and on and on about just the most ridiculous stuff, ruining it for everyone else in there trying to actually talk football while the game was going on. Every little play was HOLY OVER REACTION, seriously, it became nauseating at times... most times actually, but funny thing is there.. those maybe handful of fans in the chat who were going on and on about nothing, that's who these types or articles are aimed at and the other interesting part is, most the people in the chat didn't want to hear this crap then and certainly don't want to hear it now. But you know what, for those handful of fans, that's cool, as annoying and ridiculous as it got in there, they aren't paid to write their BS, our media is. Articles like this are a joke and i hope to god most people don't take them seriously. Gonna say it, think Winnipeg in general has some smart knowledgeable sports fans, I'm not sure why our media tries to pretend we are ******** with articles like this though. Football is supposed to be fun, entertaining, it's really there to kill some time, it's actually sports entertainment really... people can say what they want but this season for the bombers, it's definitely been entertaining. I'll take this season over the last oh i dunno 10 really.

You do realize sask runs on every team right, they average like 150 yards rushing a game.... It means they run on everyone, not just the bombers. -
i don't know but if i had to guess, his veteran presence. Probably a good locker room guy. Perhaps he'd make a good LB coach one day. I dunno. I want to compare him to Chris Thorburn from the JETS, why did they resign him? Who knows, must be something they like. It's gotta be something we all can't see though.

Goalie replied to Maudie fingerjammer's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Sask just runs the ball, they run the ball versus every team, they are a team built to run the ball. Honestly, I think the RUN D when we play heavier backs is a problem but when we don't, It's not as much, guys like allen and messam who run north south are a problem, Cornish would be a problem, but with that being said, I don't think the RUN D cost us the game or any game for that matter, Maybe last weeks but even then, we made several mistakes in other facets of the game. Look at fords average, then look at Allens and Messams, the bigger backs are a problem for us, we don't have the players to stop these big bruising backs but finesse backs, like most the league has, we seem to do OK against. -
Leggett, Johnson, Grigsby, Stoudemire are all pretty solid additions to the team. Regardless though, Kuale did get benched for a lot of the second half, tsn made note that he was parked on his butt on the bench right next to O'shea. I dunno, i wasn't at the game and my tv doesn't show the entire field but... One of Kuales UR's were a for sure, the late hit on dressler, the one on the qb was just a dumb play but it looked like he started to commit himself prior to the qb releasing the ball, hard for a guy to stop in mid air really.. the other one? no idea. I will say though that after the game on CJOB, o'shea was asked about Kohlerts UR and on replay he said it was pretty obvious the player took a dive. So, With that being said, perhaps sask's players were diving a bit on the UR's today and the refs bit. Kuale was stupid though and i'd like to see him replaced but with WILD injured for probably a while, he won't be. Not this season.

I actually really like Montreals jerseys, the one thing i don't like is the MTL... Looks kind of silly, i understand that's the Montreal "Initials" like WPG means Winnipeg but... Looks like a college team, Why not just put Montreal or Als Or Alouettes. -
Pretty apparent and it's been said lots of times before but pretty obvious burris blames everyone else but himself.. Always pointing the fingers at someone other than himself, not sure what Ottawa saw in the guy, he's washed up for sure, Hasn't thrown a TD at home all year.. That's just awful. I'll give hank some benefit of the doubt, sometimes, the receivers do drop the ball but lots of times, more than half, it's a bad throw from him and he's always blaming someone else. I'm starting to wonder if i was a player on the redblacks and my qb was constantly blaming someone other than himself, would i really go all out for that qb? Wheres the leadership from Buriss? You see it from every other qb in the league, even on drops, my fault and point at themselves, even when it's not their fault, buriss? blames everyone but himself.

They are using Collaros better, still trying to make him a bit of a pocket passer and i don't think that's his strengths but... Not letting him throw deep too often, just little screens and 5 or 10 yard passes and letting the receivers or running back get the YAC yards. Montreal is also very very bad and Toronto wasn't much better last week either so... Gotta wait till Collaros plays a good team. Think Hamilton though is the best team in the east, all things considered. Just don't think they are as good as the worst western team. -
Really? 4 hrs before game time and all ready with the officiating? The officiating in the CFL has been crap all season. I'm surprised you're surprised. Yes, that is true. But every game the Riders have won it's always because of the officiating according to the oppositions fans. Which is total b.s.. I don't think nobody ever said that. I just think you are kidding yourself if you think rider fans don't ***** about the refs either. We all do, it's what fans do. At times we are wrong, at times, it's pretty obvious the refs are wrong.

Als are awful, nice jerseys though. Crompton 1/5 for -3 yards after the first quarter , als had 1 yard of net offence after the first quarter -
This game just like the other 2 that we have played vs the riders will come down to turnovers, if we don't turn the ball over, we should win. If we do, who knows. That's really whats cost us the last 2 vs the riders, the riders haven't looked that great, they got a little bit lucky really, don't turn the ball over and we probably would have won both the previous meetings. Seems to me there is a poster (or 2, mainly just the one) who has no idea what he's talking about and has apparently watched different games, The reason we lost the last 2 vs them was the turnovers, if not for the turnovers, we win easily really. Really nice out today, no wind at all.
