  1. 1. Winnipeg - beat toronto and Ottawa say what you will but.. 2-0 is 2-0 2. Calgary - beat a bad montreal team but had a bye so i keep them in the top 2 3. Edmonton is 2-0, beat a bad bc team and and equally bad hamilton team 4. Toronto, we wooped them, they wooped sask, they can't be above us cuz we wooped them 5. Sask - Beat a bad hamilton team, got smoked tonight, looked as bad as hamilton did last week in their loss, they can't be above a team they just lost too 6. Montreal - Yeah they aren't good but 1 win is more than 0 wins 7. Ottawa - that first quarter they had was better than what the 2 teams i have ranked below them have shown plus 0-1 is better than 0-2 8. BC - awful. Has glenn lost it? 9. Hamilton - worst team in the league by far right now. Just basing this on right now, not on "talent" cuz that's irrelevant, if we are basing it on talent hamilton should be #2 but funny thing is, all that talent and they look awful. Don't care about last season, don't care about nothing other than what these teams have done this year How anyone can put sask or toronto above winnipeg right now is beyond me. We wopped toronto who wooped sask. Logically we are above both of them.
  2. so... was that a head to head hit on collaros? can't believe i'm gonna say this but i agree with what climie and milt said, willis lead with his shoulder not his helmet. In my opinion, there shouldn't have been a penalty on willis, that was a clean hit.
  3. I feel some may be underestimating the ottawa dline also, they are pretty good actually. Really, Ottawa isn't some pushover, they played pretty well, they will win some games this year, oline has played pretty good the first 2 games so far so really can't really complain too much about the oline. Last year our quarterbacks had half a second to throw the ball, not so much this year.
  4. Benevides would be my guess but i don't think anyone. I could see hamiltons Oline coach, i could even see Khari being canned, regardless of how poor glenn has played, BC's offence looks awful so far, dinwiddie could be but doubt he is fired, just demoted.
  5. Willy's hand injury was because he hit it on another guys hand or helmet, what the heck can the oline do about that? that is a fluke "injury" that we see happen quite often in the CFL and NFL for that matter. Swear to god, 2-0 and you read some posts on the forum here and if you didn't know any better, it's like we are 0-2 and have got killed the last 2 games.
  6. He's usually the 2nd returner on kickoffs. The big adjustment the Bombers made on kickoffs, and this was with Woods too after the first quarter, was to test the Redblacks contain to the width of the field rather than run behind the wedge. noticed that too, washington was actually on the field every time ottawa kicked off, they just kicked it to woods most times, the big return looked like ottawa kicked it to demond as woods was still on the field and made a decent block for demond down field.
  7. or does cotton go in (if healthy) or ford and washington and or cotton (ford) are used to return kicks. Demond did a damn good job of it last night, that kick off return was huge.
  8. Honestly, from where we were last season to where we are now, i think its a drastic improvement in such a short time. The oline gave Willy time most the game, i mean, hey why not give ottawa some props here, They have a very good dline, i think that DLINE is the strength of their team. Really take away the 3rd quarter where willy was a little hesitant due to his hand issue and the oline played pretty solid again. I didn't really notice willy getting killed back there, i mean yeah he took a few hits but quarterbacks get hit, it's not like he was just punished time after time back there, he took a few hits, he also took a cheap shot, big time cheap shot that no doubt rattled him a wee bit. Was it garvin? i dunno but that was a very cheap dirty low hit there. I don't care for those hits at all, that was the one that really stood out to me, the rest, can't tell on tv but... seemed like a few were just coverage sacks. But like i said, Ottawa deserves some props, that dline of theirs is pretty decent.
  9. The one really good thing willy does is spread the ball around, did it last week, did it this week. 7 different receivers with 1 catch or more Moore 5 for 88 Kelly 3 for 63 Grigsby had 2 for 50 Denmark 4 for 46 Kohlert 3 for 25. JFG had 3 for 21 Pontbriand even had 1 for 14 Can't really expect much more than that, that is called using all your weapons. i'll take that any day of the week over 1 or 2 guys having 10 catches and the others having none. I also think there will be a game or 2 this season where a guy like Kohlert is our leading receiver. Teams can't just key on one guy, they have to key on them all really. Thats 2 weeks in a row, pretty sure he threw the ball to 7 even 8 different guys last week too. Spreading the ball around like that is very good.
  10. I agree and this was quite evident last night, swear to god, maybe it was just me but after every incompletion Burris would get up and throw his hands in the air, looks to always blame others instead of himself, every damn missed pass he had, it was the same damn reaction every damn time. Receivers fault, or on the time count violations he took, looked like he was blaming the sidelines. I don't see the leadership there. I see a guy who is all about himself, all about the stats, all about me myself and I. Its interesting watching Willy out there and listening to him after the game taking responsibility for some of the poor throws, his hand was a valid excuse but didn't really use it as one. That's a leader, not a guy like henry who just pouts and whines constantly on the field. It's everyones fault but his. Him and Glenn are similar that way, always looking to blame someone else, even if it was a bad throw or good coverage, just always looking for a call or whining about something to the refs.
  11. I'm not impressed by bacon. Sure, YOU might think it tastes delicious, but anyone who really knows about meat knows that it's just lucky that it has so much salt on it. Take away the salt and fat and it has a lot of work to do on it's fundamentals before it's a decent piece of food. i agree. Source: I played farmville
  12. what was this guys name last year? these posts seem so familiar, i really can't recall his name, someone mentioned he was on OB last year and go laughed away, i think it's the same guy. The lack of CFL knowledge is pretty crazy here. I will say, i'm not a big fan of renaud, think he leaves a lot to be desired but looked like he was doing alright yesterday with the directional punting, looked pretty obvious to me that they told him to just kick it to a spot and for the most part, he did. I mean, Ottawas biggest return was like 12 yards. LOL @ the source: years of ncaa coaching experience, can i ask you man? what team? Really does come across as being mike kelly lol. But just want to be humoured a bit today, what team (s) did you coach in the NCAA. For that matter, let's go one step further, we got some pretty big NCAA fans here, what's your name? maybe we can wikipedia you lol.
  13. I wondered that too. But I assume you can't lose possession on a time count? At the end of the game it was 3rd down so they had no down to lose. You're right. From the rule book: It sure seems like you're arguing the call. not really, just thought it was a weak call, not arguing it at all, even admitted he pushed him out of bounds just don't think that type of call is made every game. I mean seriously man he gave him a love tap. I guess if there was reason to argue it, that would be, i watched several games last week and saw that happen more than once and it wasn't called. Just would like some consistency. Think by definition it was late hit but... like i said, it's not like he nailed him, hell he barely touched him. Anyway though, don't care that much, was just pointing out that there was some pretty iffy calls on both teams, nice to see the refs be consistent that way but again, they could have let some go. Let them play football at times. If pushing and shoving happen, whatever. It's part of the game really, Unless something is ridiculous and a guy late hits or cheap shots another guy, let them play is all i'm saying and if you do call it, well, now i expect that to be called in other games too. Conistency is important. You can't have one ref call that one week and one not call it next week or the next game this week even.
  14. Get the feeling that morissey makes the team this season, i'm not so sure he was that far away from making it last season but sent him back just cuz that's what the Jets do, Think the only way the Jets have a "rookie" starting in their first year is they somehow manage to get one of those once in a lifetime type players, crosbys, malkins, mcdavid, eichel, ekblad if they had the first pick this year.. otherwise they send them back to junior for a year. Morissey is very good, seems to be somewhat under rated here, looked very good in pre-season last year. THink he makes the team this season. Petan is a centre and unless they move him to wing (they might), he will see some time in St Johns, wouldn't surprise me if Petan does make the team this year if they convert him to wing but... i think he's back in junior or the AHL (if he's eligible) this season. Ehlers will be good to go next season, he's very good and i feel nate hasn't really watched the kid play at all, or hasn't really hear of him and is just basing his thoughts on nothing really. Watch him nate, go out to the prospect camp next week, see him live, your opinion will change. The guy is a stud and will be a stud, has all the skills needed to be a top 2, heck top line winger but... like mentioned if kane and ladd are here the next few years still, ehlers next season will start on the "third" line. They call him the "danish drouin" for a reason, just like JD will have a nice year for Tbay this season, Ehlers will do the same for us next season. Count on it. Morissey makes it this season. Bogo Trouba Postma Enstrom, ??, stuart. pardy Clitsome? i don't know if he will be ready to go in time. I could see Morissey getting that pairing with Trouba. Things can change though, who knows, maybe we see a trade or 2, if the philly rumour which won't die turns out to be true and Philly is after Buff, wouldn't shock me if the Jets get a D man back in that deal. Honestly with Phillys cap issue , i wouldn't be surprised if we got something like Coburn and Read back in return for Buff. But i'm gonna say it now, doubt philly would do it, maybe but doubt it... I'd take Jacob Voracek plus a prospect or pick straight up for Buff. Kane, Scheif,Wheeler. Ladd, Little,Voracek. ??, Perreault,Frolik. <--- one more player and you got a nice top 9. Anyway though, i'll end it on this note, i look at a team like Edmonton who have some young kids, those young kids never really played much junior, i want to say they rushed RNH, i think they rushed Yakupov, They may have rushed Eberle too (although he's just a pure goal scorer), Hall too, did all he could do in junior but still, one more year to bulk up wouldn't have hurt them. Think the Jets and honestly every other team besides Edmonton, lets their kids develop properly cuz if you don't, you get a bunch of undersized forwards who can score goals but can't play D at all.
  15. Apparently has a friend in town. That person is getting married.. Source interwebs is that friend pat neufeld and is the guy getting married mike renaud?
  16. I wondered that too. But I assume you can't lose possession on a time count? At the end of the game it was 3rd down so they had no down to lose. I guess that makes sense. Was really odd actually. Pretty strangely reffed game, some of the calls on both teams were pretty iffy actually, especially some of the unneccesary roughness calls, i mean c'mon, the one on johnson i beleive (bruce), that was prettty weak, yeah i admit it he gave him a little love tap when he was out of bounds but c'mon, that's a pretty brutal call. Not arguing the call, he did push him but... barely touched him at all. Not like he plowed in to him or anything.
  17. haha. One of the greatest shows around. Just crazy good all around.
  18. i'm not sure if this was noted, not gonna both reading 4 pages lol, but.. on his twitter feed, he thanks pat neufeld, wonder if thats why he was here? him and neufeld are buddies. It seemed odd to me, wondered if maybe he was in a play here or something but... sounds like he was here to watch his friend play.
  19. I dunno, Grigsby pushed the pile a couple of times with guys on his back last week, picked up 5 yards here and there when he probably shouldn't have had any, he does use that spin move and does seem to have it perfected but he looks to me to be a power back, i don't care for play calls calling runs up the middle too much, i'll never understand those, i mean i understand the reasoning for them but... looks like grigsby is best when he gets outside on the play, perhaps a guy like cotton can be the run it up the middle back though. The one thing to keep in mind with Grigsby also is he's been out of football for a while, quite a while, a year or more even, it's gonna take him time to get adjusted again. I like what he brings actually... he's pretty clutch, love his passion and his heart. Pretty hard to knock the guy even for his missed blocks. He's had 2 very good games where he's made a significant difference at times, we ran the ball less today too for some reason, not sure why that was, guess Ottawa has a pretty strong DLINE. But he seems to be a back that once he starts getting more touches, he becomes more effective. The blocking? meh, lots of guys missed some blocks tonight, knapp neufeld morley and goossen for sure. Wonder if greaves is hurt and out a couple weeks, although on the o'shea post game press conference said greaves wanted to go back in, so how hurt could he really be? but i wonder if he misses a couple games, you put goossen at his natural centre and move morley to guard.
  20. can someone explain to me why at the end of the first half when ottawa took a time count, it was loss of downs but at the end of the game it wasn't a loss of downs?
  21. also, have to say it, think we missed turner tonight a wee bit, the runs up the middle, i'm not so sure they would have happened as much if turner was playing. Good strong win, honestly never felt the team was out of it, they didn't give up, they didn't fold, tonights game was all about battling adversity, greaves got hurt (any updates?) willy obviously hurt his hand a wee bit there too, but we won. Thats all that matters, down big at one point and won. Last year, the team would have folded when ottawa had the big lead. Also it needs to be said, LIRIM is money, maher missed a big kick, my dad called that one too, said he gonna miss it. Guess there is a reason we let maher go and kept lirim and renaud. Renaud seems to have gotten better at directional punting too. Not always the big boomers, i like it. Very good placement by renaud tonight. Over 300 for Willy again, the stadium was loud on tv, wow. Must have been insane there. Gonna say it, this was a huge win for the bombers, didn't really know what to expect from a team who hasn't played a game that matters yet, yeah ottawa came out strong but was some what expected, was a bit concerned like i said in another post but... bombers adjusted and pretty much kept ottawas offence to under 100 yards in total the rest of the way. Ottawa had 200 total yards at the end of the 1st quarter, not sure they had 300 in total at the end.
  22. I like the guy, i think ford may be the odd man out when cotton is healthy, demond showed today he can return kicks, bombers could probably put cotton in to return kicks also although thought woods had a nice game and a big return when we needed it. Grigsby so far doesn't deserve to sit. Speaking of blocks though, what a cheap hit on willy by the ottawa db there, went low on him, to me, i was surprised he wasn't kicked out of the game for that. Looked pretty blatant to me.
  23. You know who is turning in to a great player for us, teague sherman. Very noticeable both games so far in a good way. What a great pick up he was.
  24. was a little concerned after the first but then remembered that ottawa hasn't played a game yet. Bombers D locked it down the rest of the way though big time. 21 points scored in the first quarter then 7 after, D played well. Dear Etch Thank you.
