  1. What comments about the Bombers ? That the Bombers had nothing for him to pick from and pretty much took Kohlert because the league told him he couldn't pass ? Pretty much, that's a **** comment there for sure. It might have been true but... It's still a **** comment.
  2. where have they said "not interested" though. I didn't see them say that anywhere, they said "luke warm".
  3. i prefer this approach. Don't get peoples hopes us, Desjardins needs to be careful here, cuz if they don't sign dressler, he is going to look very dumb. "He is going to look very dumb." implies he already doesn't look dumb. See Burris, Henry, and comments about our team around the expansion draft, nevermind how he crapped all over himself while in Hamilton. LOL. Good point. Should have added an er to the end of dumb then.
  4. Wonder if money is all that matters to dressler, i wonder if the opportunity to play closer to his home in North Dakota is more appealing to him. Wonder if Drew Willy Pat Neufeld and Graig Newman makes a difference.. Wonder if IGF makes a difference, wonder if O'shea makes a difference. Lots to wonder about here.. If it's not all about money, not convinced that it is all about Money with him cuz he's going to be making good money regardless of where he goes...

  6. Messam has a shoulder injury. Notes - The game was delayed for several minutes after Saskatchewan's Scott McHenry was injured while tackling Stefan Logan on a punt return. A Roughriders spokesman said McHenry was taken to hospital for precautionary reasons after he went to the dressing room holding the back of his neck. … McCallum's second field goal of the game, a 16-yarder in the second quarter, moved him into second place all-time in the CFL in field goals made, surpassing former Calgary Stampeder and Lion Mark McLoughlin. McCallum now has 675 career field goals. … B.C. cornerback Dante Marsh returned to the lineup after missing the previous game in Toronto with a sore hamstring. … With Brown back in the lineup, offensive lineman Andre Ramsey was held out. Saskatchewan running back Jerome Messam, a former Lion, was sat out with a shoulder injury. … Rolly Fox, the father of late Canadian Marathon of Hope runner Terry Fox, received a loud ovation as he completed the opening coin toss. … Lions defensive lineman Jabar Westerman, who has run afoul of management in recent weeks due to an assault charge that is pending, was a late scratch. He was replaced by fellow Canadian Steven Doege From the Vancouver Province.
  7. Probably means they are talking to him now and would rather not go out and do what desjardins said about dressler. I just don't buy it that they are "luke warm".. Earlier it was, who would he replace, now its luke warm... read between the lines... They are talking and they are interested for sure. Think about it, when ted laurent was available, bombers said we have no interest.. They haven't said that here at all. But reading the last post prior to mine, You'd think they have but they haven't.. Luke warm? WTF? luke warm means they have interest cuz they didn't come out and say they have NO interest.
  8. 450,000 for hank, 250,000 for dressler.. Man, no wonder this team sucks.. You almost got 3/4 of a million dollars invested in 2 guys. That's crazy. I'm sure Walker is getting paid a decent chunk also, plus Shologan signed an extension so I bet right there.. 4 guys = 1 million bucks or more.
  9. Nothing creative about the RR organization, that slogan is stolen from a current TV show and every other marketing idea they've had comes second hand from the Packers. Yeah i know, i've watched both seasons so far... It is creative though regardless. Orange is the new black, Green is the new orange.. It's creative. Don't get the green is the new blue one though at all.
  10. 250,000? I'd pass. I like dressler but... Not at 250,000.
  11. Link? Look to the side on the main forum there... scroll down, theres a bunch of guys going on about how he's not guaranteed to return to regina.
  12. Hunt would just retire, the guy is set for life really.. Has no need to come back to the CFL... and i doubt he'd be the same player he was anyway. Put it this way, if the team apparently doesn't see a spot for Hall, where the heck would hunt fit? I don't like what O'shea said here.. The only real question to be asking instead of who does he replace is.. Does he make the team better and the answer to that is YES YES YES he does.
  13. I think Ottawa has more problems than just a receiver or 2, there biggest problem is the 450,000 dollar man. Does dressler make Hank a better passer? Does he make Hank more of a leader out there? I don't see it. I'll say this right now and i'll believe it until proven otherwise, the teams that talk the most about signing players like dressler (right now it's ottawa), I don't believe them for some reason, I think the more they talk about signing him, the less likely it becomes. All i know is if i was a free agent and i could go wherever i wanted and i heard that the GM of one of the teams was on the radio going on and on and on about how they are going to sign me and how i've assured them that no teams are out of the picture, that team would be out of the picture. LOL. Money talks though in the CFL and the ORBS have lots to throw around.. I still don't think dressler helps them that much, maybe a bit but then teams will put their best cover guy on dressler and basically eliminate him.. The other receivers aren't good enough plus Dressler would have to learn a new offence with a new QB who quite frankly has looked like crap this entire season. You can blame the Ottawa receivers but.. the real blame for most of their offensive struggles is play calling and the lack of a QB who can actually complete passes.
  14. Demarco is out for the season with a torn acl.
  15. Hope the bombers find a way to make it happen.
  16. Green is the new orange is pretty creative, Green is the new blue is just stupid.
  17. Messam is hurt too, Bombers showed they could stop Ford, Not sure about Allen, but... If the bombers could stop Ford and Messam is still hurt, I'm not really sure what the riders could do against us next week-end. They have no passing game what so ever.. Not really too scared of the riders at all, with our without Durant.
  18. The score in that Ottawa Calgary game might have been close for most the game but it was obvious who the better team was and who was going to win... For a while there, i kept thinking, If Ottawa could get anything out of their Offence, they might win this one but... after seeing Hank check out of the game, earlier than he actually did, and seeing the receivers just flat out giving up on passes, some weren't very catchable, it was obvious Calgary was going to win. might have been 8-7 for a long time but that score flatters the redblacks big time cuz calgary pretty much controlled the time of possession the entire game, Ottawa did nothing offensively, at half they had 58 total yards and 52 penalty yards.. It wasn't as close as the 8-7 score indicated.
  19. I feel bad for their fans, first year back in the league and the get dealt a crap sandwich. Somewhat in the way we've all felt here the past few years. That's all. I think if their fans expected them to be very good, they were kidding themselves. If you go back in time and look at the expansion threads about Ottawa, it was almost unanimous on this forum that they wouldn't be very good.
  20. I'll bet he punted cuz Montreals offence was awful for several games, heck they went multiple games without scoring a TD. If that's against Calgary or someone like that, i doubt he decides to punt out... I'm also though under the impression that giving your opponents points is stupid. Make them earn their points.. Don't give them any. Unless, there are crazy circumstances like a big lead or a big wind, neither of which were factors at that point of the game.
  21. Ottawa brought this on themselves... Lets recap the brilliance of their GM. Expansion draft He takes a centre who said he was going to retire He takes a QB they didn't want He takes a guy from Winnipeg who had no intentions of leaving Winnipeg Free Agent Day Signs a bunch of nobodies and a almost 40 year old qb who is getting paid way way too much Had a full year to find 'new talent' but their best players are all guys they took in the expansion draft Walker, Shologan, Capicotti, Miles Honestly, I don't' feel bad for them at all, Their GM deserves this.
  22. I just don't see what constantly going on about it proves exactly. How many of these "refs suck" threads do we need. We all know there are issues, they aren't perfect but... you know what, if you don't like the job they are doing, why don't you go and apply to be a ref. It's really that simple. What games have you been watching? what blatant calls have they missed? a few PI's? a Few holds? It's football, it's sport really. It's going to happen, best thing to do is understand it's not going to be perfect because if you are expecting it to be perfect, it never will be in any sport which has that human element to it. It is what it is.
  23. Turner was tackled in to him, I'm not sure how he could have avoided that one.
  24. The fans were never the issue in Ottawa, not sure why anyone thinks that. They have had the worst ownership groups in the CFL in the past. The attendance has always been good. I can't blame them for booing, their team hasn't scored an offensive touchdown at home this year besides the trick play one and i believe that might be considered a special teams touchdown. And demarco is hurt on a tough play there, guy got tackled in to him, He done for a while now.
  25. Meh, i don't think it's as bad as it appears, if guys would stop hitting qbs late or interfering on passes, these calls wouldn't need to be made. Refs aren't perfect but they haven't cost anyone a game yet.. Refs are humans, just like in every other sport, they make mistakes.. It is what it is. It will never be perfect in any sport.
