It's not so much skill as it is compete i think, I don't know, I can't put my finger on it, think it's crazy to say that a guy who made it to the NHL lacks skill... it's something else. Effort? Compete? Heart even?

There are some rumors out there that the Jets and Sharks are talking about a Pavelec for Niemi deal. THere is also talk that the Jets are talking to the coyotes about Pavelec for Mike Smith too. I'd lean towards the Niemi one personally as Smith has lots of time remaining on his deal and hasn't been so good, altho he plays for a bad team. I'd say 50/50 Pavelec gets moved, heck 60/40 let's say even. I think it speaks volumes with the Jets starting Hutch tonight and maurice when asked for the reasoning said his last 4 games, he's got points in. Think Pavelec moves if a team is willing to take him. That's the big question really.

I guess, all i'll say here is.... if you look at some of the guys mentioned here, Peach, Walter, etc.. Those guys were taken pretty late in the draft, which actually means many teams, actually all of them passed on them multiple times too. Wasn't there a rumor with Walter only wanting to go to Calgary? Not sure but... things like that probably played a role there, it's not like Matt Walter would be starting here either, he'd just be a special team player. I mean, i get some of them, Etienne etc, Pencer, but... the guys taken later in the draft, can't really fault mack or walters for that when every other team passed them over multiple times also. And when you actually think about Peach and Walter, both Calgary Picks.. so that means every GM in the league is an idiot other than Hufnagel i guess?

That Tackle spot needed to be upgraded, it was. Big Time. 160K for is he the best import tackle in the league? It's a steal.

They have Lack and Markstrom i believe and a youngster in the NCAA, Demko maybe? I'd looking at moving Pavelec, but i don't think the Canucks are a team that would be interested in him. I'm thinking teams like Carolina, maybe for Cam Ward? Edmonton? Fasth? (but he's injured). I really don't see many other teams having interest in him. Carolina makes sense because well, Ward only has a year left on his deal and he's being paid quite a bit, 6 million i think but... for 1 year, it might be worth it. Edmonton? Because well, it was rumored they had interest in Pavelec in the off-season last year.

Jets will be in the wildcard chase right until the end of the season. I think you see them add rather than subtract. I don't see them moving guys like Frolik out now, regardless if they have a bad week or not, they only play 4 games between now and trad deadline day, they will either be in the wild card spot still or just behind, it's not like they will be that far back if they have a bad 4 games.

We tried him there, during camp, neufeld was taking reps at tackle and what's his face, Knapp is it? He was taking reps at guard, Neufled looked ok at tackle too, just ok tho. Not a world beater or anything, but looked ok. I'm gonna go there and say that if Bob Wylie see's Neufeld as more of a guard than a tackle, then who the hell am i or anyone really to suggest otherwise. Let's be honest here, we can talk about LB's, we can talk about DB's, we can talk about Receivers, QB's, RB's, DL, DE, name it really and kind of have an idea of what we are talking about but when it comes to the OLINE, i think we are kidding ourselves if we think we actually understand all the aspects that go in to creating a solid oline. The best Olines aren't always the ones with the biggest names, they are the ones who play together the longest, one guy makes a mistake, they all kind of do it seems.. If Wylie thinks Neufeld is better suited to be a guard, then i think Neufeld should be a guard really.

Grigsby probably compete with his pal MADU for the backup RB job. Gable is the man there, the 3 year extension says that.

Montreal gets it going too, Trading Jiri Sekac to the Ducks for Devante Smith Pelly. Montreal fans are not too happy with this trade.

I don't see Peters as being a loss for us as he never was a Blue Bomber... Wild is a loss, Peters is a guy we might have had interest in or maybe not, it's hard to say. As for the new recruits, not sure why but the guy with the last name Lamar sounds familliar, maybe i'm thinking of the ticat player but... and just cuz it's the off-season, Lamar seems like a good last name for a CFL player. LOL. Plus if you really want to go ridiculous, Lamar McGriggs was a good player for us, a Linebacker at that, This new guy, last name is Lamar but.. it does seem like guys with the name Lamar in their first or last name are good CFL players. lol. Rodney Lamar, sounds like a football players name. Khalil Bass, Khalil is a football players name too. These guys have size and i'll be interested to see how the new recruits look.. one of these guys plus Benton, who i think is the darkhorse to take the MLB spot, it will be a fun thing to watch. The good thing is Bombers have recognized LB as an area of concern so they are signing a bunch of guys with size for that MLB spot i'm assuming. Assuming these 3 are MLB prospects just based on their size.

From what i've seen of Klingberg in his brief time on the ice with the Jets and from Practice yesterday, went with the girlfriend and the little one, Klingberg doesn't look like he belongs. Just seems to be lacking something.

Ladd,Little,Frolik Buff,Scheif,Stafford TJ,Lowry,Thorburn Kling,Slater,Peluso O'dell may take a spot if he arrives in time. I'd suspect 3rd line and that would probably put Klingberg up in the press box with TJ taking his spot on the 4th line Sucks about Wheeler. Hutch is starting because in his last 4 games, the jets have picked up points. May seem hard to believe but Jets have points in 7 of their last 9 games. Big Game tho tonight. Huge really. That roster looks ugly tho.

Can talk about the Goalies not being as good as they were but the entire team in front of them have gotten away from what made them so good prior to the All-Star Break. The team was playing a very, i'd call boring, style of defensive hockey, they were winning games that way tho, 2-1, 3-2 games, they were winning them, not that exciting really but they were winning. After the All-Star Break tho, they have gotten away from that style of play it seems. That is their biggest problem. They are not playing the style that made them so good earlier in the season. Top 4 D all out? No problem, the team was just playing a certain way and it's obvious they have gotten away from that. The penalties too, man oh man, they are the most penalized team in the league by a significant amount, you aren't gonna win when you play half the game short handed. But like i said, they have gotten away from that boring style of defensive hockey that won them games earlier. Goalies are being left out to dry more often now, yeah Hutch let in a bad one yesterday, maybe 2 but... Keep in mind, the leafs put 2 in their own net pretty much also so it goes both ways but.... the team is just not playing that good defensively anymore. Gonna mention him, not picking on the guy or anything but Jacob Trouba? What has happened to him? Trying to be too pretty out there, hasn't played the same since returning from injury really. Wheeler looks hurt too now, MadDog Perreault is out too, pretty thin on the right side, Frolik is not having the best season either, he's not worth 5 million and if that's what he's looking for, i'd let him walk cuz he's not a top 6 forward. He's a bottom 6 guy who chips in occasionally. The PK has gone to crap too. THe PP is still crap. Yeah it's better than before but it's still garbage most times. Team needs to get back to how they were playing pre all-star break, if they do that, it don't matter who is on the roster or not, trading for guys like Winnik or Bergenheim, it's irrelevant really. Their top 4 D were out for a month or so and the team kept winning cuz they played that style that made them so hard to play against, they got away from that and now it's catching up to them. Having a 4th line that plays 2 minutes a game don't help either. Hutch is a rookie, he's going to have ups and downs, he's still shown that he can be very good tho, If not for him, this team probably is a bottom 5 team, yeah he has 38 of the Jets points this season, Pav has 33 and has played more games than Hutch too. Huch will have games where he's not as good, it happens to every goalie in the league really, plus he's a rookie. Gotta have some patience with him here. Pav tho? Dudes been the same for his entire career, honestly, if i'm the Jets, i'd look at moving Pavelec ASAP and i know he didn't play last night but... it's time to move on from him. Trade him? If you can? Waive him? Pick up a vet for cheap and ride Hutch and the Vet this year, a vet that can mentor Hutch as Pav doesn't really seem like the mentor type. I like Pav, good guy but his time has come. It's time to move on. Heck, maybe even call up Hellebyuck from the Ice Caps? Maybe too soon but the guy is putting up some impressive numbers on a not so good ice caps team.

Whole team sucked again. No playoffs this year. Time to think about trading some of our own ufa guys. Team hasn't looked the same since the all star break. Something ain't right. Guys must be injured. Think wheeler is,Ladd too. No depth.

Has a lot to do with media. Kidding yourself if you don't think it does. Montreal Toronto are 2 places players don't want to go. Why? The media. Media plays a bigger role than the weather

I don't think so. Kane's character issues are well known and i don't think the Jets would have taken him. Burmi? Dude wasn't even ranked in the top 20.. Go check out 2010 and who went after him... Vladmir Tarasenko is one guy i bet the Jets would have taken instead but they seem to shy away from taking russians regardless. Don't think either guy would have been taken. Just an opinion but the character issues these 2 have, had/still have puts little doubt in my mind that the Jets would have picked someone else instead.
