the attitude era was cool but at the same time, the amount of sponsors and the type of sponsors they get these days far outweight what they had in the attitude era. The attitude era didnt even last that long actually. Wrestling for as long as i have been watching, has generally been a pg product. You go back to the hogan days, that was pg, they then had that 5 year period (the attitude era) were it wasnt. now they are back to pg but recently, its been getting a little less pg, using more swears and stuff. I also am not under the impression that the rating of the show makes it better, its the storylines and the characters. Attitude era had austin rock dx, foley, taker in his prime, etc etc. It had excellent compelling stories, vince vs austin was huge... it also had competition from WCW and right now... well they have a few guys like cena bryan punk (when he was there), wyatt, the shield, but thats about it. They dont have good storylines and they dont have competition, when you dont have competition, why would you go all out. WWE is doing quite fine as is, they aint going anywhere anytime soon, will probably be around forever.

Bombers negotiate Transit game day discount
Goalie replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
yeah not allowing people to enter or leave throught kings drive is a huge problem, i understand the reasoning also but... i think if they allowed people to do that, it would definitely help the "traffic problem". -
Bombers negotiate Transit game day discount
Goalie replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
went to a few jets games, and yes i live closer to downtown then i do U of M but... it seemed liked a few times, it took just as long to get home from mts as it did from u of m. Maybe its because, generally with bomber games, we dont park on campus or we dont take the "main routes" like pembina but instead take the perimeter hwy so maybe its quicker but there were a few jets games where it took forever to get home from too. I think regardless if its 15000 or 30,000 or 100,000 you are gonna have some traffic problems, just based on the amount of cars on the road at that time. i guess i compare it to rush hour traffic in the mornings or coming home around 430 5 ish, lots of cars on the road, gonna take some time. It is what it is. The roads can only handle so much traffic, dont think they are meant for handling that many cars all at once. I see it every morning and every weekday "evening" i come home, thousands upon thousands of cars... it takes longer and i expect it too. Seriously for the maybe 10 jets games and maybe 5 or 6 bomber games i go to per year, i dont have a problem with it. Its not my biggest worry thats for sure. Honestly, i think if the cfl had games only on saturdays and sundays, perhaps it would be less of an issue. The problem with bomber games and jets games for that matter seem to be the start times of the games, 7 730 start times generally, well... thats rush rush rush, rush to get home, rush to get going. Dont know if it would be a huge problem if games were on the weekends all the time in the afternoon. -
drew hankinson was festus in wwe and doc in tna. he was also the fake kane in wwe for the 3 weeks they went with that.

i think the talking to ownership part at the deadline might have to do with the jets wanting to add some salary, but when scheif got hurt, that all changed. Perhaps they were talking to buffalo about moulson or nyi about vankek. That would require chipmans approval for sure as they would be going over their "budget". There were strong reports out there suggesting the jets were heavily scouting buffalo games, rumors from everyone from christian erhoff to matt moulson to drew stafford. adding any one of those 3 would probably put the jets over their "budget" so im pretty positive thats what talking to chipman was all about. Jets wanting to add salary to make a playoff push, scheif got hurt so they didnt do it.

your team would suck... who would take bogos minutes, i mean really you need 6 preferably 7 d man... who do we have? trouba isnt proven yet.. we got toby and thats it really... and bogo. Trading your young d man would be the stupidist thing you can do. You dont pay attention tho do you? cuz you dont seem to understand the jets philosophy too well Ill give you a hint on what it is.. since they have been saying this since 2011 now.. Its to build around the young players... bogo is one of those young players What the heck, trade your depth d? that makes no sense, then what? trouba and toby but who is your second pairing? mark stuart and postma? i dont think so.

the rankings mean very little and always have, i mean guys like perrett and bourke were taken in the later rounds... then you got guys like dylan barker and chris bauman and im gonna say jade etienne who are taken high and fail. They mean very little. Each teams draft rankings im sure are different. Bombers might have it ranked 1. lavertu 2.goosen we dont really know and never will know actually. BC tho could have it being 1.evan gill and 2. smith or vice versa Montreal might rank the receiver bailey higher on their list then the oline guys.. Its a crapshoot man, there are no guaranteed picks here, this isnt the nfl or cfl where there is always a consesus #1 pick amongst GM'S.. you aint gonna get you a crosby or ovechkin or whoever in the cfl draft. You draft for needs for sure if you are the bombers, we arent calgary or montreal, our depth sucks... its lacking signficantly in key positions.. mainly oline. I wasnt on here last year during the season but i lurked at times and i remember topics about how bad our oline sucks and how we need to improve it and how we need to do that through drafting them and its gonna take time, it aint gonna happen overnight. We need a center, we dont have a center.. Take a center. Trade down? lol, it takes 2 to do that and im not sure that teams below us would be ok with moving up a couple spots to get the guy they probably want who in all likeliness will be avaliable when they pick.. ASK yourself.. if you were montreal lets say... you probably want the receiver bailey, just going by their depth chart... well why would they trade pick 4 and probably pick 13 to say wpg for pick 2 and 20 or whatever our 3rd rd pick is. we dont have a 2nd rd pick... we dont really have assets to move. does that make sense for that team to do? seeing as tho its very likely with ottawa winnipeg and edmonton picking 1 2 and 3 that the guy montreal prob wants the most will prob be there at 4?

Last nite was not a hallmark evening for Vince McMahon and the WWE. Even Good "Ol Stephanie had something up her sleeve - trying to screw up Daniel Bryan's new wife, Brie Bella and having Kane do the old trick of coming up thru hell (aka the ring mattress). A throwaway episode if there ever was. Even the Austrian Strong Man taking on Jack Swagger for the 40th straight time. swiss superman cesaro you mean? Well that makes sense that story, i mean they were former tag partners just about a month ago. Cesaro just joined heyman recently. That feud makes sense. Last nights was awesome, the opening was hella cool. bray wyatt and the choir kids, that was a cool thing to see.

im not opposed to trading kane if we get a good return on him. Really IMO the only untouchables are trouba bogo (cuz he signed a long term deal), wheeler scheif and little im gonna say. The rest IMO are fair game.

You'd think we learn by now that nothing in drafts is ever painfully obvious. There are always surprises. true enough. Just looking at the needs of teams tho, ottawa? i dunno what they do, they could take lavertu or smith or foucault or heck someone else even, who knows. but wpg and edmonton will definitely be eyeing oline and think montreal takes bailey if ottawa doesnt. so i just dont see montreal at 4 or bc at 5 moving up a few spots and also going down a few spots (giving up their second rounder) to just move up to take a guy who in all liklihood (i understand surprises happen) is there when they are picking anyways.

kings win in a route. san jose is blown up this off season.

that shot down theory might gain some ground if that plane is found in the bay of bengal tho. I dunno, i hope we get some answers here. It is a huge mystery and interesting. I hope in my lifetime i find out what happened but i get the feeling that it might take a while.

Bombers Reject Rabb for Board of Directors
Goalie replied to Nasty Nate's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
doubt pallister wins anyways but dont want to talk politics. will say NDP sucks but PC's arent any better. As far as this rabb fella goes, he's not a city of winnipeg representative, he's sam katz's friend... atleast sheegl worked for the city, and yes i understand he was also sammys buddy but... seems like the bombers want an actual rep from the C.O.W. so cant say i disagree with them as rabb is not a rep but a friend of sammys. -
went with the no option here, but agree with 17to85 first post. If we can get for a late round pick, do it. If not, nope.

This all depends on what the word on Quinn Smith is... if he is rated better than Westerman, I think there's a lot of interest to trade up for #2 pick (then again, I would be wondering we we aren't picking him...) Only reason to trade down is to still pick Goossen and another starting player - our NI depth is what will kill us this year. I just think its very obvious that lavertu goosen and foucault will go 1 2 and 3, maybe not that order but... ott wpg edmonton all need oline help badly. Pretty obvious montreal needs a receiver, bc probably would still get smith when they pick at 5 just based on needs really. I just dont see trades happening here. If anything maybe we trade a pick in next years draft (what about a first in next years draft for edmonton or bcs first in this years??? ) or first round 2015 for bcs 1st and 2nd rder this year or montreals. Think thats more likely then trading out of the 2 spot.

just gonna throw some crap on the wall here, see if it sticks. Is this a fair trade for kane To florida for the 1st overall and brandon pirri plus rights to mike matheson (d man) is that a fair trade? i think it might be. Im not sure florida would make that trade but.. if i was them, id consider it. Florida is in a situation where they need to win but... they are so young that i dunno if it can be done anytime soon. They got luongo right now and brian campbell as their 2 best players (outside of barkov) but these guys are proven solid players. They arent exactly spring chickens. does kane speed up their rebuild more then the number 1 pick would? Like i said, just throwing crap on the wall.

short video about a minute 20 seconds long on the sun site. not much said tho. basically what was said here really already. I highly doubt we trade down, actually... its highly unlikely teams would trade up with us... it makes no sense for them too. everyone and their mother knows we need a center... why would montreal or bc gives us 2 picks for 2 picks from us. They are gaining nothing. Pretty apparent ottawa takes lavertu or smith, pretty obvious wpg takes lavertu or goosen, edmonton will take one of goosen or foucault, montreal will take bailey.. bc will take a DL (whether that be smith or gill) There is no need for those teams to move up 2 spots really... and dont forget, ottawa could take lavertu, we could trade our pick and then that team or edmonton could take the other center. Leaving us pretty much out of luck. We will take a center, its painfully obvious. Its lavertu or goosen. Mark it down boys, thats who it will be.
-
I think its been obvious all off season that we were targeting a center olineman. Im not sure why anyone (one guy) would be surprised by this. We all know it. We have known it for a long time. This isnt the first time walters has mentioned wanting a center either.

The Difference Between Calgary & Winnipeg (Media Coverage)
Goalie replied to iso_55's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I agree. I think Winnipeg has more passion for the Bombers than Calgary does for the Stamps. People love the Flames but I don't sense that burning desire that Jets fans have here. I was at the Jets game here 2 weeks ago & they had 18,000 at the game. Easily a quarter of the crowd was cheering for the Jets. watched the game on tv and i thought it was more then half the crowd cheering for the jets, everywhere i looked on tv, jets jersey after jets jersey. It was quite the sight. It was beautiful. I was high up.Both fanbases treated each other well & with respect where I was sitting. No fights. Just everyone having a good time. Flames & Jets fans. We all knew our teams were out of the playoffs so I'm sure that had a lot to do with it. If these were Rider fans, there's be a lot of jackoff @$$***** looking for trouble. actually thought there was a fight in the lowerbowl, at one point it looked like it actually. everyones heads were turned. was told 2 drunk jets fans got into a brawl with eachother tho. I dunno, maybe that was earlier in the season tho. -

If you can call 18 goals in an 82 game season a GOAL SCORER!!! But Evander has a pile of excuses - self-inflicted injuries, infections, bad coach, new bad coach, linemates with stubby hands, linemates with no hands. Trouble is - at this point he's untradeable as a 30 goal scorer - cuz he's NOT a 30 goal scorer. He's a 15 to 20 goal scorer and for 6 million a year, thats not only a money blow - its a formula for golf in April. actually in todays world, 6 million does seem to get you about a 25-30 goal scorer. You need to take a look at some of the guys making that type of money and you will see, kane is pretty good value for what he brings. Seem to have a dislike for the guy, thats fine but dont kid yourself that he isnt tradable, he's very very very tradable. He'd get the jets a very nice return for sure. Whether you think so or not.
