Seems to me that Fords best asset as a runner was his speed.... He wasn't terribly elusive but if he got a hole he had the speed to hit it and run a long way. Yep, close to being his only asset compared other CFL backs, he doesn't break many tackles or make people miss, but if he hits a crease he can go a long way fast. When a speed back gets caught from behind... NEXT! You do know who chip cox is right? Never heard of him

We're close.

I really truly must have seen Hajrahjuhus only few bad days at camp (no sarcasm) coincidentally, if everyone else says they were even I'll concede my argument.

Even just one offensive and one defensive rookie reserve spot would be great.

It's a mistake to make potential long-term sacrifices to (barely) address something in the short-term when you're re-building. Placekicking is vital. Our ratio problems don't go away by going with a CDN kicker.

That didn't take long. Mistake by the new brass, I think.

Bryant Turner will have to fill in at RB. Or Dan Knapp.

My section (201) is awesome... but I think it's all season ticket holders in our square of seats (rows 7 down are separate in the upper deck.) Anything in upper deck on the East side should be a safe bet experience wise, if you want to go lower DO NOT sit near the South Side unless you want dirty looks for cheering loud from disgruntled parents who are dreading the bus ride back with their misbehaved children. (I went down there for a different view late one game last year because it's close to the Park & Ride buses... never again.) Hope you enjoy the new digs, hopefully the rainy season is over by the time you're in town, and most importantly I hope the Bumbers make it worth your while. Cheers.

I didn't even notice them out there. Either they actually weren't there or they weren't getting many snaps. Side note: It's funny how all of a sudden some of the vets are practicing now that the next game is the real deal (Sears & Banks in particular.) Precaution or laziness? I hope it's the former, because I'm a big fan of Sears and hope he isn't a victim of the old regime's locker room attitude.

As of right now Kelly is the only American we have who can play WR at the CFL level. Urrutia might be his biggest competitor for the starting gig but I think he would be close to getting cut if there was better competition.

Willy is making his throws count today. Aaron woods is getting a lot of looks as a SB, but the defense is easily making plays on the balls thrown to him. Two plays in particular would have been completions had a taller receiver been the target... He is just way too small.
-
I'm really starting to think Aaron Kelly should be starting over Urrutia. He's made some nice contested grabs today. Urrutia has never impressed me like he has others. I just don't see it in him. Kemp not practicing either I don't think I mentioned him.

Moore is fine. Sears lookin like he's fully recovered too. Leggett, Suber, Markett and Alexander still out for DBs. Kolhert, Ford, Cotton out as well. They've been installing some trickery this morning.

I'll be heading over this morning. I'll touch base every once in a while. When is cut down day?

Isn't Hugo Lopez that really big guy from the show Lost?

I like how his defences really make you think on offence. Lately all teams have had to think about against a Bomber defence is who's stats they want to pad.

Throw over the top.Disguise it like you're gonna stack and drop back.

The reason we won't ever have affiliated ball back in Winnipeg is the travel for teams. If you look at the map of any affiliated league there is no way they are gonna want to travel the distance to Winnipeg. Even if there were a few teams close, there's still going to be way too many too far.. It's a bummer.

Coming from a baseball geek (I not only subscribe to MLB.TV but I also have MiLB TV, I watch a lot of minor league baseball) AAA is not better than AA. AA has WAY more career minor leaguers by far. Yes there are lots of prospects in High A and AA, but AAA has just as many, and they are always that much further along in their development. Plus a lot of the other guys are fringe players and many of them could play in the big leagues if there was more roster space.

That's a great lookin field!Too bad it's 24,000 instead of 33,000 like ours.I think for Ottawa that 24k is a good number. Don't understand why the CFL isn't bigger in Montreal & Ottawa. I can understand Southern Ontario as they feel they are NFL material but Ottawa & Montreal clearly aren't. They should be routinely able to draw 27-30,000 every game & have bigger stadiums. Ottawa doesn't support any sports teams consistently and their CFL teams have been awful since the late 1970s. I visited my friend from Ottawa last summer, and we drove by their beautiful baseball stadium and got into an argument about the quality of independent baseball. They had two independent teams and a intercounty team since they lost their AAA team but Ottawa wouldn't support them because they weren't affiliated with MLB, even though indy ball is 50x more entertaining than having a AA team (which some people have been angling for, getting the Blue Jays affiliate) where your players move through all the time and your manager has zero control over who plays, who stays who goes. Indy ball you can actually build a winning franchise, like the Goldeyes, and not be stuck developing players for someone else. They wouldn't even give the indy ball teams a shot. I respectfully disagree with you that independent ball is more entertaining. While you are right that Indy clubs have the freedom to build their own franchise, the quality of players that affiliated ball brings to the park every night is a way bigger draw than the continuity of a bunch of hacks. With affiliated ball you have the all the best young prospects working their way up, add in relevant vets and the odd star rehabbing and you create major interest. The attendance was bound to fall and hit rock bottom, just compare the attendance of independent and affiliated ball across North America. Winnipeg is an odd case where independent baseball thrives. We are a very unique city in that regard... Our market is huge for Indy exclusivity.

Paris Cotton has made the final roster?
Harbaugh replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Grigsby hasn't impressed, and Ford hasn't put his cleats on in two weeks. Cotton is our guy. Maybe Lawless should actually watch a few practices before calling Grigsby the starter, HA!
