  1. I don't believe he was. Read his point in context.
  2. Shame on Milt for not being perfect... On a related note I remember when he signed and gave my 3 year old his playing gloves (I later stole those gloves from my 3 year old).
  3. Yeah, well those Bomber teams from around '88 to '91 had a great defense. In fact the Bombers MAY have had the best defense of all time in the CFL during those years (our offense sucked between the Clements and Dunigan years, but we still managed 2 Grey Cups). That's why I am so sad about this year. Our defense is good, our offense has some good players...weakness is at QB and with Nichols going down it is even weaker. Maybe we can still pull it off...
  4. Agree with the above. Fajardo and Evans are having good years.
  5. Interesting comment. Macadoo was nearly run out of town last year. Rider fans, seemingly in unison, blamed him for the offense's woes. This year not so much. I wonder what changed?!?!
  6. From Jan 18th, 2017 (Matt Nichols contract extension): Financial details weren’t immediately available but Nichols will reportedly earn between $400,00 and $450,000 over the course of the deal. With Nichols under centre, Winnipeg posted an 11-7 record to finish third in the West Division. The former Eastern Washington star was 10-3 as the Bombers’ starter and recorded career highs in passing yards (3,666), TDs (18), attempts (471) and completions (327) with just nine interceptions. (From AP services) Nowhere did I say Fajardo was as good as Nichols (time will tell). But their situations are somewhat similar as Nichols came into the 'Peg and won some games and then signed a big contract.
  7. I seem to remember the Bombers giving Nichols similar $$'s for a similar amount of work...so a fair signing.
  8. Yes, I like a lot of things O Shea does (he respects his players etc), but on other issues (injuries) he is downright strange!! A guy can be healthy many, many weeks and yet sit on the injury list and yet a player like Streveler or Harris can be lying on the turf with one arm torn off and it's "he's good to go back in!" I don't get it.
  9. Hmmm. I'm not a Chris hater but I do not think he gives us the best chance in the playoffs.... doesn't matter what I think though, O Shea will do or die with him. (I do think O Shea should rest Streveler on Friday).
  10. Another guy I forgot to mention is Jenarion Grant - the guy is a threat every time he touches the ball!
  11. Could there also be a 3rd possibility that can play into things?? (That BLM is one of the most prolific, accurate passers in CFL history).
  12. Yes he is an extremely talented runner. But, at this point anyway, he lacks in being able to execute (i.e. find and hit the open receiver). That is one of the most important aspects of a successful QB. If he doesn't improve in this area he will be nothing more than a tougher, faster version of Nealon Greene.
  13. Rose Sayles Streveler for his heart
  14. If Coach O Shea really thinks Streveler is our best shot in the playoffs...maybe they should rest him next week
  15. Because Streveler was a) hurt and b) he doesn't have the strongest arm
  16. Nice call LaPolice!!!
  17. I hope Streveler breaks the rushing record. (Having said that, as with all recent records, it is over an 18 game schedule). Anyways, This game will be a very good test for our offense and Strevelers ability to read a defense.
  18. I heard him on the radio saying in practice he once threw a wind-aided ball 100 yards.
  19. Yes, I'll say this as decently as I can...BLM is THE BIGGEST Douchebag this league has EVER seen. I've starting to think it's not his talent that kept him out of the NFL, it's his attitude. Arrogant doesn't begin to describe him.
  20. Yes. The most likely senario has us finishing 3rd and having to beat both Calgary and SK in their barns. A very tall task. ( But possible).
  21. One could also argue that every team should have every other team "figured out"...there are a number of options with every formation, but every team studies those and often plays the percentages. Like one coach said "I don't care if they know what we are doing. If we do it right, they won't stop us."
  22. LaPo started here as OC the year Milt won MVP honors...
  23. Less Browne was a tremendous talent. I couldn't believe it when we signed him as a free agent. There never was ( and probably never will be) a CB duo as good as Rod Hill & Less Browne!!
  24. Yup. Defenses have figured him out. Hopefully he responds in kind.
  25. According to reports OShea has turned down a couple of contract extension offers already...so many on this board will get their wish (I'm kind of indifferent on the matter - just hope we don't make a bad hire.)
