Confusion corner. Getting 30,000 people in and out of there would be soooooper easy.

Expectations may be a bit off for some. I'd imagine it's going to be awhile till he gets promoted to the glamorous life of special teams duty. New to 3 down ball, new to professional football, new playbook, new QB and coaches, new everything. It is fair, reasonable and likely that he is at the bottom of NI receiver totem pole and will be for a while.

Had a couple of female Rider fans sitting next to me at the Banjo Bowl last year. One of them would scream "DON'T YOU HURT HIM!!!" every time the Riders tackled Dressler. Swore non-stop about Jones. It was almost enough to make me enjoy sitting by Rider fans.
-
If they do, it's only because there's a conspiracy against the Riders.

Given how insufferably petulant some people here act after he has a great game, he's going to have to go the entire season without missing a single tackle.

It's entirely anecdotal on my part, and I'm referencing prior regimes since this one apparently has equal dislike for giving up safeties as I do, but I am quite certain that in the past when the Bombers conceded safeties with painful regularity, teams would add points to the 2 we freely gave them on the drive that immediately followed more than 50% of the time. If someone has access to that type of information and the wherewithal to go through it, my memory will be proven either right or wrong.

So...is MBB a subsidiary of Riderfans? Can't quite figure out why so many are so desperate to talk about that stupid team. I thought we're playing Calgary in 3 days.

That should be the proper way to view it. No one is talking about Khari's time as a backup in BC or Nichols few starts in Edmonton. Nichols has a ways to go to surpass Glenn simply because he hasn't been here long enough. Glenn's 2007 season was the best of his career, and as much as people here don't like to give him credit for anything, he had a fantastic season for us. Nichols has yet to have a season for us. Seems pretty simple. Nichols is playing great, but there's no reason to start comparing him to the greats yet.

I'm going to endorse this list, although Zalesky was before my time. Everything else is how I remember it. The biggest wildcard in all of this is Kelly. Make no mistake, I have nothing but contempt for him and will shout down anyone who seriously suggests it wasn't as bad as it actually was. However, strictly as a coach (and not a human being) he was slightly less than middling at best/worst. He might have pulled together a winning season if he had kept his ego in his pants and made sensible decisions with personnel rather than thinking his genius could compensate for replacing existing players with less talented players. His biggest crimes were dragging the Bomber brand into the mud before crapping all over it, and treating good people like garbage and proudly braying about it. What a colossal tool. I was having a perfectly happy Tuesday until I thought of that jerk. Thanks Obama! Strictly as a coach, however, the few things he did that were barely semi-competent are enough to float his average up to hover just above the rest of his scum-sucking existence here.

No. Not that either. Freudian slip - an unintentional error regarded as revealing subconscious feelings. This seems straight-forward and not the least bit confusing to me, but what that fairly common (although grammatically poor) phrasing means is that he includes himself as part of the team, rather than separating himself from it and placing blame solely on the players. He isn't actually seeking affirmation from the media. It is entirely rhetorical. It seems to me like that would be a characteristic most people would prefer and endorse in a head coach. Sharing responsibility. Not poor grammar.

Around the League - Regular Season Discussion (Redux)
mbrg replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Interesting. Everywhere else it was a headline. Footnote - headline, potato - potahto... Y'know, if I didn't know better, I might suggest Nye isn't entirely objective. -
The same way they score from anywhere else on the field. How come in your scenario it is only those magical 20 yards where a team will be stopped? A team that can march the ball down field and score will do it from either 45 yard line. If they're going to score a touchdown, why give them 9 points instead of 7? If they're going to kick a field goal, why give them 5 points instead of 3? If our defence is going to stop them, why give them 2 points instead of 0? Unless a team is facing a strong headwind or sitting on an absolutely massive lead, giving up a safety is stupid. Through 2 weeks of football, 6 of 8 games were decided by 4 points or less. One of those wasn't even decided. 2 points does matter. Don't go giving it up like it's prom night in Boissevain.

Take a 7 step drop to air it out and have your QB get killed.

Looks like a few players lifting another up into his top top top top top top bunk at one of the Rider PR houses.

I'm putting my money down on ineptitude.

Using the ignore feature for about ten members here will also accomplish the same goal. Considering how the offseason has gone and that no games were played, I'd say their behavior has little to do winning or losing.

Morning radio in Regina today: "Chris Jones is not a well liked person" "No he is not". Followed by assorted complaining about the reffing, mocking Nik Lewis, etc, etc.

We made 2 deals, one with a player and another with a team, the net result of which is we dropped 11 spots in the draft and kept our entire roster intact. Don't worry. Most of us understand.

3 stars plus HH first preseason game edition

They also let people bring in flares and set the stadium on fire. Personally I don't have that big of an axe to grind with the Riders, but for those who do, um, we got by as an 8 team league for a while. Just saying. -
Nevermind, I found the source... ...the opinion of people on the internet. It checks out.
