  1. Seems legit. Who are you taking with your first round pick in the draft?
  2. I believe that's called the Road Griller rule.
  3. And still I got nothing for Valentine's Day... A boy (or girl) can dream...
  4. I think it had less to do with money and more to do with the Bombers having faith in Davis. Walters is a standup guy. He would have told Glenn outright that he was not guaranteed the number 2 spot on the depth chart. Glenn didn't want to end his career like that. No one is wrong in that situation, it just wasn't a fit anymore. Glenn finished the season 3rd on the depth chart. This team has some amount of faith in Davis, even if the internet doesn't.
  5. I'd expect nothing less. One bad year is a guaranteed career ender. Adarius Bowman will tell you that.
  6. It varies. What he would be okay with we didn't want to offer him. We didn't cut him. We released him early because he wasn't interested in what we were offering him. He thought he could do better for salary and position on the depth chart than he could here. And he did. And we probably offered LeFevour less than what we offered Glenn because he is worth less. I apologize if any of the above logical reasoning was too condescending for Atomic. I'll try to have wild emotional overreactions more often. HURL!!!! BLARGHHHH!!!
  7. Well it's free agency, not slave agency. We can't force Glenn to work for cheap and be happy with the #3 spot, he has to agree to it. LeFevour agreed to it. Probably because it was that or being done in football and getting one of those real world jobs. Like becoming a professional fan site commenter.
  8. Maybe we can cut a good deal with the Ticats store on buying their old LeFevour tshirts if they haven't already been donated to an orphanage. Pennies on the dollar!
  9. TBurg can come in off the ledge.
  10. All the guys listed on that chart were on a CFL team last year, whereas Okadoodledoo was not.
  11. Walters needs to quickly sign him and trade him to the Riders for a 4th rounder before he retires.
  12. Sure, but as soon as they sign him it's the best signing of free agency.
  13. Love the colour coded chart. Ticats roster has been getting plundered.
  14. Scratched one off there. Is Getzlaf a FA? That would be a headline name.
  15. You might also note I'd prefer he got more games. I'm saying this particular incident is hard to quantify because in hockey terms it was nothing.
  16. $1. We were using a Price is Right strategy at the time.
  17. I'm just thrilled there is now a second topic with activity in it.
  18. Someone will sign him and get him at a good price. You'd think by now Bomber fans would have seen enough examples to know that a bad year doesn't always equal career is over.
  19. We also get that it wouldn't even be a penalty if he did that to a player. If a player got tapped like that and complained to a ref the ref would laugh at him. So quantifying the incident isn't as easy as it might appear considering the only reason it is an "incident" is because it involved a ref. The players tap each other on the butts with their sticks harder than that when their leaving the ice from warm-ups. I would have liked to see a longer suspension because a) meaningful precedent has to be set at some point, and b ) the toothless CBA in place means it will be appealed and cut down to 5 games by some arbitrator. The reactions of some people in the video are interesting - the ref takes a moment of disbelief over what happens before "yeah, he just intentionally hit me with his stick!" settles in as the conclusion and the hand goes up; Getzlaf standing by the box waiting on an explanation and the chance to argue the call seems to take a while to understand the call because what he's being told doesn't make any sense (rightfully); Carlyle wants to yell at the refs because that's how he's wired but he realizes he can't, so he just doesn't know what to do with that emotion. I don't usually wade into pure conjecture, but I'd hazard a guess that such an unhinged reaction from Vermette could mean that things aren't right on the homefront. Before you snap you usually have to get wound pretty tight.
  20. Well we don't know the location yet, but come May, Earnest will go to camp.
  21. A lifetime of TV commercials has erased all lines between wants and needs.
  22. After a few days of market cool down, the agents start calling the GMs. That's value shopping.
  23. I think he has a business on the side. Maybe he's not taking calls right now. The longer he's available the greater the chance he can come to terms with the Bombers, but you'd think he did enough last year to be in the second tier of FA receivers.
  24. Owens was going to play somewhere this year; he put up about 800 yards last season. Riders does not seem like a good fit at all though. But since Jones has enough ego for 12 men that means maybe he just kicks loose one of his other receivers rather than admit the error of his ways. Collins back in blue and gold perhaps?
  25. Owen's 2016 was better than his disastrous 2015 even with a season ending injury. Not sure how to project that into 2017 but this seems more like the pointless headline-grabbing signings we get from the Allouettes. Ocho cinco style.
