Look at me!!! I didn't get enough attention as a child!!! When does Canadian Idol get to Winnipeg!!?? -
Blue Jackets Fire Todd Richards, Hire John Tortorella
mbrg replied to bigg jay's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
Torts is 100% pure clownshoes. And Vancouver should have been the final nail, but the coffin was years in the making. Zombie Torts rising from the dead, just in time for Halloween. -
Bombers vs RedBlacks (and Jovon's chirp)
mbrg replied to Westy Sucks's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Jovon has made me wring my hands until my hands are all wrung out. -
? 4 weeks after Glenn got injured the Riders were still the number one offence in the CFL. That's how massive a gap they had built up over the rest of the CFL with him under center for a month.

Thought I'd leave it as a fill-in-the-blank; it applies to far too many threads.
-
Not sure what all the fuss is about - it's moot anyways. It was already established last October that Robert Marve is the Bombers QB of the future*. * should be QB of the present if OShea wasn't such a pig-headed mule coach

Pierre Labbe and Chris Greaves are flipping you a pair of birds right now. Also, Billy Pavalopolous is in your garage stealing cans of solvent.

So Friday, the Bomber game starts at 6:30 (TSN), the Jets game starts at 7 (TSN3), and the Jays game starts at 7:07 (SN). Not sure if this is a bad thing or the greatest thing ever...

Has a list of names, looked at a guy, crossed a name off that list. That's shoulder shrug material.

Just what I was thinking - offer them a conditional** 6th rounder for Dressler. ** valid only if we win the cup this season

Christo Bilukdi And Andy Mulumba watch
mbrg replied to Blue in the loops's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Would likely have been a top pick in his draft class but dropped to the 3rd round because he was too good (CFL draft logic). I loved this pick when Mack made it; finally we were making moves like the big boys make rather than drafting another sheckbangle who might be able to contribute on special teams. We need to make a pick like this every draft class. But as Mike already pointed out, he's at NFL weight right now. So him not heading up here right away isn't the worst thing anyways. Give him a full offseason to do some jazzercise, hit the treadmill, supplement his diet with ex-lax, that kind of thing. -
It simply was and is not applicable in this situation. To suggest it was is extremely liberal revisionist history.

Christo Bilukdi And Andy Mulumba watch

And the Ravens D has been hot garbage this year so I think this will be the end of Bilukidi in the NFL. People should still hang onto their gas money for another 6 months though. It seems very unlikely we see him this year. By the time he clears waivers the Bombers have two games left on the sked (I'll go out on a limb and say he won't believe the 5-10 team will give him a playoff cheque). Realistically he might play one game. One CFL paycheque vs waiting a few months and seeing if some injuries create some job openings? It's a no-brainer decision to not sign with the Bombers right now. Come next May if he doesn't have a NFL contract in hand he pretty much has to begin his CFL career, and it does seem remote that he would be offered one. -
Hedley was the half time show 2 years ago so I doubt they'd be brought in again (especially so soon) since nobody has ever done it twice before. Strange. My recollection of the 80's is that the Nylons did every halftime show between 81 and 87.

O'Shea believes Bombers better than their record
mbrg replied to Fatty Liver's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
This team is as good as the player standing behind center. -
it makes sense but you have to draw a line. Tillman is a POS and that was before he took a liking to his kid's babysitter. But you have high fives for Jagr for bedding a teenager? Redheads of the world just can't catch a break.

Brett Favre will be so disappointed to find out he flopped for Michael Strahan for no reason...

So, do you like...stuff?

One is a guy who plays every down on defence and special teams, both at an elite level, and was the CFL's runner-up most outstanding Canadian a year and a half ago in a league where the rules state you have to start a minimum of 7 Canadian players. The other is a serviceable backup QB that ideally never sees the field. Even though this is a hypothetical question that would never ever ever happen in reality, much like if Scarlet Johanssen and Kate Upton both wanted some sweet sweet mrbg action, which one would get kicked to the curb? I can play along. Muamba stays, Nichols goes. A serviceable backup QB isn't that hard to find; the Bombers have just made it appear that way. And if we were to operate in reality, there is simply no plausible reason the Bombers can't afford both. Much like the Scarlet/Kate conundrum. There is no need to choose. You can have both. Well, maybe not you... what's that dear? no, nothing...just writing a letter to our world vision child...

Around the CFL Regular Season Discussion
mbrg replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Oh thank goodness - now instead of Walters being considered bad at his job for not bringing in quality DE's, he can be considered bad at his job for letting quality DE's go. It's about time for a change in the narrative. -
Yeah Jones gave the impression he was looking to get rid of Nichols from the get go. Even last year they would try and get their 3rd stringer into games. I don't think it's fair to judge him on how Edmonton viewed him, They wanted something else at their #2 qb slot but no one did them a favour of outright beating him. Agree with all of that, and money has to also be a factor in Edmonton's decision to move Nichols. They re-signed him to compete for the #1 spot a few years ago. His base salary is probably steep enough that keeping him in the 3 spot is too hard to justify. Trading him for a 7th is about the same as admitting you were going to cut him and are glad to get anything at all.

Better. He's Kliff Kingsburyesque. Id say his bust potential would be brad banks. the typical NFL knocks on a qb with the cfl tool set. Never figured it out though. As for not having had a developmental qb, id say marve has been that. He hasnt quickly blossomed into what we would hope, but qbs arent often quick to develop in the cfl. If he can stay healthy and is reasonably priced id love to see him boyd, nichols, and willy in TC next year. That level of talent at the qb position is enough to make me drool. My tongue in cheek comment was a substitution for calling out all the people who continue to ignore the bolded truth in what you said. Tajh Boyd skyrockets up the depth chart before he's ever seen the playbook. Cut everyone now! Nichols is in his 5th year in the CFL and seems serviceable. Trevor Harris is in his 4th. Willy became a starter last year in his 5th. And the fans in Winnipeg still act like CFL QBs are 3 minute oatmeal. Robert Marve is a football god and it's a conspiracy that he is still on the bench what is that idiot OShea waiting for put him in already oops we ruined another one oh well hey look here's a shiny object so let's not learn any lesson we want Boyd! we want Boyd! we want Boyd! Tajh Boyd is a football god and it's a conspiracy that he is still on the bench what is that idiot OShea waiting for put him in already... The Bombers signed a promising young QB with no CFL or pro experience today. I'm hoping that is the last I hear about him for 3 or 4 years until he is ready to be a starter. That is the best case scenario for the Bombers, and as long as Willy and Nichols don't lose 2 games in a row ever, maybe there's a chance it will happen.
