Well it is the reason we kicked Brink, Elliott and Goltz to the curb. Right?
-
I suspect it's rugby related. I might be the only person who isn't in favour (favor?) of moving the convert back, but to me it's simple. It makes a touchdown worth more than two field goals. Which it should be. It's almost automatic? Don't care. So is the kneel down at the end of the game. Why not change the rules so the QB has to do it in front of the Oline if excitement is the only reason any rule exists? (What Rich Voodoo said)

Cauchy Muamba? I don't care if he has NFL aspirations and going into the season with anything less than the 3 best QBs you can get your hands on is dumb. Mentioning it before camp even starts is always ill-advised. Never suggest anything other than 100% commitment to the team.

you really think sneaking on 3rd and short does much to develop a guy? Future catburglar?
-
Not the impression I got from the couple practices I watched... he was very vocal and seemed to be constantly encouraging guys... sure seemed like he enjoyed being part of this team... OK great. Thanks for that. It'll be good to finally see him play on the 19th. I could be getting him mixed up with someone else, but I thought someone said he was off somewhere for the birth of his kid. And that's got to be a special kind of hell - wanting to be there to enjoy that rare experience but knowing that you're competing for a job and taking that time off might ultimately open the door for someone else to win the employment you're seeking to support that child.

Brohm tried out the NFL last year. Doesn't mean a thing. His agent will make some calls and try to get him a workout with some teams. It's a window of opportunity for Marve that closes as soon as he signs a CFL contract, so he's going to give it a shot rather than regret what might have been. Chances are micro-slim that he lands a NFL contract. And when he comes back to the CFL, he'll be a FA commodity, even if he's not as sharp at reading defences as he should be. Those athletic gifts really catch the eye. He still shouldn't have said it in that interview though, that was dumb. Just tell teams what they want to hear. You're 100% committed to the team. Bomber fans are the best fans in the CFL. The water in the Red River is the finest purest water that flows thru all the lands.

Every time I see him sprinting past defenders and torching defences I remark to myself "My goodness his knees look to be in a sorry state".

That would be a mistake cause Portis stinks. Six of one, half-dozen of the other. Both aren't good at sneaking either, their likely role this season, but lethal on the zone reads and option plays. I really would like to see a guy who looks like he has potential to be a CFL QB in town if we stick with 4 QB's. We don't need two guys like Marve and Portis around. Willy is the starter, Brohm is the backup but is pushing 30, the other two can't pass to save their lives. Some work to be done at QB IMO. Shhhhh. This is the time of year we convince ourselves we have an embarrassment of riches at QB and are the envy of all other teams.

Dangit - if that had only happened in Ottawa, we could have traded them Da'rel Scott for their best NI.

I didn't really see him do much other then that 16 yard run. But when you're spreading 17 carries amongst 5 guys it's hard to judge. Anderson only got 2 carries and Cotton didn't show well, but again...3 carries or so, hard to say. Our best rusher last night was Marve. To me he seemed to run with good power and vision. You are right about the limited reps though. It's really tough to judge. I don't know what order they played in, but any learning curve involving the turf would put the first few guys at more of a disadvantage. On OB Lumsden said players can make cuts if they use their outside foot, but if they use their inside foot they're going down due to inadequate surface depth.

You have a 9 year wait before he can answer that.

I don't think anyone is going to get much out of the stream for RB performance. It'll all be about how they grade out on film with following their blocks, pass protection, who followed their assignments to a tee. One or two carries a guy isn't going to teach them much at all, especially behind a revolving door OL. Sounds like you're thinking there were too many RB's on the depth chart to be able to effectively rate their performance. I'm sure to you it would. To me, it sounds like he's saying they will be evaluated on all aspects of their performance and duties, not just the rush attempts. I could see how that was missed though. Using all those fancy terms like blocks, pass protection, assignments. Enough with the crazy lingo Roger Staubach.

With Stoudamire's injury, I suspect Anderson's punt return will get more weight than just as a tie-breaker. Was reading in some article this morning, he has a 4.21 40? That's insane. Must be a typo in there. Even 4.31 is suck the air out of your nostrils speed.

Actually I would not be surprised to see Yantz as one of the first cuts. There is no benefit to keeping a Canadian quarterback around and at this point I think he is pretty clearly behind all the other qbs, so in that case why bother to keep him? They don't make decisions based on feel good stories. Mostly just to see if they want to Sinopoli him.

An interview I heard last night said they sold tickets to residents of all 50 states. From CBC - For anyone from out of town: remember to have Canadian cash with you. While parking attendants at the more expensive lot will accept foreign currencies at par, the cheaper lot will only take Canadian cash. Talk about a major RIP-OFF. Way to make the peg look good, I've travelled by car all over the USA from North Dakota to the Pacific and South to California. Nowhere and at no time could I use Canadian money. Not even to buy cup of coffee. There was a time back in the 80's where I remember spending Canuck cash while vacationing in the US, but we were also usually within a 10 minute boat ride of the boarder. It's not typical, just a campground more than happy to make some money giving 3 quarters for a dollar to a kid who wanted to play video games. Nowadays the odd truck stop near the border will still exchange cash.

I think the most important battles tonight will be between the Unamba type players - guys who get on the roster by being athletic and versatile. Wright, Adams, Taylor, Allen and Burnett (and probably 5 others). Can you excel at your natural position AND another position AND special teams? With limited spots on the 44 for imports, the guys who are most athletic and versatile will have a leg up.
-
Both guys would be considered development QBs, and with limited regular season reps for those guys even in practises, it would make sense they are fighting for the same job. If Yantz is already stashed on the PR, keeping both those guys in case of injuries becomes less necessary.
-
I believe Newman is injured at the moment. Hurl is probably getting a pass because he's a lock to make the 46, whereas the imports playing tonight are not. The Bombers are going to start their best 7 NIs but they still need to evaluate the LB jobs as if they are going all import there. Who knows, that might be what happens. Yantz likely has a PR spot waiting for him if he wants it. Portis, on the other hand, won't be guaranteed that luxury.
-
This x1000. We've had plenty of guys who don't look great in practice come in and make their mark come game time. Plenty of the opposite as well. If you're not even going to give a guy a chance at some game reps, why did you bring him along this far in the first place? Jhomo Gordon started camp at the bottom of the roster. Evaluating him is a waste of time. He's at the bottom of the roster. THAT'S A FACT(y-like thing).
-
Blah blah blah uniforms - where can I get those awesome shoes?!!
-
Because you've never bothered to take the time and learn how to do it. No wait, that's me. Doh!

I haven't found a solid answer on this There isn't one, but I also can't recall TSN making any similar content publicly available since adding a subscriber log-in filter to their site. The answer is most likely not the one you're hoping for.
-
Good for him. Hope his foot thing is sorted out. Maybe they can get Chris Garrett while they're at it.
-
You're good. TSN should really clarify when something is streaming on their site available to all vs only available on TSNgo with passwords.
