  1. Way ahead of you. Retired unused. Can I nominate "being proactive"?
  2. Campbell might be a great coach. He might be a really bad coach. Until the Desjardins factor is removed from the equation, it's a near-impossible assessment to make.
  3. Seems like Hamilton. And with that, week 1 of the CFL pre-season is in the books. Week 2 starts tonight.
  4. If the game continued on the way it was played during the first 25 minutes, you were treated to a pretty entertaining match. And the afternoon game was also said to be a crowd-pleaser. I've noticed over the years that some World Cup host cities feature multiple great games while other cities get a collection of dogs. Looks like Winnipeg might be one of the lucky cities this year. Edmonton, on the other hand, had two 1-0 games, and the 1-0 score in the NZ-Netherlands game might have flattered both teams. It was a mind-numbingly boring display of zero skill or pressure. That minimum one of those two teams and China get to move on to the next round while two of the teams that put on a great exhibition here yesterday will have to go home is a shame.
  5. Not my call. Haven't been to camp to see them. Don't have access to the meetings, film, etc. Coaches make those decisions.Coaches make the decisions and you criticize those decisions even though you don't have access to practices, meetings, film, etc.The old 'the coaches know more than anyone else' argument. Bomber coaches have crafted 1 winning season since 2008, or 1 in the last 7 seasons, so I don't feel bad about not blindly accepting their decisions. If they can eek out some better records, then I'd put more trust in their decisions.Where did I say that? You are arguing using circle logic. You say you can't say who should play because you haven't been to TC, etc yet you feel qualified to criticize who will be playing even though you haven't been to TC, etc. You're criticizing for the sake of criticizing. You think? To be fair, I don't think you should accuse him of using any kind of logic. It's quite masterful to be able to dig your heels into nothing.
  6. China spent most of the game blocking shots. Still, I did expect Canada would find a way to break down their defence regardless of them essentially playing 11 goalies. It's disappointing that Winnipeg's showcase day features an impenetrable layer of smoke in the atmosphere. It's still breathable, but the effect is very Mt. Doom-like.
  7. you realize preseason is essentially practice.. and we all know what they say about practice.. I swear, you login to the forum and say to yourself "what can i disagree or argue against today.." The mentality makes sense when viewed with just the simplest of changes: Of course watching a team you apparently despise would seem like a bad thing. A fan might be very interested in watching their favourite team play, or in the event of a preseason game, not consider the quality of play to be worth a full 3 hour investment. But if you despise that team, then the lack of coverage would be something to vocally celebrate.
  8. Not possible. Players never improve thru practise or evolve over time. Any suggestion otherwise is propaganda from the coaching staff. Learn that lesson now kids. Clarence Denmark will never be more than a #3 receiver.
  9. Smart free agent move by Ivan - pick a city where minimum 1,000 fans are wearing "his" jersey at every game. Obviously a cerebral player.
  10. Yes, top notch, except now I'm starting to care that Tuesday's game isn't televised.
  11. No, it's pretty much just one person. (And how much did OShea pay you to lie about Hurl's performance?)
  12. Can't take them unless we release them. By the time our season ends this guy will have viewed another 1000 guys. Unless, we have someone who is going to be a pending FA that they absolutely love, I'm not sure much will come from his visit. It will do more good for the Bombers than it will do harm. I admit I don't really know the finer points of a situation like this, but I'm curious as to why you think it will do good for the Bombers? Your post has made me calm down though so I have to thank you for that. Americans often don't want to give up on their NFL dream, and view signing in the CFL as the end of it. If Walters can say we had scouts from 30 of the 32 NFL teams at practises last year, then point to a guy like Ian Wild or Enoch Muamba, that can be all it takes for a reluctant neg-lister to look at the Bombers as his path to the NFL rather than away from it. GET OUT OF MY HEAD!! HOW ARE YOU DOING THIS. LOL I guess you're my brother from another grandmother.
  13. I know he's not with the team anymore, but if anyone could provide some updates on Dan Knapp's hair, it would be greatly appreciated.
  14. Finally a job opens up for Westwood. He's been staring at his phone, cursing the 2 hour time difference all morning. It's going to ring! I don't think McCallum should expect to play forever, but this just seems bizarre. If you wanted to push him out, why not use a late draft pick on a Canadian punter and see if you get lucky? It seems like they forgot to plan for their kicking game in the offseason.
  15. Our media is embarrassing. Holy hell. I'm comfortable putting a twenty down it was Weicek. I couldn't see who asked the question, but it sounded like Bauming, which would surprise me because he's usually on the ball. But could have been someone else too. Sonofa...great. Well June's as good a month as any to ration diapers. Let the baby dookie on the lawn. If he's going to try and flip blame for his screw-up on the Bombers, why not make a crack that he's not used to having learn the names of more than 7 coaches.

  17. Mrs. mbrg can sympathize. Not a lot happened in the 8 minutes I was there. A disappointing 8 minute experience. Once again, Mrs. mbrg ....

  19. Maybe he had more credentials that I didn't see, but from what I could tell wearing a Jets polo shirt and saying "I'm from the New York Jets" was all it took to get him in. Which might as well lead to mbrg's training camp report. I'm sorry. Lirim was hanging out by the port a pottys. Don't know if he had issues, or that's his spot. If that's his spot, he has issues. Bryant and Dile were sitting around. Bryant said a swear word, then looked around to see who could hear him. No kids, good enough. The Oline pushed each other around for fun. Neufeld seemed to do alright for himself. Then I had to go. Later when I came back to my car, I walked within 500 feet of Chad Remple. That's really all that happened while I was briefly there. I understand why I need to be banned from this site now. I'll miss you most of all Logan.
  20. From an entertainment perspective, it's about the most interesting thing that will ever happen during training camp. Non-contact introduction to CFL special teams days, on the other hand, that's the kind of thing that will make a person swear off training camp forever.
  21. We should never have given Dile that 4 million dollar signing bonus. Clearly our hands our tied.
  22. I'm guessing he will be offered the chance to stay here and rehab if he wants to use the teams staff and facilities for that purpose. Since he has no chance of playing this year they'll release him to free up his roster spot.
  23. Are depth/roster charts available there or do you have to print one off before you go? Most years they hand them out in the Bomber store, but since training camp is being held in the wilderness this year, not so sure.
  24. And in the NHL it matters. This would do little more than satisfy the curious. In football you can just cut a guy, boom, whatever was left on the contract just goes away. There are no long term consequences for a bad contract. You might miss out on a free agent that year. Or pay a penalty for that year. And then the slate is wiped clean again.
