  1. Probably not. Could always call up Ellerby too. One of Bogosian or Enstrom will eventually be healthy again, and the Jets don't have that many games between now and January.
  2. I thought they could not bring him up until his team is out of playoffs? Will Chevy make panic trade or grab the next dman put on waivers. Listening to the coach he did not sound set on February which is more scary. I dont see a panic move or trade. Brouillette comes out of the press box.

At work I usually answer with "So what are you selling?" Oddly enough they hang up about 30% of the time when I do that. Like the plan was to trick me, and now I've seen thru it so there's no point in continuing.
  4. The phrase "#1 problem" was used a little too liberally. Eakins wasn't that. He probably wasn't the solution either, so his firing doesn't sit one way or the other with me. Interesting ideas re: Maurice and Yakupov. Personally I wouldn't give up on Yakupov or think he needs a fresh start. Just a dose of patience. First overall picks are still individuals, and each individual will have their own pace and learning curve. The Oilers appear to have mismanaged his development to this point. If the Oiler fans and management can let go of the last 3 seasons of accumulated baggage, take a deep breath and reset back to zero, they might be pleasantly surprised 12 months from now. Or he eventually becomes a second/third line player in Florida, and makes the 2020 list of TSN's 10 Greatest Draft Busts. Who knows?
  5. I hear they have cooties I thought it was spelt gerrl.
  6. Most Jets fans liked Noel. His biggest mistake was that he decided to treat the professional players like professionals. And after 2 years of expecting the players to demand excellence of themselves, he realized this group did not have a strong enough internal leadership. But you can't sell whip-cracking after 2 years of not being a hardass. The players don't believe it. Maurice comes in and plays hardass from day 1. There were a few other nuts and bolts problems, and Perry Pearn didn't do jack squat to help this team, but the players' lack of buy-in was the biggest issue Noel faced. Nail Yakupov has played 13 months of NHL hockey. He scored 11 goals in the month of April 2013. He has scored 21 goals in the other 12 months of his NHL career. An average of less than 2 per month. If you plot them out on a chart, picking out which month is the outlier would be pretty easy to do. Is John Druce the greatest playoff performer in NHL history? You have to be careful about forming opinions on small sample sizes when there a larger sample sizes that suggest otherwise. I'm guessing if I was a teenager playing hockey in Russia it would be a pretty difficult transition. Yakupov may have better days in front of him, but his progress so far makes it seem like his ceiling as a player might be where we thought his floor was. And Eakins absolutely did not help his progress along. Your definition of progress is looser than ours. If they are landing the number 1 overall pick year after year after year, well it doesn't scream progress. Eakins hadn't done anything to deserve to keep that job. Number 1 problem? Well he had nothing to do with the near decade-long shitshow that preceded his hiring. Why was he hired in the first place? The players reportedly loved Krueger and the team showed progress under him. But McTavish decided Eakins was the greatest thing since sliced bread. A stupid failure from upper management. Eakins was nothing more than the latest example of what a colossal failure Oilers' management is. Pretending he is the number 1 problem is the mentality that allows for Lowe and crew to get another 5 years to continue to mismanage the franchise. And I have no problems with that. Screw the Oilers.
  7. You were just dying for Hutch to have a less-than-stellar game so you could come in and make this post. So obnoxious. Time to grow up, mbrg. I was unaware there was a monopoly on making completely unprovable claims... Yeah, I realize you were attempting to mock my post. Thanks for proving my point. Time to grow up. That wasn't actually the point, but I'm not feeling spunky enough right now to hammer out the 2,000 word response needed to properly break down the situation. Maybe tomorrow. See, now it's like Christmas eve - you won't be able to sleep tonight you'll be so excited.
  8. Sorry, if that was happening or not happening, it would be something our CEO would announce publicly. But I love the rampant speculation! Rampant is what we do. Yes, I see that... in droves. Let me rephrase the question, because I'm mildly curious. Do you know (either way) the answer to my question? Kim, be very careful before (if) answering this question. LOL. Don't worry about me, I didn't fall off the turnip truck last night. And as such, my participation in this thread shall end. But I do look forward to the iron-clad declarations of what my silence means... I know that's also a popular topic around here. A woman giving us the silent treatment? Speaking for myself, that's a first. Today. I think. And you're now on pace for 1400 posts annually. It's a good start. The vortex is undeniable, no point in resisting.
  9. Considering his strongest attribute is "being Jeff Garcia", not sure why he's considered must-have.

  11. Henoc is currently a roster spot placeholder. If he doesn't play his way up the depth chart, his name will be one of the ones on the expendable short list when the Colts acquire someone they consider more interesting. But Cory Greenwood turned Chiefs special teams player into a 4 year career in the NFL before the bubble burst for him. Every team has a slightly different personnel situation. Muamba may survive on the bubble for a long time.
  12. Did they also announce Kevin Lowe promoting himself to emperor?

Modern surveys often combine 3 different topics. The idea is to make it difficult for respondents to determine what they are being surveyed about and who has commissioned the survey, so people can't shape their answers and skew the results. There will often also be some throwaway questions just to trick the respondent. It's about as close to creating a double-blind study as a phone survey can get. And combining 3 makes it more efficient and saves money. The "thank you for being nice to me" was probably just genuine as these people get a lot of profanity directed their way. "You're single just like me" - odd, likely just friendly chitchat, but probably should have been left out.
  14. At no point did he say he was frustrated with the staff or how he was "treated", only that he was frustrated he wasn't going to play.
  15. Where is this place? Never heard of it. Indeed he is. But since it's the internet, people must crap on people.
  16. There's no doubt we would have won that game if Pav was in net.
  17. No one is as bad as Etienne. In two years Jade was 20 for 276 with a 13 yard average and two TDs Sisco was 9 for 116 with a 12.9 average.... Your honor I rest my case. In two years with the Argos Julian Feoli-Gudino was 0 for 0 with a zero yard average and 0 TDs. Nothing wrong with taking a look at Sisco. Either he's worth keeping and we keep him or not worth keeping and we don't.
  18. Indeed. I'd hate to lose them but wish them all the best.
  19. Thank you for being honest Muddy buddy.
  20. Shhhh. They really, really want it to be all on Pav. Who does? Not sure I'm seeing Pavs blaming here. Perhaps you are lost. Alright then. My mistake.
  21. By the way, some Banks tees and jerseys for sale over at Madison Square. Get them while they're hot fashionable cheap enough to use as fuel.
  22. Shhhh. They really, really want it to be all on Pav.
  23. That seems, I don't know, I'm just not sure how to connect the dots there. Not that there has to be a connection to hire a guy, but usually there are points between the two parties that are easy to follow. This is not a rumour that makes sense to me on the surface.
  24. You don't think it would have hit the news if those guys had been fired? I know I'd like my organization run on the assumptions of a fan's wishful thinking.
  25. Bought the digital camo. #1. Kuale. Paid full price. Double birds to y'all. and Rick Flair says WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
