  1. The sad thing is so many people were surprised that the NDP won in Alberta because they figured hey if I vote Wild Rose instead of PC that the Wild Rose party will win. What happened is the two conservative parties (Wild Rose/PC) split the vote almost down the middle leading to an NDP majority. Sadly NDP only got 41% of the popular vote and only won many of the ridings it won because Wild Rose took so many votes away from the PC party in the first place. I know I'm very scared of having the NDP party leading the province in which I reside, I know I'll be taxed more to support those single parents with children whom have those children because they couldn't bother to use protection and seldom work full time jobs enjoying government subsidization now they'll get even more subsidy while I will be making less. The scarier part is even though I am not in the oil and gas industry, where I live everything depends on the oil and gas industry. Having the projects shut down and seeing people move out of town means my rental properties are going to be harder to make money on, land value is going to go down. Minimum wage will go up but top end wages will fall down as less jobs will be available. There are a lot of other things that scare me with the NDP I hope to hell we can make it through these next four years.
  2. And he just can't be relied on as a returner. Way too many fumbles. I was trying to forget those fumbles >.< or worse the bobble pass last year that was horrible it was what I felt was what began the slide
  3. I don't think it will be too surprising now but I feel Washington may be finding himself on his way out. Good player but too many penalties.
  4. I actually like the idea of the convert being harder to get by putting it out to 32. It gives more chances for a return even if it is only for two points and I also think it should be if the player opts to return the ball they get it at that point on the field. Though not sure if that is how they are doing it. I believe this would mean teams might go for the two point convert more often although I believe 3 yards is too close. I might agree more with 4 yards myself. Not sure how to respond on the DB rule; if it is no grabbing but they are allowed to jostle then I think it is okay but I do believe that a receiver already has the easier time in the CFL and we shouldn't be making it even easier for receivers to catch the ball. I'm sure many would prefer to see higher points and the aim of this is to increase the scoring count. I support 1/3 of the proposed changes then I guess.
  5. CFL News @CFL_News RT .@CJOBSports: As per #Bombers REC Ezra Millington and DB Shea Pierre have been signed. Both are Canadians. #CFL
  6. Hopefully with all the recruitment a decent one ends up on the roster that can fill in for us this year
  7. Darrin Bauming @DarrinBauming #Bombers add three Internationals: 'backers Rodney Lamar (6'1" 225lb) and Khalil Bass (6'2" 230lb), and receiver Tyrone Goard (6'4" 195lb).
  8. Agreed with Noeller; back to back summer games in AB will be awesome I'll for sure get to see one of them because I'm never on call two weeks in a row.
  9. I always wondered why we never gave Volny more carries many mentioned fumblitis but in my time of seeing him play I don't ever recall seeing him fumble. It'll be interesting to see what he does for Montreal because he seemed like he would have the ability to be a messam type of RB. I don't see him as the one who can break it for the 15-20 yard run but he seemed like he could be a bruise em up type of player who would get you half way to the 10
  10. Perhaps Kevin Glenn would be a good guy to have on the team for veteran presence for the younger guys at Quarterback. Let's face it he was obviously a good quarterback that got us as far as he did before he broke his arm. It means he can probably help teach the guys some reads, help them on some technique. Everyone says he is a good quarterback until he is in a pressure situation, maybe that's when he forgets everything he knows and rushes things. If he can teach the positives we seen that under pressure Willy was able to still play well. Glenn probably would not be an expensive pick-up. We could have him as the 3rd and let Portis and Marve fight out for back-up
  11. This means I'm sure we will be taking OL with our first pick. It also means Walters can talk to Hennan and let him know what's up if he doesn't make it onto a team.
  12. Whom ever feels going over the cap is cheating is wrong. It's a soft cap with penalties, it's like getting called on offside. Sometimes it might even be considered like pass interference. I personally would want my team spending to just over the cap every year if they can afford it because the penalty really isn't that bad until you are more than 100k over.
  13. Yeah I actually think Sask will be under the cap this year or just over by less than 100,000. That's just smart business, I would hope that we attempt to do the same or do what we did last year and save room for player bonuses if we don't get whom we want in FA
  14. That's the other option
  15. Isn't that what everyone says when they've been traded? Even Foley said good things about Toronto, like no one says something poorly about a team they are being traded too
  16. I don't imagine that's really how it works. You don't go into free agency with a limit on what you can spend. The limit is the SMS. You don't have a pool of "free agent dollars", there's no cap right now. The bigger issue with targeting a high number of guys is likely being able to work the phones effectively. I definitely didn't explain my thought process out very well when I meant per FA I did mean SMS but what I meant per FA is that you generally spend more in Free Agency then if you were to have recruited or drafted the player yourself. So you pay slightly more for those positions than you would expect if you had drafted the player or recruited the player that was kind of unknown or waivered by other teams. Like they say you can't build your team on FA but you can improve it. Hard to explain but really my main concern is manning the calls and negotiations and getting beat by being drawn too thin.
  17. I hope on FA we don't try to concentrate too broad; I want to see us target upgrades in OL and an MLB. Perhaps a few key defensive players, I personally feel with our stable of receivers although not amazing they are able to produce and might even surprise us. To me if Walters starts going to broad it means his SMS dollars per FA will decrease and it might be tougher to also manage the multiple negotiations. I really hope they have five guys they REALLLY want and land at least three of them. Instead of looking at 10-15 guys that could be upgrades; and maybe missing out on the ones they really want.
  18. Yay finally they announced it; I see what took so long they had to get someone to design that ugly looking poster lol
  19. Looks like they are focusing at getting some talent for minicamps and tc; seems like they want to improve our defensive side of the ball in some areas. Hope to recruit the defensive side; and fix oline through FA/DRAFT? We could be heading into a good year if they manage both
  20. The question will be can JFG continue to make those types of catches he made early last season; if he is capable of doing so then he can be one of those go to in a bind receivers. Which I think would put him up above Kohlert, but right now Kohlert seems to have more ability to get open and as others have mentioned is more technically sound.
  21. I disagree the average fan is 80% ticket holders who like to watch the team and get in a good football game. The other 20% would be die hards whom pay attention to pressers and chat on forums. Even then I think 20% may be high
  22. Actually the longer we wait the less it feels its a done deal, the less likely that coordinator is making decisions on his defensive staff. The sooner we have someone in that position the sooner they can be in watching films and determining what players they need to keep; what changes they want to make and start getting work going for next season. I felt that part of the failure with Gary was we didn't have him hired until late so he didn't get the full time to work on getting his schemes and such ready.
  23. I've learnt that anything Mike posts is almost always 100% right; so I trust that it is a done deal and will not be as impatient in thinking the same as the others, quick is hired; benevides stepped down why no announcement!!!! I bet it comes out on a non jets game day while its not cold out side so that it is announced on a wonderful day hehe Honestly though Mike, how do you know everything do you work for the Blue Bombers?
  24. Although my grammar and spelling is atrocious, I do believe that people should attempt and care about their grammar and punctuation on an online forum. What is the use of learning English if you don't use it correctly and for that matter when else would most people use it in their lives. It isn't like we write letters anymore by hand to send through snail mail. I understand my spelling and grammar is bad but the best practice I get is attempting to use it properly on online forums. Back to the topic though; interesting tidbits from Lawless indeed! I'm still waiting on an announcement about Hall I really hope this isn't one of those Stubler things like last year
  25. spuds is unable to recognize sarcasm lol
