  1. With the amount of guys unsigned, it's hard to see the team vision right now. Hopefully it all comes together. It's a long way to TC.
  2. I'm not calling you out, but given the fact that he's hardly played and OL is almost impossible to judge from a fan perspective, what are you basing your opinion on?
  3. I doubt all of these professional talent evaluators are unaware of JUCO; it’s probably simply the viewpoint that to get to that point they’ve, for a multitude of reasons, have burned through all of their chances. It makes them long shots so resources are mostly spent elsewhere. Even if you look at our off season recruitment from this off season. Several look to have come from juco, but they fixed what they needed to and transferred to other colleges. It sounds like you get to know some of these guys personally and know their stories so you have a more intimate view of them. But that doesn’t enter the black and white of a scouting report, I guess.
  4. Well, this all sounds like a massive undertaking and I'm not surprised it hasn't happened, tbh.
  5. I didn't believe it, but I think I'm starting too. Still a lot of unsigned names. Walters either thinks there's a chance he can still sign the big two, or is going to be bringing a lot of new faces to camp (or both).
  6. Walker replaced with Fox and a bunch of new recruits brought into training camp.
  7. That's why I'd be surprised. We have a history of letting our DTs walk and replacing from within.
  8. So Kevin Brown has already been in the league 2 years but he's not listed as a FA. He must have signed a new deal at some point.
  9. It's fun to play in front of a whole crowd, but I'm sure it's pretty low on the priority list when you're negotiating a contract. My main concern would be housing. If I'm moving from Edmonton/Regina/Winnipeg to got to Toronto or Vancouver - they better be paying a housing bonus or have some off the books living accomadations.
  10. So, full disclosure, I didn't read the list so I don't know which services you're even talking about. But taking a local example - why does MPI spend money on billboards and commercials when we have no choice but to go through them? (And if I'm talking out of my butt here and this is completely different let me know).
  11. Because it's the off season. Give us a break.
  12. Even if he's the worst starter in the league....that's how he's being paid. He accepted the absolute minimum offer as far as I'm concerned.
  13. Yes, Adams outplayed his contract. Whether he already negotiated a raise or will during his next contract is besides the point. His value before this season was a sometimes starter sometimes back-up, which is why his salary was in the lowest tier. Brown, as an unproven starter, was placed in the same tier. Every other starting QB is making more. I have no idea why you're so focused on Adams, ignoring every other pivot and their deals.
  14. I don't want to to beat this to death too much longer, but I don't really understand how you consider it an overpay. He will be either the lowest paid or in the lowest tier of being paid. How much lower than the next lowest paid starter can a team reasonably be expected to pay?
  15. I'm not counting them at the moment because they don't have a "starter". They have two back-ups who will most likely each get starts. So, in that case, there may not be one guy in Hamilton who makes more than Brown. All teams who know have an expected starter will be paying over 400k.
  16. I forgot this one, so Dru Brown will be the only starter making less than 400k.
  17. I honestly don't think one has to do with the other.
  18. Well, I massively disagree with your explanation, though I agreed with the original point. Assuming Zach plays the majority of games, Strev is so much more valuable to us than Brown. If we were replacing Zach, I want to roll with Brown (and still hopefully have Strev).
  19. But this staff has refused to do that. Even when Brady was struggling. To think they're going to give him a starting opportunity is laughable.
  20. He’s not going to get them. You can believe what you want, but this coaching staff has shown again and again that they don’t see him as a starting option. Or even a role player. He’s a special teamer.
  21. Brown isn’t paid like the others either. He is being paid an entry level starter salary.
