  1. You can make any contract fit if you want to, the question becomes does it make the team better. Having 600k tied to 2 receivers will limit the team in other areas. Even if you manage to sneak some of the cap hit into the 2023 year. I'm sure they have a few different scenarios plotted out. It's a matter of deciding which one results in the best team overall.
  2. 1. It's objectively dumb, but I love when teams reach deep into the rule books and exploit random junk like this. I expect the rule to be changed in the off season so the kick has to travel at least 10 yards. 2. When have we ever brought in Dru to spark the offence? This is Zach's team. Zero chance. 3. I would prefer Strev as a 1b to Zach, as he is a guy you can throw out there to run his package. Dru is the guy you want if Zach is going to miss a game, but Strev is the guy you want playing with Zach.
  3. The weird things some people do with their votes. smh.
  4. I can't name a team that's overly invested in a QB. Every team has played at least 2 guys this year trying to find some success.
  5. Even if Strev was gonna come back to the CFL as a #2 or 1b, we’re not really positioned to do it. Spending 600+ on Zach doesn’t leave a lot for the rest of the QB room.
  6. He only throws 4 yards at a time. Ricky Ray and Dave Dickenson, he ain't.
  7. I'm coming from the perspective of, we're likely to be heading for our 4th consecutive Grey Cup appearance and you're gonna go with an unproven starter at QB? Bailing on the guy who dragged you to each one?
  8. Money aside, can Zach tell Dru with 100% confidence that he’s going to retire in 2 years? He’s already made that decision? And even if that was a guarantee, Dru would just stagnate in the bench and this point. He needs his next challenge if he wants to keep growing.
  9. He's in the first year of a three year deal with guaranteed money in the third year.
  10. And no one in this franchise is as cutthroat as Buono anyway.
  11. Dickenson played Bo as an unknown, Drew Tate, Arbuckle, Maier... It is literally his calling card. EDIT: This is just a ridiculous argument. We are going through perhaps the greatest dearth of QB depth the league has ever known. There have been three good teams all year and the rest have been complete crap. The highest ranked team, outside of WPG/TO/BC, is Montreal. Led by Cody friggin' Fajardo and you think Dru doesn't get looks this off-season???? Just a wild, wild take. QB positions are not set at all. Even Winnipeg want Dru because he could be the future, but no other team even has a present.
  12. Chris Jones is clearly not a Ford fan; but apart from some crazy escape plays, he hasn't proven himself to be the guy yet. Outside of BC and TO, every team will be talking with Dru's agent to see what it would take. They wouldn't be doing their jobs if they didn't. Great interview.
  13. Been great except for when they let Prukop play.
  14. He deserves it. I just hope he has a shot to succeed and doesn’t end up in a tire fire.
  15. We better not see that in a game that means something.
  16. Willy might be the worst tackler on the team, lol. So many guys in his hands that ran free.
  17. Honestly, I couldn't answer that question.
  18. 75 yard TD on the first play of the game; then sit his butt done.
  19. I hate to agree with this, but I do. His offences/teams have been average at best.
  20. The voters are equally ignorant as us to OL play. So, who knows.
  21. You can't say he only does one thing and also not acknowledge the fact he does that one thing well.
  22. Ok now, he’s the league sack leader by a large margin. Canadian or not he’d be getting his press and MODP consideration.
  23. Well we can agree to disagree on Kelly’s outstandingness. Not the go up point of this discussion. but for the purpose of the MOP award, a player needs to be excellent and needs the opportunities to demonstrate it. It’s like the cornerback argument: the best CB’s don’t accumulate stats because they’re never targeted. Meanwhile, the “lesser” CBs win award for leading the league in INTs, when they’re the most targeted CBs. In this particular season, Kelly did what he needed to do to keep his team moving; but due to the strength of the rest of his roster, he was rarely put into the position of needing to throw for 4+ TDs to steal a game. Brady was consistently leaned on all year long in both the running and receiving game and saved the day more than once. (I realize you agree; I’m just pontificating).
  24. Can’t blame him; but also can’t label him “outstanding” if he was never in the position to show it.
  25. I never believed Burris would have interest. I feel like his name as been mentioned before and he would always wave it off. But I think him being back is generally a good thing for the league. Very high profile player, lots of strong feeling for him from many fan bases. He’d make some headlines and fill a bunch of pages in these boards, that’s for sure.
