  1. And carried. Mod…..mod…..Bueller?
  2. Yeah, I was just trying to get off the DUI vs. Immigration topic. Yawn. Jeff Hamilton suggested that the Bombers told us a conservative estimate and it may only take 2-3 weeks, rather than 3-4. So my new hope is that Kenny is back for Week 2.
  3. Kenny can't get the games back, obviously. But if his agent dropped the ball or something that, it might be something that Kenny considers. Same deal with the Bombers. If this caught them unawares, they may want to make sure they're more diligent in checking into players that are being brought in.
  4. It's also possible that he and his lawyer kicked it down the road so it didn't impact him last season (which has also been reported/suggested). The issue is we don't know the private details of his case so are also open to the possibility that it just took this long. You're the only one trying to say that the events happened a specific way and saying everyone else is wrong.
  5. I disagree. The DUI was the story when it happened. The issue now is Kenny is ineligible to work due to the DUI. The club needs to file paperwork through the immigration office, not a criminal court in order to regain that eligibility - hence, immigration issue. Any headline reads "LAWLER SUSPENDED" and the DUI mentioned as the reason - No one is softening anything.
  6. It was at the time. It has since evolved. While it is the reason for the story, it is no longer the story.
  7. Yeah, I know about Bennett, lol. I just counted a 3 man rotation with a rookie Canadian as "no one else". Even with Haba in there, I'm underwhelmed. Especially with Schmekel as the DT rotation/back-up.
  8. Doesn't he have to be on the roster? There's no one else.
  9. No one is saying otherwise, lol. Of course it's Lawler's fault. The current issue is an immigration issue. A person does not get to decide how long the justice system takes. A player does hire an agent to know these details. The Bombers should have also looked into this before signing him - because it is a teams responsibility to do their due diligence on incoming players. You're just arguing semantics at this point. Literally no one has tried to absolve Lawler of anything.
  10. 100% what I would do.
  11. Well, that's not true. It existed the second he made his guilty plea. Now, you may be able to argue that he could have dealt with the immigration issue sooner, but there' no way to know that for sure, This may just be how long it has taken.
  12. First part for sure, he was definitely under the assumption that he was going to start. Now, how it went from that to him leaving the team. That's all speculation.
  13. When are game previews for the upcoming game going up? Day before the game? Pre-game on the day of?
  14. I'm not slagging the guy. We don't know anything but hearsay so nothing is definite one way or the other. I'm just discussing out loud the things that are being said by Kongbo, BC players, and media. That said, there were some rumours about Kongbo being unsatisfied with playing time while he was here. And one of the things about Winnipeg's locker room and the whole FIFO mentality is, you don't hear about the drama. They keep it in house. It doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
  15. I get what you're saying, but it is separate. He plead guilty and will have a punishment for that. And honestly, if you read articles and not just headlines it is always mentioned that it is due to the DUI. I don't see anyone sugarcoating this.
  16. I personally don't think it's that strong of an opinion. I know many of us will defend the Bombers organization to the death, but people make mistakes, and being that no one involved has any of the experience you just pointed out, it was probably an easy thing to overlook.
  17. I think everyone involved played a role. I'm sure this could have been resolved earlier, it's probably Lawler and his lawyer who delayed it so he could play uninterrupted last season. He pled guilty 2 months ago, and both player and team seem to have been caught by this unaware. It seems like it could have been addressed immediately following the guilty plea. At the very least, the team didn't do the proper due diligence, imo.
  18. Farhan reported that Kongbo didn't react well to finding out he wasn't starting - said a bunch of stuff to other players and coaches. I don't know guys, I kind of believe that.
  19. And they probably deserved a bit of a hit job for this one.
  20. Kevin Brown.
  21. I mean, obviously, lol.
  22. BLM would still need to get it out there. Rose is still good to bring one back.
  23. #holmseason
  24. Yeah, not a good sign when they trade the players calling out guys instead of the ones who are doggin' it.
