  1. I have been to many a bomber practice over the years - and the reporters are mostly the same - and that's exactly what they do. They're just there to hang out ( when they even choose to be there at all).
  2. Keith Stokes had one of the best single seasons ever, but Grant has sustained his success.
  3. I do think the alts were pretty horrible. There needs to be alternates, I guess. But I hate it.
  4. I 100% believe that Harris is a much better fit for them than CoFaj. If they are actually self-aware, and plan and around their offensive weaknesses, they can certainly be better than Edmonton, Montreal, and Ottawa and make the play-offs. That's their absolute ceiling, however.
  5. I get the reasons why we haven't had a guy top the list. There's reason it last happened when our team was terrible. It's still nice to have that guy. I would also have like Zach to lead the league in passing the last couple of years, but we tend to sit him and MBT took the lead each time. You shrug your shoulders because of the bigger picture, but it would still be nice.
  6. My first thought was that they're giving him a shot out of respect for his service. That said, as a win now team, if a player can contribute something, the age doesn't matter. We'll see if it becomes anything. As for MOSjr, it is a little awkward. No matter what, he's a back of roster STer. The kind of guy that people talk about like, "Why is this guy on the roster instead of player x, y, or z?" It just sets up a bad narrative. But, at the same time, the Bombers, more than any other team, recruit guys solely to play ST. Even to the extent of hurting other position groups to keep guys they like on ST. So, if he had a different name, would we have given him the shot anyway? Hard to blame the kid in that scenario.
  7. That won't happen because it takes away the possibility to execute the rest of the offence. They always want that in their back pocket.
  8. Last Bomber to lead the league in sacks was Hunt in 2010. A little disappointing..
  9. Last game we played, we lost by one because we went for one when we didn't have to.
  10. Look what we did with Justin Goltz every time we were inside the 10 yard line. Why couldn't we do something similar (with an infinitely better roster) for conversions?
  11. I'm going to be somewhere in the middle in all this - because our kicking was not good enough last year. Full stop. But, our team should still have won the Grey Cup and everyone failed to show up. But you keep bringing up his CIS stats like it means anything at all. It doesn't. Every player in the league killed it in college, that's why they believe they can play pro. But it doesn't mean anything once you're here - especially 2/3 years in.
  12. I wouldn't even place a bet on who called who first. They probably got each other's voice mails as they dialed numbers simultaneously. I had just sent my buddies a message pointing out his release when I saw the "SIGNED" image. Whole thing was wrapped up in 20 minutes.
  13. Something DT posted about Sergio: his average FG attempt was like 5-6 yards longer than anyone else's. I know it seemed like he wasn't as good for the Elks, but they literally trotted him out there for every long shot.
  14. I think it's up to 8 if you count punters, but I'm sure we'll quickly let some guys go now that Sergio is on board. That was my first thought, but he's still facing heavy competition. He'll need to show up stronger if he wants that job.
  15. I will never begrudge everyone for putting out CFL content. It takes time and gives us all something to talk about. More is needed. That said, judging the draft is impossible. Even for Kyle Walters, you have to go look at underdeveloped kids go out there and perform with and against kids who will never play football beyond college - how do you assess that? Imagine you're a teacher and trying to assess someone for a Gr. 12 physics class, but you only have their Gr. 3 materials....and it's mostly wrong.
  16. Do not love the age or size.
  17. You always accuse people of doing this same thing, you know. Focusing on one small part of your statement and pretending it was the entire point you're making. Investing in the product means expanding content, not reducing it. Yes, the preseason games are a part of that.
  18. Now hear what we're saying. If we want to the CFL to survive and perhaps even grow, there needs to be an investment into the product. Yes, it is easy to cut costs. But there is an alternate business theory where you invest into a product to improve it's returns.
  19. There was a patch from the first season at the new stadium wasn’t there? I need one of those.
  20. It was the dumbest possible solution and everyone in the room who agreed on it should feel like an absolute idiot.
  21. MOS doesn't publicly reveal a whole lot. Keeps things really close to the chest. For him to say that it would not be a good idea to draft the boy makes me think we're going to take a hard pass.
  22. Well, I don't know the names of anyone else in the draft, but he's my new favourite!
  23. I bet there’ll be an incoming global as well. A 2-man operation is possible.
  24. Walters said in Tait's most recent article that they are treating it like every other position this year. A true competition with Americans, Canadians, and Globals; and seeing how the whole roster will shape together.
