Lean in to the running game, accept that he is not moving the ball down field and game plan around a shorter passing game, commit resources to your D, not on a 250k deep threat that Faj can't get the ball to. Whomever their QB is, he is going to be low on the list of things wrong with the Riders. Cody wasn't really the problem last year either. O'Day has built a poor culture, made terrible cap management decisions, and hired a coaching staff that can't maximize (or recognize) the abilities of their players.

Vaj is a better fit anywhere because he's the better QB. I don't know if there Riders necessarily need a mobile QB though. They need to design an offence to get the ball out quick.

You don't need insiders to tell you it's both the Riders' and Dane's only option.

And that's the situation Rourke didn't want. He's not going to walk on a team and supplant a starter. He needed a spot that would give him the opportunity to compete for the #2. It's also important that you don't go somewhere where the coaching staff is going to be fired mid-season. You pick the team with the worst starting QB and that's exactly what will happen.

Have to have success first. We paid value to bring guys in, but they've taken less to stay to "run it back". It's definitely not easy to sustain.

I don't doubt that Rourke would stay if he wasn't presented a real opportunity. But at this point, with the amount of workouts and offers, the ability to chose the best fit/opportunity, it seems obvious that there's a path to success. So, the league has probably lost him for a couple of years at least.

Walters all but confirmed Demski and Jeffcoat on WST today. Admitted most of these contracts have been in place for a long time and just staggering releasing them.

They still may be the team able to offer him the largest contract. Cornelious et al must be the lowest paid QB room in the league.

I don't know if it's possible to pit the Bombers against anyone... Walters offers what is budgeted and if another team goes beyond that, we're usually comfortable saying "thanks but no thanks".

They'll probably end up getting stuck with Evans as the least QB and team still standing around, but there is no way BLM goes to Regina.

The only reason I'm worried about Darby is because that's how it played out last season. I hope he's more of a priority this season but we've also shown an incredible ability to scout DBs. The only reason he was even needed this past season was the number of injuries (which led to uncovering a lot of depth).

Yoshi is guaranteed. I'm not super sure about Grant and Darby - just because salary cap. I feel good about Grant though, probably just looking for NFL opportunities last year.
