    I find it very unlikely a player asked for and received his release with the intention of signing with another CFL team. (I am very glad to have him - we desperately need rotational DEs)

    Are we at the point the point where we’re pretending guys on the street that we pick up due to emergencies are better than they are? He asked for his release just for the hope and dream we’d pick him up? No. he was cut.

    Problem was never getting tickets, it’s finding somewhere to stay. Shouldnt be allowed to host if you don’t have the hotel space.

    And it does suck. These past couple of years should have been his prime, cementing a HoF career. And injuries have tossed that into the crapper. But I agree, it's just an awareness that he physically can't do it anymore.

    Can't see BLM agreeing to play behind the Riders OL anyway. I think if he doesn't get an ideal scenario that he can excel in, the broadcast booth is waiting.

    He was 0-4 with his starting QB. Ironically enough, Lapo has never had a successful offence as a HC. The only time he won more than 4 games in a season is in 2011, when we had the swaggerville defence.

    If TSN wants to cough up the dough.... they seem to have cut pretty much everything from broadcasts...

    I’ve heard Hardrick say multiple times that he is going to play until they rip the jersey off his back. That said, I’d expect he stays on his side. Why create two problems instead of one?

    Yup, that is true. I definitely didn’t put 2+2 together on that one. I am 100% unconcerned about that scenario though.

    I agree, but I also doubt we're going to sign his replacement and get another 5+ year perennial all star. Also have to prepare for signing a stop gap while we develop our long term plan. Again - I'm sure we have plan A, B, and C we're pursuing.

    I don't know if I'd say they control their destiny if they need us to lose games to get 1st. We are 3 wins up.

    I think any succession planning is going to involve having plan A, B, C, and D lined up. We don't know who's going to be in FA when the time comes after all.

    I didn’t say he was our starting LT next year. I acknowledged that he is one of a few tackles we’ve brought in this Year with a clear eye towards the future.

    100% Weve brought in a few tackles now. And I don’t see big Stan coming back next year.

    Definitely bringing in lots of tackles to get their feet wet before next year.

    Ehhhhh….this is where coaches - even the good ones - get themselves in trouble. Hire the guy you know, keep the same players rather than try to upgrade. I would not want Lapo back here either. I don’t think it matters. Just rooting for a good game.

    That’s the risk! Im sure he’ll be drafted high on name and pedigree. He does look like he has the tools - I’ve heard Canadian media (Arash probably?) say he’s not as athletic as Nathan.

    He’s just honest about his feelings. It is very similar and people should extend more grace to him as a human being - but there is a giant chasm between that and rubbing into an opposing team/fan base.
