"Duane Ford, is the enemy of meat, he can really pound it down"......awkward laughing.... -Rod Black, Ottawa vs BC, 2015 feel free to add your own or mods can delete this stupid thread, but i laughed for 5 minutes straight after that one

on a broader spectrum? you still hear players up here talk about having to instill that this is a legitimate league to guys down south

well if you look today there was a some twitter interactions with this site's twitter account and some bomber reporters and low and behold they have 25 reported salaries for the Bombers, granted some of them are errors like Denmark who i thought made around 130,000-150,000 But my reason for wanting salaries published is not so much to know what guys make but hopefully that upper tier contracts that are published might push more guys to come to the CFL than NFL practice squad/3rd string minimum salary guys who might get a season or two, if they know they can make decent money here after their entry level contracts expire
-
i dont think the objective is to nail down 100% accurate cap reports, but more to compile the biggest possible list of contracts that we do know that are discussed through the media.
-
with the cap increase starting to see more positional players salaries reported in the news when previously it was just QBs, im sure if you compiled all of the reported salaries there would be a decent amount.
-
New website was started to attempt to track CFL salaries. Its kind of cool and im sure we could give the guy some input. Be interesting to see how far he gets, http://www.cflcapgeek.com/

when i played college ball we taped every practice, game, scrimmage, and indiviudal workout session. Each week we would get clips sent to us from our coach on the team we faced that week that showed dozens of clips of individuals and their tendencies, team offense sets, and defensive rotations/tendencies. We had to memorize everything because we ran their sets all week in practice. We were also expected to watch and clip our own performance in practices and games through an editing program we had access to and bring about 30 minutes of clips to a meeting with our coaches each week. We were also expected to watch film with teammates at least a few hours a week or with coaches. Each day during the week we got new clips emailed to us from the coaches. Game dvds from other teams were always available in our team room and we had like a mountain of dvds from practice. This did not include the 2-4 1 hour film sessions we had as a team each week. What im trying to say is film is one of the main reasons why my career record in CIS was 165-5 (not to brag, film works) I would be curious to know what the film regiment is for the bombers

I only watch ESPN 8, THE OCHO!

best part is he is 26 and could have 5 more really solid seasons for us, long term solution

bo levi looks really good, him and willy the future Ray and Burris?
-
i still cant get over the unnecessary roughness call for the hit on Ray in the first half, calls like that will kill the game.... #ProulxLogic
-
i remember reading somewhere that when he was recruited by boise state that they brought him into an office and showed him a bunch of defenses and asked him how he would react to them. Within 10 minutes he was offered a full ride. To bad he cant run for a first down when desperately needed.....still pissed....

would not mind seeing a 70/30 split for grisby and cotton, i think grisby has earned a majority of touches for "now"

How To Get 24,000 People in & Out Of TD Bank Stadium
peggars replied to iso_55's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
it would be really cool if they had a shuttle service by boat on the canal in ottawa, i wonder if they have anything planned. There is already so much traffic with tourist tours there that im sure they could snag some big boats and shuttle people from the Carleton/Mooneys bay area and from downtown. -
a lot of people in the area have paid parking on their driveways for big events in the past like the Ottawa exhibition, like they used to do for ticats games at ivor wynne. People will park on front lawns and stuff but they are going to have to rely on park and ride, and park and bike/walk. But those who go real early can at least go slam a pint or two at Paddys or Quinns or something which is not a bad alternative

its easy to see the difference in knowledgeable people like Irving and Brown compared to the "others". It so much more in depth, with technical explanations. I love listen to Doug talk about defensive fundamentals, scouting, strategy, and why things resulted the way they did opposed to the WFP and sun articles that are generic and superficial edit: I actually dated a carleton journalism girl whose dream was to be in sports broadcasting. She was more knowledgeable then any of her classmates that I met but still only understood simplistic notions of hockey and football. She was an expert in soccer "from being a collegiate soccer player" but basic in all other major sports. When i asked her about being more technical with her articles she stated that she has to keep them basic so that larger audiences can understand. This might be a factor to why the current freep and sun reporters write the way they do.

man is the first game there going to be interesting, I used to live 2 blocks away on Fulton avenue and it will be tight getting people through there. It is such a gorgeous area though and has so many great little pubs and restaurants on Bank street. I do envy that there is stuff around it instead being on an isolated land island in the middle of suburbia.....

lets not forget Archer if we count cartoons, that is a greeat show

as a person who encounters many hipsters in their line of work (architecture), portlandia has turned into one of my favorite shows, they are so bang on with so many of their skits, the best is the feminist book shop

and on that note, im off to the game!! section 211, the 6'7 guy in the wild jersey

just heard on CBC that the ticket count is now over 26,000

second place design had an additional rapid transit route through it and had a grid street system that had multiple connection points to pembina, I think there is great potential to have a permanent community in there, other urban campuses have flourished. The issue is the current design has one type of housing, limited connectivity, limited retail/commercial (essentially its a single use development) and so on That being said it will probably change over time a great deal from design to construction....i hope

stadium being there has nothing to do with my thoughts on the development. The worst part was that I visited the firm in Toronto and saw a presentation on it and they were looneys. No concept of the surrounding area or the city of Winnipeg itself. lol i should stop now before i start punching my couch cushions ......
-
http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/local/thinking-ahead-230455641.html here is a link to a story on the development

U of M has control of all the surrounding land, its their development. The plan from the winning architecture firm is basically to maintain as much of the natural environment as possible while erecting a bunch of massive apartment towers in the natural spaces. If anyone has heard of "towers in the park", theory on city building that emerged in the first half of the 20th century, its essentially that..... What im trying to say is it sucks, it really really sucks
