  1. Now Loffler is out, Brannen in as backup safety
  2. Knox missing means a hole on special teams, I'm assuming Wilson fills that role.
  3. I wonder if Dressler's replacing Denmark this week.
  4. Maybe he should read this https://www.nytimes.com/2017/03/09/sports/baylor-football-sexual-assault.html
  5. Took me a long time , but bam, I finally got Fort Hew . That's pretty cool!
  6. Boom, wrong about Loffler, he's listed on the depth chart and Conteh (backup Canadian dback) is removed from roster. Shoulder can't be that bad then, maybe an injury to it he's been dealing with for a while?
  7. Rewatched the Esks game last night, Loffler seemed to be favouring his shoulder after a hit late in that game. While he stayed in his right arm was visibly hanging at his side. Might just be speculation but it looked separated to me.
  8. Next man up just not cutting it anymore for Esks. Down to 8 players on practice roster. A move like this was made so that there might still be a cup shot. Without it their season might just go into the toilet. A second round pick is a crap shoot at times - see A Richards. Wouldn't be surprised to see them make a move for an established receiver if they don't start to get some bodies back shortly.
  9. http://3downnation.com/2017/08/20/ticats-trade-john-chick-eskimos/ Good move on the Esks part. Looks like Hamilton has thrown in the towel.
  10. Edmonton 7-0. Bombers on a short week, Esks full week to prepare. Even with a depleted lineup there are still some outstanding players on both sides of the ball and they've been finding ways to win games. If we win this one we'll be in a good place and a real contender.
  11. Have to agree Hurl is not our answer at MLB, to slow to the play, gets caught up in blocks he should be easily shedding, and his tackling is not up to snuff. Most important position on the D and he was finally exposed last week in the run game. Up till then our stalwart Dline had mostly been making up for his weakness against the run. Unfortunately Knox is not An improvement in the middle. Hurls greatest strength are his reads, unfortunately lack of athleticism puts him at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to quality CFL MLB's. If we had someone like Elimimiam, Sherritt, Woods or Singleton, Richie Halls defence would be gold.
  12. Williams - Eskimos
  13. Boy what I wouldn't give to have any one of them in their prime playing in place of Roc tonight. Would feel a lot better about our coverage unit.
  14. The online has been excellent on four man rush. Having a tough time picking up the blitz though.
  15. I agree that any physical or threatening contact with an official deserves a long or even lifetime suspension. However there is no clear rule in place to address this. A one game suspension will lead to the CFLPA to seek an injunction and let an arbitrator rule. There is the possibility that they might extend the suspension for a longer term. A one game time out I think will make for a speedier decision, rather than trying to rule on a longer one. After watching the video evidence of both the facewash and then the contact shortly after an arbitrator is going to have a hard time not to give him a longer suspension. In any event a clear policy will need to be developed by the new commissioner to address this type of situation in the future.
  16. Arcenault
  17. Yep I gotta agree about Hurl, he seems to always be in pursuit mode if the running back breaks the LOS. Very seldom initiates contact. Was left to Leggett and Randle to take on Messam. Although it wasn't a huge outing, Messam did rack up over 70 yards. Conversely Harris had less than half those totals taking on a weak dline, Singleton was a beast.
  18. Only positive I got yesterday was that Mulumba was cut , maybe he'll finally come north. We can sure use him after watching Hurl always a step behind and Wild going down.
  19. Denmark
  20. So true. Remember Dave Ritchie's post game interviews, priceless. But his in game decisions and schemes were some of the best we ever had and he was a players coach.
  21. Basically by winning the war in the trenches, controlled pressure means you keep Mitchell in the pocket and make him hurry his throws. Calgary looks beatable, I think we have the personall up front to make it happen. Offence needs a grinding type attack with lot of high percentage underneath throws, and a healthy dose of Andrew Harris. We can't afford a lot of 2 and outs early, Calgary's O is just to good to give them a lot of opportunity.
  22. Tackle Messam before he gets a head of steam, controlled pressure on Mitchell and long time consuming drives I think will be the keys.
  23. The one to Dressler was overthrown for sure, but The other was Denmarks fault, he should have kept running.
